I use this mic for DSLR video. It works great plugged directly into the camera, or into a JuicedLink preAmp, then into the camera. This design is far superior to their pervious device with the rubber bands. Delivers clean audio.

I am using this mic while recording video with my Nikon SLR. The sound is considerably better than the internal mic. The internal mic records all kinds of sounds from the camera and the surrounding area. The VideoMic is great for recording what the camera is pointed at.

Easy connection, secure mount, simple shock dampening system. 2 settings. Does improve sound recording. The high setting filters well unwanted noise. Will require extension bracket with some LCD monitor locations.

I have the older version of this microphone with the rubber band shock mounts, the bands dry up and rot out after about a week. This new mount is awesome! I have always loved the microphone for the price.

I love this rode videomic. Its so great. The sound quality is just amazing. Great for any beginners who want to make decent quality videos. I was a little dissapointed that the setting on the switch in the middle didn't fix the hiss from the agc.

This is a great mic for anyone shooting video with a DSLR and a must have upgrade for on camera audio. For the price of this product you can't beat the quality, strong construction and great audio quality. It isn't perfect for all situations but it is an all around great upgrade to your equipment.

Just began using my videomic at my son's soccer game. It picked up their voices on the field from afar without the intrusion of noisy parents nearby. It mounted easily on my Canon 5D Mark II and seemed quite sturdy. So far I am greatly impressed with the results I am getting from this product.

This produce is very handy when it comes to traveling around town with my camera backpack. The mic picks up sound very well and there are now downsides to it. GREAT PRODUCT! I shoot with the Canon T2i.

This mic is great, it produces great sound in a very simple frame. The one thing I would say is that a dead cat is needed if you shoot in the wind. Other than it does pick up some wind noise the mic is wonderful, easy to use and gets the job done.

I have used this mic mounted to my dslr camera and I just used it the other day as a hand held mic in a very noise interview environment. It has preformed excellently in all situations. It was very windy outside while doing interviews and you could not hear any of the wind noise.

It has a cheap lightweight plastic feel but works better than expected. A very good value for the relatively low price. I'm very glad I can improve the souns so inexpensively since I mostly use it for family videos.

I use the Rode VideoMic for making short videos on my Canon 5D MKII. Sound is excellent and keeps out all the noises that the internal mike would normally pick up from focusing, changing zoom distances, etc.

versatile and quick to mount, needs better placement so you can use viewfinder to take snap shots as well. your head hits the back when trying stills shots. Moving the mount forward and sliding the mic back to keep weight balance will enable both video and stills to be taken

I bought this to use with my canon 60d. I chose the shotgun over the stereo because isolating the sound is going to be more important that having stereo in almost every case that I'm shooting. I do commercials and wedding videos.

This is an excellent starter mic the the 5D and small video cameras... I had two before this one and sold them.. This one I'm sending to a friend in Cuba.

Good price, quality sound but cheap plastic takes this mic down a notch for me. The shoe, rubberband and and surrounding plastic break very easily. I caught the mic on a piece of fabric hanging from a door way and the shoe mount was done. Good mic but needs to be more durable in my opinion.

For the price, you cannot beat the quality & functionality of this well-built microphone. It is lightweight & needs to be handle with appropriate care. The cardioid pattern picks up surrounding sound well but keep central sound primary.

You will need to buy a dead kitten/ wooly wind-jammer to really eliminate wind noise. Plastic construction seems cheap and flimsy BUT hasn't broken yet. Integrated shockmount is cute. Not bad for a first shotgun. Plenty of room for improvement IF you are willing to spend more money.
