Been using it for about three months now with my Canon XA 50. Used for both interviews and vocals. Sound quality is awesome. For the price point I consider it a great value. I highly recommend it.

Very directional. I borrowed a friends last month and after that I had to get one for myself. For the price, you wont be disappointed. A very handy little workhorse mic

I bought this microphone with budget concerns in mind. After using it I would definitely say that it is the best bang for the buck you can get. I will be using it for a long time on many projects in the future.

Purchased for recording on a documentary. Worked well. It is very directional. I almost wish it has a bit wider recording area, but it was great for getting the dialogue and not environmental noise. Exactly whatr you want a shotgun to do.

The mike is a all around good mike for the price. The self noise is somewhat low and the pickup pattern is what a shotgun mike should have. The length is also a plus being short enough to mount on my camera without having to worry about it showing up in the frame

I ordered this mic after reading and watching lots of reviews. And I'm not disappointed. It sounds good, has good pickup, and good off axis rejection. I would have liked a smaller case to carry it in, but that's not a big deal.

I have many mics, including the industry standard Sennheiser 416. I keep this mounted to my camera at all times. The bass response for acoustic guitar and voice is impressive. The first time I heard it I was surprised at how warm and natural it sounds. My only wish is that it were a little shorter.

This mic is great for field production jobs. Sturdy and the battery life is great as well if you use the lithium AA. The kit thats available is good quality as well. Haven't had a problem with it at all.

The AT897 shotgun mic, in my experience, works best when placed two to three feet away from the subject. The AT897 does an excellent job of blocking rear and side audio, yet it allows just enough for room ambience. I was very pleased with this mic when I tested it in various studio situations.

I'm a video hobbiest, I use this mic for interviews where I'm about 5 feet from speaker. The sound is clean with good rejection of off-axis noise. While this mic is not any where near the same quality as units costing several hundreds of dollars more, it is more than adequate for my needs. Also, IT IS SHORT, so it does not get to the shots when I use the camera in wide shots.

Easily the best value available in microphones. This shotgun gives you crisp, clear, professional sound at a fraction of what you would expect. Easily competes (and wins!) with mics costing three or four times as much.

I got this mic to use with my Canon XH-A1 for videotaping interviews in outdoor settings. It does a great job picking up the sound. It also works inside. As with all mics, the closer you get to the sound source, the better.

I use this mic on a new Panasonic AG-HMC video camera. The mic sounds great, as good as our long shotgun and it doesn't intrude in the frame and is a great price.

We are a non-profit government access channel. When looking for a microphone with great pick-up and a sensible price, the price was the first thing that caught my eye. After purchasing based on other recommendations, I was not dissappointed. Hands down, one of the best values I have ever purchased!

This the first mic that I bought and it works fabulously with my Canon HD XA10. It was easy to put together and easy to use. The case makes it easier for on the road type filming. The batteries also last very long with it. This mic picks up a clear quality sound. It makes my videos sound so professional. I LOVE THIS MIC!

This mic performs well. I had trouble with the on board mic on my T3i because I could hear myself breathing while recording video. It interfered with the natural sound i was trying to record. This mic is directional so the only sounds that are recorded are those in front of the mic. I've used this connected directly to the camera and connected to a Tascam DR-40. Great results both ways.

I use the mic for short multi-media interviews. Works great, I particularly like not having to mic my subjects and have a lav showing in the shot. Great sound and easy set-up, my only wish is for an on off switch. Terrific value.

I use this mic for both on-camera and boom micing, and it works great. Off axis noise rejection is good with a quality sound. I have two of them with no complaints. Comes with a box and a few accessories as well.
