Best Panasonic so far
I bought the GX85 hoping to get an even better image stabilization than my GH4. That's exactly what happened. Now it's my number one video camera. Perfect! I'm left-eyed too. The problem of accidentally focusing with a touch of your nose, mentioned by some customers, is easy to solve: Go to Menu/Custom/Touch Settings/Touch Pad AF/Off. You don't have to switch off the whole Touch Screen.

Great B camera for GH4 / Dual IS is outstanding
I had been looking for a more compact camera to act as the b cam for my GH4 (the GH4 is small but I wouldn't call it compact). The GX85 totally fit the bill! I've been using it handheld and the IBIS does a much better job with smooth handheld camera work than just about every optically image stabilized lens I've used. The pans are smooth and you don't get that jerky motion so coming in stabilized lenses. Combined with one of the Dual IS compatible lenses and you have IMO the BEST image stabilization available.

Perfect carry around camera
Because of Parkinson I have a serious tremor in my right arm and hand, and of course I'm right handed. This camera with its wonderful OIS makes my photographs and videos perfectly clear. I have owned many different Canons, Nikons and Sony's, but nothing come close to this cameras easy of operation and great!!! photographs.

Tracking forcus is no good
Sony A6300 auto tracking is working good. My Lumix GX85 tracking forcus is terrible. I don't beleived Panasonic is behind Sony. I don't like at all.

nice addition to my micro 4/3 lineup
The GX85 has a lot of nice features, even some which my GX8 doesn't have. I like the new sensor I.S. which seems to work quite well, and in connection with the lens I.S. allows for hand held shots even at low light without cranking up the ISO and increase the noise. The size and weight is comparable to the GX1 which it is replacing in my lineup. The lens is very compact and of good quality. In the collapsed state it's not larger than the 20mm pan... Show More

Compact size ideal for travel
This camera is a beauty, the size and how compact it is. I was just sold on how I can easily keep it in my pocket when I travel. I do feel I have a lot of features on this camera which I don't use. Wish they were less features so it's less confusing. I was a regular user of Nikon D90 SLR with time it started becoming hard to carry it everywhere because of the size. I started shooting on my iPhone instead, coming back to using manual settings was ... Show More

Great Compact Camera
This is the first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera I've used. In the past, we've primarily shot with the Canon 5D Mark III for photos/video and Sony RX100 IV for video. For stills, I love that it gives me something in between to shoot with. Although I haven't done much in terms of switching the lenses yet, but I've liked how the photos have come out with the kit lens. You get great manual control and the camera shoots well in low light. Panasonic GX85
Ive had the pleasure to pick up a new panasonic gx85 a few months back. I was so surprised with how compact and how durable the camera truely is. It handles low light so nicely as well. Perfect camera for walking around in everyday situations. The focal length on the cameras kit lens is actually pretty nice to with a good zoom range from 12-32mms. This camera really opened my eyes to how clean and how much quality can still be kept within the pho... Show More

Excellent For Everyday Use!
I am a commercial lifestyle photographer and was gifted this camera in return for an honest review. This camera has great features. The top 3 feature for me are the wifi capabilities, the 4k burst mode feature, and the controls layout. As a photographer I tend to document my life daily via instagram and the camera's wifi feature allows me to download high quality images straight to my phone. From there I am able to edit and post directly to my fe... Show More

Great size and features for micro 4/3
I've been a long time Canon DSLR user, which I had been happy with, minus the size. I've been dabbling in micro 4/3 for about a year now, trying out a number of Olympus and Panasonic models. From all that I've tested, I think this one has the best combination of features and size that exists in micro 4/3. For the longest time the 5 axis image stabilization of the Olympus cameras was a big selling point over Panasonic. This is now no longer the ca... Show More

convenient
I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. After using the camera for a little over a month I have to say it gets the job done. For such a small compact camera, it provides pretty good image quality. I found my self using this camera when I didn't feel like carrying heavy gear or was just panning to go out. I was able to fit it in a small bag or coat pocket and use it whenever. The size and weight definitely made it convenient.

Fun camera!
Lightweight with lots of bells and whistles. Can be a point and shoot or advanced use. Has lots of standard settings. No complaints with the camera. The camera strap is awful. Cheap.

Great, portable camera
First, some context: I am an amateur, hobby photographer who received this camera for free in exchange for an honest review. I have been using the kit lens exclusively. Before receiving this camera, my primary-use camera was another mirrorless, and I have not shot regularly with any dSLRs. Overall, my experience with the GX-85 has been great. Image quality is great, and I have been particularly impressed by its performance in the lower-light situ... Show More

Awesome Camera
Great image stabilization - this was my biggest surprise. Other features that caught my attention: shoot fast action with ease, easy-to-use Wi-Fi connectivity, amazing light capture and 4K video and photo functions - isolates video frames at 30 frames per second as high resolution photos. It gave me excellent results and it's friendly to use. It definitely exceed my expectations because it is an excellent walkabout camera and lightweight.

Great Camera
I'm very impressed with the Panasonic GX85. I also use a Panasonic GH4, Samsung NX1, Sony A7Sii and RX10ii. I shoot mostly video but also stills. I purchased a US version to get 4K 30p rather than the PAL version, I do wish Panasonic would make all their cameras PAL/NTSC switchable like Sony do. The GX85 has to be the best camera I've ever used, here are my comments - The IBIS is superb, best from any camera I've filmed with. The 4K video is supe... Show More

Tons of features
So much is packed into this, only a few things could have been done better. Wish it had a mic input is probably the biggest one for me, doing about 80/20 photo/video. Image quality is great with non-pro lenses. Dual IS is fantastic especially in 4k video. Not much jitter while panning. EVF isn't the best, but I don't use it anyway.

Great camera, gives a hard time to Olympus
A 5 star would be given if the camera had weather-sealing and mic input, otherwise a perfect combination of functions, size and picture quality.

Great feature-packed camera
I love this camera so far. It's fast, reliable and produces very high quality photos, while being compact and discrete. The IS system is nothing short of amazing, video quality is superb and the camera is rich with technological innovation. The DFD system is also very good. It doesn't match DSLR phase detection based focusing systems, but for anything other than sports it's enough.

Lovely
I bought the camera with the intent of shooting 4K video with 5 IBIS system in mind, little did I know that this magnificent feature just outshined other specs, like the lacking of v-log or any other video setup preferences... Even though this fact was traumatic for me the camera is excellent make no mistake. Shoots splendid images and videos. I just hope that panasonic will update firmware for gx85 to have V-Log.
