Nice pictures
It s a good camera it takes nice pictures. But in the hand is not ideal. There is not grip. The kit lenses are ok. Build quality is great.

Perfect for tebe road
I love the camera, light and easy to use. I tried out all the settings and I love the final results. One factory setting that I don't like is no j.peg only raw images can be taken, but I downloaded an ap. that converts raw into j.peg. So I'm happy.

great value for the price, but has some lackings
the fact that this camera comes with 2 lens for just 500, is amazing, the camera is basically a Lumix G7 just smaller and with sensor stabilisation, which is great, 4k 30fps 100mbps, can record unlimited video, and the low light capabilities are actually better than some APS canons.... Now for the bads: Autofocus is horribly bad...its just now usable on video, on photos is actually not bad (on single shoot) but on video youll just wont be able ... Show More

Great Performance and Solid Value
Great camera and kit. The GX85 has every feature you will need in a compact camera. In fact, it has so many features that I find David Thorpe's book The Panasonic GX80/85 Menu System Simplified to be very helpful. Everything in the kit is useful, especially the 2 quality lenses that will meet most of your needs. Even the case is top notch. Overall a solid value. I have never been unhappy with a purchase from B&H.

Great little still camera. Not a video camera.
For an old school photographer, this camera is not very intuitive. Prepare for a learning curve unless you're well-versed in current digital cameras and Panasonic cameras in particular. Sure, you can take a fully-automated decent photo straight out of the box, but figuring out manual operation took some work. For example, if you want to use your vintage primes with a Metabones adapter, you have to choose a mysterious setting called Shoot w/o lens... Show More

Good images, but wouldn't buy again
The camera is so small, it is not easy to use in different modes. Tiny buttons and it's not intuitive. The manual (download) is 300+ pages. Can't turn off sound and flash together, so you can't use in a museum. B&H would do an RA, but my grandson will love it.

True pocket camera
This camera exceeded my expectations. Small size, has some heft to it (good), sharp pics and IBIS included. Love the 12-32 (effective 24-46) lens

Solid camera, great for entry
I've spent quite a while searching for a good balance between the price and performance for a mirrorless camera for a novice photography enthusiast, and my choice has fallen on GX85. So far, the camera is pretty much what I had expected it to be. Generally, slightly on a heavier side and not the most comfy ergonomics. But overall is great deal.

Nice camera
My point and shoot camera quit working and was quite dated so I threw it in the trash. HA! This one was on sale so I'll try it. I find it complicated to learn but i'm working on it. So I guess it will take a while to see if I really love it. Battery takes a long time to charge but I can get another battery with a wall charger. Oh, another thing I like is that it's small enough to keep it close in a jacket or shooting vest pocket.

Excellent quality product. Shipping was very fast and easy. BH always looking after customers. The camera itself has performed very well.

Lacks in User Friendliness
I have only had this now for a few weeks but so far have to say, disappointed in it. Compared to such likes of Canon where you can literally pick it up and get the controls down quickly, this thing requires lots of time and manuals, videos on how to do anything on it. The autofocus is lacking big time in mine maybe I got a bad camera but when I have anything on autofocus in the viewfinder the camera gives no effort in doing it at all. Most camera... Show More

Best purchase for the price
This camera exceed my expectations. The stabilisation on this camera is insane, the image quality is also good. However the battery is quite small, so you might have to buy few more batteries. Other than that, no regrets.

Love it!
Awesome camera!!!! Especially for the price! This was a gift for my daughter and she was ecstatic. The bundle from BH was wonderful and shipping was super fast. Pictures look better than my iPhone pro max by far. We live in Oklahoma and I wont buy from anywhere else if BH sells it. One of the last online companies with great customer service.

Great price.
I bought the Panasonic Lumix GX85 back in February 2019. It was a great price at $497 at the time. I have since bought the Olympus 17mm f2.8 lens and it works great with the camera. Hope to buy the Panasonic 30mm f2.8 macro lens which is on sale. A note that seems to turn people off... you do have to charge the batteries in the camera. I have solved that by buying a charger that cost $9.99. So i highly recommend this camera. One last note, I do have big hands, so you have to watch what buttons or wheels you accidentally push - I have a few times changed the settings.

Another Great Lumix in My Inventory
I have been a fan of Lumix cameras since my first GH3. I purchased the the GX85 to complement my GH5 as a dedicated camera for capturing time lapse footage on a motorized slider. Of course with the GX85 I can use any of my MFT lenses as well as other Canon lenses adapted with a Metabones Speedbooster. As a bicycle tourist the GX85 will also take the place of my larger Lumix cameras to save critical weight as well as storage space on extended ad... Show More

Great Camera
I bought this as a smaller replacement to my Canon Rebel T4i that was stolen. Truth is, with the larger lens on the Canon, it was always a pain to carry. Getting used to this, but awesome quality pictures and easy to change lens' on the fly. It's a great size. Still would rather have a smaller case, but if you want to carry both lens, not much of an option. The only drawback is that you have to change lens to get to a 150 zoom (which is a better ... Amazing deal!
I love it. Easy to use, not too heavy for travel, and the bag is of the best quality. Small but padded enough that you feel the camera is protected.

Love this camera
Love this camera. It is small, light, and takes great pictures. I can track video very easily with the video view finder. Controls are well separated. Takes its multiple photos thing like lightning. A winner, especially with the two lens package. I will be getting rid of my Nikon 5300 and its powerful 18-300 mm lens to focus on this new kind of camera.

Fast and capable
The two biggest reasons for upgrading to me were lens and speed. I have a 12 year old Fuji that was fantastic (I plan on keeping it), but it was cumbersome and very slow. A lag time of nearly a second on many types of pictures, and the exposures were slow also. The mirrorless construction of this camera allows nearly no lag time after the shutter press, and a quiet and vibration-free experience. The lens is not a Leica, but Panasonic does work wi... Misleading info fro Wi-Fi
I like the camera, lenses are pretty sharp. But the sales guy needs to explain that Panasonic's software does not work with Macs to facilitate image transfers. You can get third party software, but I haven't tried it yet.

Initial impressions
I am an amateur photographer and have been a loyal Pentax customer since the Pentax K1000 came out many years ago. I bought the Canon S90 as a pocket camera a few years back but I recently bought the Panasonic because I wanted something a little bigger but smaller than my SLR. After reading reviews on the Sony a600 I was impressed by the deal that B&H were offering with two lenses covering focal lengths from 24mm - 300mm, camera bag, filter and s... Show More

Upgrade from point and shoot
I upgraded from a Canon SX260HS. I have been looking at small mirrorless cameras for a while and after ready many reviews, decided on the GX85. Picture quality is very good. I would have had to spend twice as much or more to get better picture quality and more features. Excellent bang for the buck!
