Super easy to use and when I hold it off camera, the sound quality really ups my game. I do get a clicking sound when it is mounted on camera and I saw that there were other users with this issue, too. I need to mess around with it more, but hopefully I can figure out what to do so I can use it hands-free on my camera (Nikon D500)

I love the Rode VideoMic, I have used them shooting weddings for years, and it is the best way to have backup audio in case your other mics don't follow through. The audio is always clear and you barely notice it is on your camera.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago. On the first shoot, I discovered that it buzzed, picking up noise from any nearby almost any nearby electronics. Contacted Rode, they basically dismissed my issue, saying it was just how they are. I threw away the mic as it was out of the return window. Recently, I needed a mic in a pinch, and a friend offered me his. Same model, but no noise issue. In fact, the mic itself is quite good for the money. Star off for dismissing customer.

This mic is perfect for the traveling videographer. No batteries? Yup! This mic runs off your camera's 3.5mm microphone jack. No more spacing out and leaving your mic on. I bought this mic for a trip I'm taking to Costa Rica to shoot a music festival. Now I can take mic batteries off my list. One less thing to worrie about. As far as sound quallity goes, its a Rode. That should answer your question.

Great product, I've only used it a few times, but so far I am very satisfied. The Mic is lightweight, so it doesn't tire you out while handholding and shooting. It also is extremely easy to setup and use! It really brings the audio/video experience to shooting with a DSLR to the next level.

For an amateur video maker this product works perfectly. Great quality in sound and construction! 10/10 would recommend!

Slightly better sound quality than with Canon 70D built in mic. Only difference this mic is shotgun type, so it records sounds that come from the front only, unlike my camera's built-in mic, that is omnidirectional.Light and easy to use, no batteries required.

Good price for the product itself. However, this mic must be used on a tripod. Any movement with this mic will completely kill any usable audio. Unless you're doing pretty up-close interview style mic set ups I would suggest shelling out and buying a higher quality mic.

This has been a workhorse on-camera shotgun for me - got very good audio in difficult environments. The microphone still works after nearly more than 5 years of abuse - the red plastic holder sadly snapped but nothing some duct tape couldn't fix (almost). A good don't worry if it breaks microphone - knocked a star because it didn't have an easy way to fix the broken holder.

WOW! I am very impressed with this mic. My T2i records sound well but this mic helps to recore sound even better...it makes my interviews sound professional! I really love it!

Very handy little shotgun mic for any starter videographer. It uses no batteries to capture sound. Just mount, plug in, and record. And for only $, the sound quality is quite decent.I wouldn't recommend this for professional, or even prosumer uses, but it's a great way to start on a budget.

If you just want the highest quality audio you can get with litetally no fuss, this is perfect. It is plenty sturdy, plenty good for the money and the plug-and-play style use is the easiest you can find. Simple, cheap and works. If you want better quality at a higher price check out the other videomic products.

I've only used this mic on a few shoots and it's already been a big improvement on the audio quality I bring back. There's no substitute for a good shotgun mic and this one certainly fits the bill for the price.

I've used this microphone with my Canon T2i and compared it without. It significantly improves the audio for all my videos. It makes my videos sound like the pros. I highly recommend it. The microphone is light but I usually use a tripod with it. No issues with B&H and they have been good to work with.

This mic is pretty nifty. Captures all sounds clearly as long as you have the sound level within your camera settings set properly. This is my first shotgun mic and I wouldn't mind purchasing another one if I decide to add more cameras to my arsenal.

First time to use this microphone I recorded 4 videos for work and went to play back and there was no volume to the videos. I switched the 3.5mm mini-jack output with an extra one I had and it worked great. The microphone itself is good but the mini-jack was defective.

My in-door evaluation so far has shown minimal off-axis attenuation of noise but it still beats the camera's built-in mics, especially for handling mechanical noise. I'll probably upgrade to the Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid, although at three times the price, but will first give the VideoMic Go more opportunities to prove itself.

I have used the Videomic Go for over a year and it has never let me down. For the price, you can not beat it. A lot better quality than the on board mic's on dslr's and Gopro's. The mic is very stout, when on in use, sits in a box of other camera stuff. You definitely need a dead cat for any outdoor video's but that's a given.

I attached it to my go pro and it's so sensitive that picks up the noise from my HERO5 Black. Yes I got a dead cat with it but that's only for wind. I will get a boom to overhead the microphone. I tried it not on the go pro and works very well. I've learned the importance of sound proofing, tried on my house and it picked up eco I didn't know I had.

I bought one as a backup for my higher end Rode. The front-back ratio is minimally better than nothing. It does illiminate the camera noise and ambient noise. But the cardiod is not nearly as deep as the more expensive Rode or a Sennheiser that I occasionally borrow.Frankly it is not much, if at all, better than the $ Takstar. It does have the advantage of not needing batteries. Save your pennies and buy the better videomic pro.
