I spent many decades in broadcasting and I can say this mic has comparable sound quality. The only drawback is something for which you just need to be prepared. It picks up ambient noise very well, especially voices.

Don't forget to make sure whatever you're plugging the mic into has the ability to power the mic, it doesn't have it's own power. Once you get it working, it's great!

I'm very happen with my choice for a microphone for my Nikon Z-50 camera. In my opinion RODE makes very good mics and the dead cat fur cover is an extra added enhancement that is quite beneficial as it solves the issue of wind noise. The price was well within my budget and the quality is superb.

I used this on my t2i while filming at a convention this past weekend. Well worth the money for a real microphone vs the inadequate built in one. Helps reduce background noise from overpowering what you want to hear, no background hiss like the stock mic. Plug it in and go.

This mic has been a great asset to filming all those school programs our grandchildren are in. It's easy to use and light weight. The sound quality is wonderful and makes a big difference in comparison to the internal camera mic.

It produces a great, clear crispy sound while recording, as close to the real sound as I can imagine. An added benefit is that no batteries are required. It works off the camera battery after plugged in the camera.

I had many mics, but this one seems to really get the job done. Its really reliable compared to the wireless ones. Just need to plug it and its ready to go. I used it for blogging and small projects in the school I work at.

This microphone is great for improving the quality of audio for any videos that you will make. The shotgun mic has a very clean and crisp sound and is a huge improvement over any in camera audio that you will be using.

The instructions on the website state very clearly that this microphone does not have batteries, and so it draws on power from the camera in order to work. Be sure that the camera you intend to use this with will provide power to it, or it won't work. If your camera does not provide power, then by a microphone that has batteries.

I use the VideoMic in my YouTube videos and it is still way better than the 60D internal mic, but doesn't sound as good as the VideoMic Pro.

I like the Rode microphone a lot. It works a whole lot better than my Nikon D5200 camera's on camera microphone. The only issue I have faced has been from the Dead cat. It has a problem of shedding hair everywhere from the time I received the Dead cat.

I record family videos and also weddings and it does the job very well. The quality is very good for it's price. The fun part is I don't have to worry about battery for the mic like my older model I used to have.

I've tried cheaper shotgun mics and the audio was useless. I decided to cop the $100 and man I'm glad I did!

It needs a windscreen but otherwise we have gotten great sound from it! We work with little children all the time and they don't speak up so this captures those quiet voices as well as all the loud noises we need for our projects!

I'm not into a high budget gear, I bought 3 of them for the video wedding gig. The quality and built is impressive and I do not much for post production. VideoMic GO...you don't have to carry any batteries around and it's a simple device for my Sony Camcorder.

Very lightweight, size is not too big and great quality from 2-3 feet. Further than a few feet this mic is not so great but for the price its a great upgrade for a hobbist. Autofocus sound from the lens still creeps in to the audio.

I use the VideoMic on my Canon T3I and it's been wonderful! You can shoot inside or outside and it has good range while not picking up too much side noise. Great product!
