This well made beauty is a best value for budget filmmakers. I use it with the Panasonic DVC80 mini DV cam to improve audio over on-board mic. I'm not sure why people are paying more for less. I'd rather save the extra money for production!

I bought two of these and mounted them in a movie set. Worked great, attached to and powered by my TASCAM recorder. Great results.

I've been using a pair of these for 3 weddings a week, 9 months of the year for about 10 years. Wonderful for getting reception guest interviews with loud dj or band playing. One mic had little Phillip screws fall out about 6 years in. I replaced them with eyeglass screws and it's good as new.

Amazingly compact and amazing sounding. Very powerful little mic that isolates the sound fantastically. On par with my other much more expensive and longer shotguns. Great for use in echoey, bouncy rooms. Worth every penny.

This is a great on-camera shotgun mic. It is rugged, fairly stumpy and picks up great reference audio. During some interviews the camera mic will sound so good that it is almost mistaken for the properly mic'd audio. The build doesn't feel cheap, it is all metal and very rugged. Fits well within our C300 workflow.

I opted for this mic because it is phantom powered and fits the bill for my Canon XF-100A (when using the supplied o-rings). I have a longer shotgun mic (also Audio Technia) but this one, because it is shorter fits better, stays out of the frame, and is nice because it doesn't use independent batteries. Haven't had a chance for an in-depth sound quality comparison so I'll have to the review there.

I had not had a microphone so good for my work as a documentalist, I would buy again, it is even very useful and efficient to record the sound using a microphone stick, highly recommended. For that price you get a great microphone, compete with other microphones of much higher prices

I purchased this mic to use with my Panasonic HMC-150. It fits the shock-mount perfectly. I shoot mostly weddings and this will be great for capturing the natural environment sound of the ceremony without getting the sounds that come from changing settings on the camera while recording like the on-board mic does.

I had been using an Audio-Technica AT 835b for on a Panasonic HPX370. The problem was it was a little longer than the lens and had to be taken off the mount when stowing the camera. I liked the reach of the microphone and decided to try the shorter AT 835. I am very pleased with the pickup, and the convenience of not having to remove the mic every time the camera goes in the bag.

I shoot a lot of documentary sytle events witht he Canon C300, and up until the AT875 I'd been using a Sennheiser 416 ($ mic). This mic is much shorter and lighter, and honestly I think it sounds a bit better. Probably the best bang for the buck I've ever spent on any piece of film gear! Five Stars!

Very small and light. Sound quality is good but limited. Bass is rolled off at 90Hz whether you want it or not. No controls for pad or bass roll off, phantom power must be external. That being said it sounds very good for the price and is very light and small.

I bought the kit and I'm very happy with it. The boom pole has the XLR cable inside which is nice and the shotgun mic works great. I use it for all my shoots and haven't had any problems with it. Great product!

I like the mic's size. Bought it as a substitute for the freebie mic thrown in with the camera I purchased. It has decent on-axis pick up. Subject voices fall off quickly when they move off-axis. Ambient sounds are not completely rejected.

This was included in the kit I bought to do some internet reviews for a supplement company. I'd been having troubles getting clear sound. So I ordered the kit and wow what a difference. Clear and balanced sound. Well worth the buck!

I bought 2 of these as shotgun mics for a Sony x70 and z150. I just wanted some decent nat sounds. I ended up buying a 3rd for by Sony F5. There mics are excellent for nat sound and I wouldn't hesitate to use them for dialogue if I needed.

Great little short mic that sits atop my new Canon XA-20 and captures clean, clear sound. I've only used it for recording outdoor sporting events, thus far, so I can't give it 5 stars until I see what kind of performance it offers under different conditions.

dynamic sound from a tiny mic, i used it on my sony ax2000, doesn't compare with on camera mic, its sound much better, soud is clear and sharp no noise the only thing that bothers me is that it's more thin than my camera microphone holder

Compared it to a friends bp4073 and we actually both liked the 875r more, at least for short range use. Sounded very similar and had a much shorter throw. Great back and side rejection. Absolutely tiny. Amazing value you for what it is. I only wish it came with self powered version.

This mic is perfect for mounting on a camcorder. For the price it is excellent and it size is correct for mic mounts.Good sound quality is very good. I like the phantom power because you do not have to worry about turning on turn on the camera you got sound. Good for spot news.
