I wear these for music and for podcasts. I cannot imagine better sound. I wear a pair of Softie ear covers and the sound remains fabulous. They are lightweight. I wear them working out at the gym; if someone talks to me, sound stops for the conversation and then, I have to tap to resume. It is so sensitive, that if I count the number of times lifting a weight very softly, it will stop, thinking it is a conversation. LOL. It is a bit early to be doing a review as I have not had them a month yet. If something changes, I will re-evaluate. At this point, I highly recommend them for someone who likes music. ... More

Good quality sound and isolation for music listening, with acceptably high volume levels. Be sure to install the Headphones app if you use it with a mobile device, it grants access to a slew of options including equalizer settings. Battery hasn't even reported under 100% yet, I've listened to several hours of music and several more of podcasts. Is perfectly comfortable to wear. One particular negative note is that it can get hot and sweaty where the cups seal against your head. This is to be expected, but worth noting if you listen for extended periods. I would not recommend this set for working out. Cleans off easily however. ... More

I wanted a set of headphones that would be comfortable and to sound excellent, I actually researched these ones against Bose, and found that the Sony 1000XM4 headphones came out tops, as there are features on the Sony that Bose seem not have, like talk pause, hand pause, take off from head pause. Comfort is really comfortable, you do not know you have them on, you can speak to people without taking them off your head as the sound is paused, and automatically comes back on after some silence, if you are a serious music buff then these are of excellence. Bluetooth connection is very quick and easy. ... More

These are really good headphones. The sound quality is excellent and reveals new details and nuances in old favourites. The Active Noise Cancellation is something to behold and it's amazing how well it works. The headphones are comfy and the controls are good too. It's worth setting the app up although it is a bit clumsy and isn't the best designed app it works fairly well. These headphones are expensive and if they last then they are worth the expense. They are good for commuting and general listening but not really suitable for the gym as will fall off and I don't feel like it's a good idea getting them sweaty. ... More

The sound and customization of this headset is great. Although it does not cancel out everything, the noise-canceling is excellent, which allows for peaceful and isolated listening. The issues that I have run into are: (1) Once in a while there is a momentary drop in bluetooth connectivity, (2) the microphone for calling and receiving calls is severely lacking making them not suitable for regular phone calls, and (3) on a nit-picking level the USB-C to USB-A cable is very short, but it does help with keeping things neat and tidy in the case. To summarize, this is a great headset for listening to music and other visual/audio media, but not for making/receiving calls. ... More

First off: I haven't had a pair of noise cancelling headphones before, so I don't have much to compare them to except 3 minutes on a friends' Bose set. But they're really good. Setup was easy, sound quality is high, they fold up to a fairly small size and the noise cancelling works well on low-mid frequency content. If you're listening to something, it's very rare outside sound will be audible. The touch control system on the side is also well thought out. 1 point off for: - slightly cheap feeling construction, although it keeps the weight low - hands-free call quality is noticeably lower bitrate than the music ... - Noise canceling is good for removing low, monotonous sounds, but won't completely block noises like dogs barking unless you play audio - Battery life is excellent, the battery lasts through a couple of days of near-continuous use before running out - Headphones are comfortable and compact, and fold down into a good size for travel - Audio quality is good and headphones maintain stable connection over fairly long distances - Automatic switching of noise canceling mode is fairly annoying b/c it ignores it when you set the noise canceling mode manually, but this can be fixed using the app

I moved to these from a pair of B&W PX headphones, when those ones just stopped working a week out of warranty and B&W was no help. Compared to the PX: Sony has better noise canceling. It's beautiful, just a quietness. No feeling of suction or background hiss - just silent. Really impressive. Pads are softer, and much more comfortable, especially with glasses. App is better with more customization. The Sonys use more plastic but look and feel really nice, imo. They look better on the head, due to the way the band is routed (closer on the sides of the head). I haven't tried the PX7, but compared to the older PX, the Sonys are a clear win. ... More

Does all the features it says and sounds great for the most part. The only issue is the touch pad is like a smart phone so if you wash your hands a lot to the point it's chapped it might not recognize your touch. I work in the medical field and I wash my hands so much the bio id on computers won't recognize my fingerprint. If this is your same issue then you may have similar problems working this headphone. My solution use your pinky or some other finger you don't wash as much to swipe the controls. Also I don't care for 360 audio as most recordings aren't recorded that way yet, but it's ok to know it's 360 ready I suppose. ... More

This headphone line was only missing true multipoint audio before, and with this release it now supports two devices being connected simultaneously with both hfp and full stereo audio. It handles switching sources smoothly, and allows me to fully use music on my computer and phone, while still taking a call on my phone. Before I couldn't have the full audio on my phone if I wanted to play music on my computer, rather I'd have to switch from one source to another or just keep my phone connected for calls only. I'm impressed at how well Sony had dethroned Bose as the king of wireless noise cancelling headphones. ... More

Purchased around a month ago to upgrade previous headphones. They are worth the money. They have some great features, such as turning off noise cancelling automatically if in noisy areas (such as crossing a road) and if you fall. They are loud enough, cancel noise really well and have good bass. They are able to connect to multiple devices, so I can easily switch between my phone and laptop, without having to disconnect and reconnect them. They’re a great colour, the storage case is good quality, they fold compact very easily. I’ve used them almost daily for a month and not needed to charge yet. ... More

I absolutely love these new headphones. I bought them because I wanted good noise cancelling for when I'm at work as I have ADHD and background noise can be very distracting. Not only is the sound quality excellent but the noise cancelling is absolutely brilliant and exactly what I needed. The headphones fit great and stay comfortable even if I wear them for hours. It was very quick and easy to connect to my iPhone right out of the box and the accompanying Heaphones app is good for making EQ adjustments and level of noise cancelling. I haven't tried the ambient sound modes as I'm not really interested in those but I wouldn't be surprised if they're top tier as well. ... More

These headphones worked really well for me for the little over a year I had them, until today, when they nearly blew out my left eardrum with an incredibly loud and high-pitched feedback sound, that I unfortunately exposed my ear to several times while attempting to see if it went away. Apparently this is not an uncommon issue with these headphones. For nearly $300, I would have hoped they'd last a long time. Instead, I may have been rewarded with permanent hearing loss in my left ear, and I can only use them powered off for fear of damaging my hearing further. Buyer beware. ... More

Went back and forth between these and the Bose QuietComforts II and the 700s. I had the QuietComforts for a long time and loved them so thought I would just upgrade to the 2s but after a lot of research, I realized that both would be great choices! So why not try something new. Love the sound quality, USB-C charging, nonie control, etc. All working great! Use for video editing and traveling. The active noise canceling is cool although I need to dial in the setting some more. All in all, love them!

The sound is great without tweaking the EQ, bass is clean, if you enjoy heavy bass these will do the trick. ANC is crazy good, dual connectivity works great, I use them every day and I switch from iPhone to MacBook Pro constantly with no problem. I've put these to the test listening to Dolby Atmos and 360 sound, not disappointed at all, also sound great when watching movies, the sound placement is awesome. In regards to battery life, I charge them on average about every 3rd day.

If you've never tried ANC before, you're in for a surprise. The cancellation part of the name is misleading. It's more like noise reduction. I can still hear the bus engine and people chatting around me pretty clearly just a bit less loud, which is something reviews don't really tell you. So I'm assuming it's probably worse on airplanes since they are louder. Sound quality is good but not mind blowing, and it gets really bad if you disable ANC while listening to something.

However these headphones have changed my mind in what is possible. Clear sounds, noise cancelling is almost magical and easy to pair and use. I haven't used any of the advanced features like pairing to two devices, but the touch interface to pause, skip, ets works well. It also pauses music when you take the headphone off and plus when put back on your head. That is pretty nice. Overall very happy with the is purchase. ... More

These headphones do exactly what they advertise. Noise cancellation is top-class & comfort is pretty crazy (super light). BUT the only thing is that the frequency response above 16kHz is severely lacking & it's quite noticeable. Even in the wired mode where it's rated for the usual 40kHz, still the same situation. Firmware was fully up to date. I try & keep my ears in tip top shape as to not interfere with my mixing work. Interesting thing is that certain wireless earbuds have the same frequency range & doesn't sacrifice any of the highest end, making for a more fulfilling sound experience. Of course it's not a direct comparison, but it's something to note. ... More
