For the price, you cannot beat the quality & functionality of this well-built microphone. It is lightweight & needs to be handle with appropriate care. The cardioid pattern picks up surrounding sound well but keep central sound primary.

Just got this and almost immediately used it as a boom mic for sit-down interviews, cabled to a Zoom H1. The sound is crisp and clear - better than I had hoped. I'll also be using it camera-mounted but haven't done so yet.

I've only used it once now... but I do love it. There's so much less ambient noise in my recordings. The mic is put together well and I love the shockmount. Only thing is that I wish it came with some sort of case either hard or cloth.

versatile and quick to mount, needs better placement so you can use viewfinder to take snap shots as well. your head hits the back when trying stills shots. Moving the mount forward and sliding the mic back to keep weight balance will enable both video and stills to be taken

Really good. Had a great time. Wouldn't trade it for any other mic. Great for live music!

This produce is very handy when it comes to traveling around town with my camera backpack. The mic picks up sound very well and there are now downsides to it. GREAT PRODUCT! I shoot with the Canon T2i.

The VideoMic is simply great. Good audio quality, light weight, easy to use and the battery lasts forever ! I bought it to use with my 60D and the improvement on audio quality was huge. With or without it its like water and wine :D and - the best part - low priced ;)

Easy connection, secure mount, simple shock dampening system. 2 settings. Does improve sound recording. The high setting filters well unwanted noise. Will require extension bracket with some LCD monitor locations.

I purchased this mic for use in a short film I am directing and overall was most pleased with the result. It picks up sound very well and the high pass filter cuts out a lot of the background noise. Overall for a beginner filmmaker I would highly recommend this mic.

Buy this microphone that had deaudio deficiency in my videos. I recorded a wedding where a violinist and a guitarist were present. Wow! when I went to edit audio pickup was super. I recommend it.

I have not had a chance to do much with the microphone, but my colleague who uses the same mic talks highly of it. The service level at B&H is what keeps me going back. Although there was a shipping error, B&H was able to get the mic out to me expeditiously at no extra charge.

It has a cheap lightweight plastic feel but works better than expected. A very good value for the relatively low price. I'm very glad I can improve the souns so inexpensively since I mostly use it for family videos.

I bought this to use with my canon 60d. I chose the shotgun over the stereo because isolating the sound is going to be more important that having stereo in almost every case that I'm shooting. I do commercials and wedding videos.

Is permentaly atached to my Canon 60D, use it everywhere for everything. It is a good quality, value for money. From time to time I might forget to turn the mic on, This is the second Rode video mic I have purchased which bears testimony of it's performance in my situation.

The first thing I noticed about this microphone its directional but the sounds that it picks up are great. I was able to record sounds over 20 feet that was nice because a lot of microphones pick-up a lot distortion this doesn't.

This mic is great, it produces great sound in a very simple frame. The one thing I would say is that a dead cat is needed if you shoot in the wind. Other than it does pick up some wind noise the mic is wonderful, easy to use and gets the job done.

Audio is absolutely perfect for its price. Bought it for my canon 7d in an effort to pull a little more audio out of the action sports that I film, Hopefully ill get a lavalier mic later on for interviews, but for now, this microphone is completely worth its price!
