I'm using this in a Wirecast live streaming setup on a Lenovo laptop capturing an audio feed from the house mixer. Setup was easy and it works fine.

I bought this to capture sound for live streaming video. Pros: Very nice interface, simple to use, flexible input/output options Con: Preamp doesn't have much amplification. I've used it with a common EV cardioid dynamic mic. I had to crank the input level all the way up to get a medium level over USB to my Macbook Pro. I haven't tried it as a preamp to a power amp, but that was not my primary need for a USB interface. I will try it with a condenser mic, but compared to my Mixpre6 over USB, it is quite a bit weaker. ... More

This is more than I thought it would be as far as quality and ease of using. Within only a couple of minutes I had it connected to my MacBook Pro and using it with Audacity. The monitor was also a simple hookup to my speakers. I run my mikes and acoustic guitar into a Behringer mixer and from the mixer to the Scarlett 2i2 and all is compatible and works like a charm. Very pleased that I bought this and the price was reasonable and affordable. B&H was superb and had it here within a couple of days. Can't say enough good things about their service! ... More

I attempted to use this unit with the dynamic mic (RE27) and found myself having to turn the gain up to nearly 100% while it did pick up my voice it also then picked up everything else including static noise...not ideal for voice over unless you have a mic pre in the chain. ALSO and important to note - at the time of this review 09/27/2012 the software effects did not play well with Mac Mountain Lion...

I've only owned this product for about 2 weeks but I have been using it on a daily bases to record lectures, and for live streaming. I love the simplicity of this device, it's just plug and play. So far I have used 3 different microphones for it, a Sennheiser e835, EW G4, and Shure sm58. All three work flawlessly, and I've even plugged in aux out from my X32 mixer and that also works really well. So far this has been a great USB audio interface.

I bought this for personal recordings, with use on Garageband, and it works like a charm. It is easy to use and records beautifully. I plugged in a mic and my acoustic guitar, and it sounded amazing. Plugged in my electric guitar an my Line 6 pedal board, and had hours of fun recording and fiddling around with it.

After having tried several Tascam interfaces to no avail I am happy to have finally found a product that works with Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5. This is music to my ears. It's compact, sounds great and very easy to operate. I love the fact that it's USB powered so I don't need to use a power cord to operate it.

I use this product to produce voiceovers primarily and to control my audio output from my iMac. I haven't used it for anything else yet but it would be fantastic for any kind of audio recording. The peaking lights on the gain nobs is a great feature. I use the 2i2 with Adobe Audition because I produce commercials professionally using the entire adobe suite. The 2i2 works seamlessly and all I had to do was install a couple drivers and adjust the settings in my workflow. Fantastic product, easy to use, inexpensive, and looks great too.

As a recording musician I have worked in studios with engineers using digital recording for years but have never attempted to do it myself, so I'm a newbie to computer recording. I couldn't believe how easy it was to setup this interface and integrate it with my Mac's recording software. I'm currently recording a project for a client remotely due to the pandemic. The 2i2 is hiss free, no noticeable latency, and easy to use because it has knobs and switches. I've used inputs for guitar and XLR, no problems. I highly recommend this unit.

For the last couple years I've used the Behringer u-phoria umc204hd, which is of comparable price and quality. However, lately playback through it would randomly yield static in the audio. This is a known issue online with not clear solution. So we got the Scarlett 2i2 and have been using it instead for weeks now, every day for long sessions, without any issues. Sound quality is excellent and the usb-c port is a great new feature. The Air setting adds a little boost to the mid/upper range which is nice for narration work. Highly recommended.

The kit had everything I needed to get up and running in a hurry. The interface is an incredible value! The only knocks I have against it are a big gain jump at the clockwise end of the gain pots (10dB+), and it could use a little more headphone volume. The mic stand at full extension is barely adequate for the heavy microphone, but it is of good quality. The headphones are a good value. The mic sounds good with voice, and of all things, tuba. There's plenty of headroom, and it easily captures the fundamental of the horn.

I had purchased this bundle in order to record audio for my YouTube channel. This is perfect for that. I like that it does not require a power adapter, that it simply uses the power provided to it from the USB port. Even though I have to have the volume for the mic really high to pick up when I'm talking, that is not the problem with the mic - simply that I'm not talking as loud as I should be. The only thing from this bundle that I have not used yet has been the mic stand - because I had purchased a studio arm, in order to make recording a little easier. ... More

I'm a pretty non-technical user when it comes to recording audio and video on my computer. I needed a simple but effective audio interface to be able to record voice and guitar. This box and its software was very easy to install, especially with the great teaching videos. It comes with a number of software products that weren't as easy to install (except for Ableton Live 10 Lite which is quite straightforward). My video editor brother commented on the high sound quality recently. Definitely recommended.

I had been using an M-Audio Firewire interface for several years, but when I switched from a desktop to a laptop I didn't have a Firewire port anymore and needed to go with USB. I almost bought another M-Audio, but a few people told me the mic pres were better on the Focusrite. I started checking reviews, and it seemed like a lot of people agreed. And, since B&H had the Focusrite for almost $k less, I decided to give it a shot. Everything I was told is true! The sound from this unit is warmer and much more pleasing to the ears. Makes my M-Audio sound sterile. ... More

I wish I had bought this interface years years ago! After installing the drivers and Focusrite Control, it's working great. Going direct into the instrument input sounds good on its own, and has no noticeable latency when I'm using amp sims. And, if I want to hear just my clean signal tone for live monitoring, the Direct Monitoring feature is excellent. I'm using the interface on Windows 10 with Reaper and Ableton Live.

I've been planning to have an audio interface for a while. I know one of my friends, who's doing a rock band, has been using this brand for years. So I just directly headed for this. And it just works as expected. The surprising point I didn't imagine is that it can be connected with both my headphones and a pair of monitoring speakers, and has separate knob for the volume of each. This simplifies the process I switch between, so that I don't have to trouble with the settings on my PC.

I've been using this interface for a couple of weeks and I am very happy with it. No complaints about the quality of the build or the electronics. Very easy set-up. I love the portability, although I mainly use it in my desktop setup. I recorded my child's electronic toy with a condenser mic and the sound quality was perfect. It would have been nice if it had a MIDI interface, but most people probably wouldn't need that and I have not found that to be a big deal

I have had the Scarlett 2i2 for over a year, and I have gotten so frustrated with it that I am considering buying a replacement interface from another company. My problem is that in Pro Tools, the Scarlett will _not_ accept a sample rate of 48kHz. If you google focusrite scarlett 2i2 48khz pro tools, youll find that this is a common complaint. While the company says this problem can be fixed in your computers audio midi setup, my experience (I am a Mac user) is that this does not work. I am tired of the fact that I constantly have to accommodate a machine that should be supportive of my workflow. So, if you use Pro Tools, I recommend you read up on this issue before you decide to buy. ... More
