Was torn over whether or not to go mirror less. As an SLR guy forever and separate video camera believer, I have been pleased. The smaller size is a great plus. The video viewfinder is better than my own vision, so as I have a preference for a viewfinder, this was great, and it detects whether or not you have your eye to it, viewfinder turns on, or if you hold the camera up, the LCD screen comes up. As with most cameras, this has way too many features to understand, but does well with auto, and with a little trial and error, the manual setting with 2 roller knobs for aperture and shutter speed give you good, simple options. Video does well although I have not explored it fully. Shot in 4K but have not figured out yet how to download video off the camera to my computer. Overall, I have been well pleased and know there is much more capability that I will continue to learn about as I use it more. ... More

Easily one of the best cameras I've ever used. Considering the camera is 5 years old, it can still hold up to most cameras today. It is versatile in terms of taking video and photos. I do not regret spending a single penny on this beast.

I was looking for a mirrorless digital camera at a fair price with specific accessories and I found it. Plus the Sony Alpha 7Rii is one of the best cameras out there for picture and video, I'm able to capture the best portraits using my 20mm GM lense, and also the video quality (4k) is great. I think is one of the best deal I have ever bought.

I also use Nikon D4S and D810, but the colors Sony are unbeatable. The exercise testing needs to improve. I recommend. Portability and image quality.

Definitely the best deal around for full frame period. 42mp with excellent low noise/high iso that pulls shadows and highlights like a champ too? Yes please. With all the new $250-350 lenses out now it's a no brainier as long as you don't shoot sports or fast wildlife. As a hobby you definitely can tho and still get some keepers.

I was really excited for this camera, the image and video is beautiful, and in continuous shutter mode it help up well. I was ready to jump ship entirely from Canon. But after only a week of use, the camera refused to power on after a day of shooting. It wouldn't charge over USB, it wouldn't work with a full battery charge. The camera completely and utterly broke down on me. I shouldn't be having these issues with a camera at this price point, and I'm utterly disappointed.

Great body with 41 MP. Paired with the Metabones IV adaptor the AF is terrific!!! Love the quiet mode when needed. Only drawback is the menu system that needs to be reorganized. The dynamic range is an incredible advancement to me!!

The only annoyance is that the camera eats up some batteries. I just bought the grip and make sure I have extra batteries and chargers on hand. The output of this body and the Sony 24-70 2.8 is a sight to behold.

I am coming back to photography as a hobby after a decade hiatus. I was hoping to find a full frame body that gave me back the joy of taking pictures now that I decided it was time to come back. The only thing I miss from film times, is waiting to have the Kodachrome film to be developed :D. Other than that, it blew my mind. Oh by the way, get a few extra batteries ;-)

What else can be said about one of the cameras that changed the scope of mirrorless full frame cameras. Exceptional quality in a package previously unheard of in size. This is a great piece of kit even 5 years later. I picked this up as a backup body to my A7Riv and I have absolutely no regrets, besides maybe not buying 2.

What can I say? I LOVE this camera! The menu system is a little confusing but the camera performs well.

I do like this baby for stills. 4K video is a great perk too, but this is the first one I've had that will record it internally, so of course i think it's great..... I sure wish it would roll 120 in 1080 though..... one thing i particularly like is that is has so many pixels it actually looks quite a bit like film when you can start to taste the grain a little bit. it has a smooth grain. so far as i've seen. haven't tried pushing the ISO super high yet, but i roll confidently up to 25600 because i trust Sony. love the cine gamma profiles so far. just make sure you push the exposure a little. it will save you in the highlights, but leave you hanging in the shadows. ... I have been using a Sony A6000 and I wanted a full frame digital camera that I could take full advantage of my vintage lenses. This camera fit the bill. I'm used to the menu options on the A6000 so there was no learning curve since the menus are similar. The lens that came with the body is fine and was just $100 more than just the body alone so is worth getting along with the body as a package. Using Payboo I saved $100 on sales tax so used the savings on the damage insurance which I wished I had on another camera that fell off a tripod. ... More

After 12 years of using a Canon 5D Mark 2 as a professional photographer, I decided to sell all my gear ( camera & 4 lenses) & to experience the mirror less Camera. I was so happy to grab the B&H offer on my Sony AR 7/ 2 including the lenses & truly it turned to be the best Camera I ever owned. The resolution quality of 42 MP / the weight of the Body / the ISO capabilities/ the Vedio quality & much more I simply can't ask for any better & extremely happy with such an upgrade Strongly recommended as a camera as well as a store B&H to deal with Sherif ... This is the second time that I've purchased this model. I came back to it because it is a stable, well-supported and well-built product with huge capabilities that takes great pictures almost by itself. The Sony lens line for this series is great, too. Many competing cameras have just gotten to where Sony has been already for quite some time. Oh, and the price was very good and the service and delivery were wonderful. I have looked at other places and you just can't beat B&H!

There have been many new cameras since this one came out, but it still has most of features and qualities that are in the more recent cameras. It costs far less than the newer version, but it still stands up well to many other newer cameras. 42 mega pixel images are not found in most other cameras and it is Full Frame, no cropping. I am amazed at how it holds up to cameras 5 years newer. A great purchase and a great camera.

I've been shooting with a Sony A6300 and though I'd upgrade but didn't really have the budget for a new a7riii. I found an a7rii in the used department for significantly less rated at a 9+ and was blown away with the condition. This camera is perfect with only around 2000 shutter actuations. The camera performance is spectacular. My sigma zoom has dramatically better performance on the a7rii than my 6300. I need to pickup a couple of new FE lenses to get the full benefit of this camera, but am very happy with this camera and the purchase from B&H. ... More
