Condenser mic has great range and picks up awesome audio detail and shock mount is very decent, but wind guard doesn't make much difference in outdoor locations. Good battery life. Comes with most cables and adapters needed for recording audio for video, however the connectors feel very rough edged and sometimes get stuck once plugged in from either male or female end. Will definitely replace them as soon as possible.

Bought as a B&H Deal. There are plenty of audio tests on YouTube. Kit comes with all you need. Build quality is nothing to write home about. Could use this as a kicker. Not recommended for big gigs. If you're just starting out, this mic is worth every penny.

The overall sound quality is pretty good both with the supplied battery and with phantom power, but if there is any ambient sounds other than what you are tying to record they will be heard in the recording. I once used it to record an interview and when I played it back everything the people in the next apartment said could be heard. Turning down the sensitivity does help some.

I was looking for an inexpensive shotgun mic that could be used on or off camera. This kit came with everything I needed, including a long XLR cable with an adapter to plug into my camera. In my initial tests the quality of the audio is good, although not quite as good as my wireless lab mic. Good quality for the price.

I use this much in most of all my Short film Movies and interviews. the length it will pick up sound is amazing just point and shoot. I Would future invest in a Phantom power Shotgun nut this will take care of you until then if you on a budget. The items that comes with it I personally use all of them only thing I dislike is the long XLR Cable hard to put back in case. Overall it'd Excellent and I recommend it to a friend or others.

Needed an boom mic ASAP with a good pick up range for a documentary and this was it! Not only did B&H have a great price they shipped it out the same day ordered. I love the versatility of the kit and having everything you need for a microphone setup in one case. The case could have been a little bigger so the accessories would not be so tightly packed but it still has too many ups for the one down. LOVE IT!!!

As shotgun mics go, this is a very inexpensive one... and for the price, I was surpirsed at the sound quality. Certainly not professional quality, and from what I can tell, it's far from the durability and sound quality of higher priced microphones, but for most pro-sumer uses, this is a passable solution for situations where a lavalier is impractical or aesthetically impossible. It's a keeper!

All in one kit which was an amazing value. I chose this product against all the others at this level because of the XLR factor. You can use this mic with all levels of camera and will move with you as you upgrade gear. I used it in an interview situation mounted on my camera and it got awesome isolated audio.

I receiver my shotgun mic last week, very quickly as always with b&h. Did some test connecting it directly to my camera (d3300). The sound is way better than the inboard mic of the camera. But where it really shines is using it with the zoom h1. I'm looking foward to some promotional videos that will be producing shortly.

I use this mic for interviews attached to a boom pole and it picks up the voices really well. Excellent sound quality at a reasonable price. My only complaint would be that the cables that come with it in the box aren't the best quality and I would recommend, to get the most out of this mic, purchasing better cables.

I don't know if its that my camera has a good internal mic, or this item just doesn't add much capability. I have tested it and cannot tell the difference. I also found no documentation for the item. It is a nice complete package with connectors and adapters.

This package has a lot bang for the buck but the sound quality is just average which you should expect for the price. Please note that Iv only used it once before I was asked to review. First off it came with plenty of extras which is great! However I did notice a difference in sound quality from another shotgun mic I own. I'll update my review once I've used it a little more.

While this comes with a lot of gear the bottom line is the microphone itself does not have very good range. I use it with my GH2 and the best sound quality comes when the microphone is at most 2 ft from the subject, which makes it difficult to use as while the kit has a long dmx cable, it doesn't have the 1/8 inch adapter like on the short cable it includes. Also, I don't know if it's me, but I can't get it all to fit in the kit as when it first came.

Used the XM-55 Shotgun Microphone by Vidpro for a recent still and video shoot. I mounted it on a tripod-mounted extension arm with the adaptor cable connected to my DSLR. The sound capture was excellent, little or no autofocus noise (the separation of Microphone and DSLR via adaptor did the trick) and good audio. Really worth it if you want to improve your finished product.

This shotgun mic performs well - does what it's supposed to. Shooting sports the mic can pick up players voices from the stands, and from across the field, be it football, soccer, volleyball. Going to purchase another...It is slightly long for my Panasonic HMC-150, I slide it all the way back and it works fine. The phantom power is great.

Overall the Microphone is a good quality microphone, so it is great for new film makers. The only problem with this set is that the XLR cords that come with it are poor quality. They don't fit well with the microphone and my camera. I highly recommend getting a $10 cord to replace the ones included.

I picked up this mic to use on a canon AX20. It's small enough not to affect filming. It's light weight (I don't even notice it). The sound quality is amazing. And of course you can't beat the price. Comes with many extras.

This kit includes what you need if you are looking for basic beginner shotgun mic at an affordable price. The sound quality is ok for ambiance sound, but if you look for nice and clean sound recording, you need to look for pro gear.
