I use(d) it with my Canon 70D, and this mic is HORRIBLE. There's an awful screeching sound when the wind blows and it is UNUSABLE outside.

Works well. As long as your tripod mounted. Can get a little noisy when on the move

I purchased this mic with my Canon M50 camera. I bought the camera for vlogging. On several different video segments I can hear the camera ticking. Is that what I'm hearing? I don't know, but it's annoying. I need to buy a new shotgun mic. Anyone with recommendations, please let me know!

This did not work with the Vixia HF R72. And it did not work with my iPhone (yes I bought the adapter cord).

Bought this with hopes to use as an on camera boom mic. Used it at a wedding and at a event where I interviewed a couple people. The wedding sounds were okay, but very far away and barely adequate. The interviews were horrible, sounding like in a barrel. I will be switching this out for the Video Mic Pro most likely, as I have already returned this.

Pretty good mic in terms of price and structure, however it was not for me (pentax k30 doesn't have plug in for video from this mic). I appreciate B&H's return policy and assistance with this product and others that I've purchased

This mic is the worst. It just hosed my whole shoot. It added a ton of hum and high end noise. It should have been clean but instead it's a noisy mess, much much worse than the build in camera mic. What did you do to me Rode? betrayed

Just adding my 1 star to the group to help spread the word that this mic is a hot clicky mess. Don't buy.

Can't wait to use it. I am a run - and - gun type of shooter so this type of mic works well for what I need.

Since Rode apparently dumped their on-board digital audio recording mic (AKA: the Shure Hopper unit that just came out) and opted for this cheese-ball LOOK AT ME AND MY COOL COLORED TOY MIC as some sort of marketing misdirection, I would not place much stock in anything Rode offers going forward. Compare the specs too and you'll see the self-noise and dynamic range are sub-par. Ultimately I would rather get a Zoom H2n or Nagra Mezzo (the real shizzle!) and have ALL THE UTILITY of a DSLR audio mic/recorder AND stand alone recorder with great mics; which quietly says: Look at the real-world high-quality recorder I use for serious acquisition work! ...
