Use for video livestreaming along with wireless lavalier. Combine both audio sources through a Rolls mini-mixer and voila- beautiful sound!

Will this offer years of service in a professional, everyday use environment? Probably not. However, it will give you a marked improvement in your audio quality at a fantastic price. Sound quality is best from a boom pole in my opinion.

This is a great microphone for a hobbyist or professional DSLR videographer. Even if you think the onboard microphone sounds good enough, any video pro will advise having a VideoMic in your gear bag. It also comes with an upgrade to a 10 year warranty, just for registering with Rode.

this is my first rode mic. the build quality is good. picks up sound fairly good. wish it was a bit more sensitive or amply the sound more clearly. but for the price, its a good deal. like the shock absorbant suspension to avoid mechanical noise.

Does a good job taking the audio up a notch on a DSLR. The only thing I wish it came with would be a good protective case. I keep it in the original packaging when transporting which is a bit cumbersome.

I've only used it once now... but I do love it. There's so much less ambient noise in my recordings. The mic is put together well and I love the shockmount. Only thing is that I wish it came with some sort of case either hard or cloth.

The VideoMic is simply great. Good audio quality, light weight, easy to use and the battery lasts forever ! I bought it to use with my 60D and the improvement on audio quality was huge. With or without it its like water and wine :D and - the best part - low priced ;)

This mic was actually bigger than I anticipated which was nice! The sound quality is heads and shoulders over the standard in camera mic. I would recommend this mic to anyone looking for a cheaper shotgun mic! The shock system works amazingly as well!

I use this with my dslr for short films and other nature type videos. The mic itself is great, the only thing that holds it back is my cameras preamps. Nothing an external recorder can't fix. But for the price it is in my opinion almost an unbeatable solution for greater sounding audio.

versatile and quick to mount, needs better placement so you can use viewfinder to take snap shots as well. your head hits the back when trying stills shots. Moving the mount forward and sliding the mic back to keep weight balance will enable both video and stills to be taken

this mic is a little touchy, so you have to try it out before you use it for something you want. It definitely is great, i even used it on a audio recorder. awesome sound.

Easy connection, secure mount, simple shock dampening system. 2 settings. Does improve sound recording. The high setting filters well unwanted noise. Will require extension bracket with some LCD monitor locations.

This produce is very handy when it comes to traveling around town with my camera backpack. The mic picks up sound very well and there are now downsides to it. GREAT PRODUCT! I shoot with the Canon T2i.

I use this for sound on a 5d mark II. It has some noise that is irritating but I was able to eliminate it by lowering the DB and cleaning it up in sound booth.

I have used this mic mounted to my dslr camera and I just used it the other day as a hand held mic in a very noise interview environment. It has preformed excellently in all situations. It was very windy outside while doing interviews and you could not hear any of the wind noise.

This mic is great, it produces great sound in a very simple frame. The one thing I would say is that a dead cat is needed if you shoot in the wind. Other than it does pick up some wind noise the mic is wonderful, easy to use and gets the job done.

I use the Rode video mic with my Canon 70D camera, and the audio quality changed for the good dramatically. It's very portable. It also has a feature to lower the decibles, although it's really small, but that doesn't matter. It's a great product at a great price.

It has a cheap lightweight plastic feel but works better than expected. A very good value for the relatively low price. I'm very glad I can improve the souns so inexpensively since I mostly use it for family videos.

You will need to buy a dead kitten/ wooly wind-jammer to really eliminate wind noise. Plastic construction seems cheap and flimsy BUT hasn't broken yet. Integrated shockmount is cute. Not bad for a first shotgun. Plenty of room for improvement IF you are willing to spend more money.
