I needed good over the ear cans to isolate sound for audio editing. Clear, excellent volume, good range, good sound. If I were editing music I may need to step up to a pair that costs a couple of hundred more, but for spoken word and basic sound, these are great for recording and editing. I have to wear phones up to 8 hours a day, and these are comfy and light. Best in its price range, and worth every penny.

After borrowing this model from my audio-video son for a year, I have finally made the plunge. These headphones are great, comfortable, not too isolating, and very linear for a classical music buff. Presence is very good. You just won't find better headphones for the money. The long cord is a real plus!

unit was fine for about 3 months then the right side quit. attempted to contact sony cust service at 8667669272 and kept getting that I had to contact the professional service dept. which is the number I was calling, after 3 weeks of trying I gave up. I am not happy with the unit or cust service. I would not buy again.

I needed to replace a pair of headphones and decided to go with the MDR-7506. The Sony MDR-7506's are as nice as advertised. The case is actually too small for the Sony MDR-7506's but happened to be perfect for another smaller bluetooth set that I use. I'm can be a sucker for the extras but need to refrain.

I've used these headphones for decades, both personally and professionally. I work in radio and prefer these Sony headphones to any other. They're comfortable and sturdy -- I had my previous pair and gave them a lot of use for more than 25 years before they finally wore out. I expect this new pair will do the same.

I bought my first pair 14 years ago and recently replaced the earpads. Now I have the new set plugged in right next to the old set, into my focusrite box. I cannot tell the difference, either physically or sonically, between the two.

These headphones provide the best quality sound of any set I've ever owned. Also, they are comfortable to wear. I use them nonprofessionally (just to listen to music, not to mix), but I'm a pretty intense audio nerd, and they certainly meet my expectations.

this is an amazing headphones that is really hard to compete with, I have the MDR-7520 and I love the quality of it, I decided to buy MDR-7506 headphones to use more often on field, specially that I mostly work in unfriendly environments, this will make the more expensive MDR-7520 lives more. Highly recommended

The Sony 7506 headphones are a staple in our production house and are a little better with the deep earpads by sealing our ambient noise. The included carry case was also a nice addition, it is sturdy and is better for managing the cord that a pouch or bag.

These are not standard headphones or ear buds. They are professional headphones for monitor live stream audio, etc. and do a great job. The audio quality is excellent! My only wish is that they were a little more comfortable for wearing for extended periods of time. I have a large head, so that may be the issue.

This is my sencond 7506 and I just bought it as a backup. I use this headphone for video editing and encoding and have been using my firtst one 5 days a week for eight years now but it is sitll in good condition. Ear pad is somewhat vulnerable and you may need to replace it every year or two but if you think of sound quality, durability and price, there is nothing better than this one.

Great for monitoring audio when shooting video. If you're on a budget and can't afford Sennheiser; Sony headphones and mic kits are a nice alternative. Good quality, durable and compact which are all pros when in the field. I've used Sony headphones since the mid-90s and still have my first pair.

I am an audiophile who enjoys spending evenings immersed in jazz, classical, big band, classic rock ... a wide range and wide variety from my recorded collection and subscriptions. I could not justify professional headphones, but these are PERFECT for those occasions when the rest of the household does not want to hear my music.

Excellent audio monitoring for everything from midi studio to prosumer camcorder with low impedence. these are especially good monioring devices with weak audio level. Rugged enough to take on my road trip to chicago. comfortable to wear on 3 days of wall to wall video coverage of a large client meeting.

I use these set of headphones at work mixing and editing audio and video, I also own a pair of Seinhesser HD and beyertronic's with the velvet cushioning; compared to them these still have great bass and good mid and high ranges. They are accurate and not much sound from outside leak in. Def a great set to have in the studio!

I work in the entertainment industry but, as I'm more visually discerning, I have no real appreciation for critical listening. On the advice of a local sound guru who described the MDR-7506 as his recommendation and the industry standard I purchased these cans for my father-in-law who also is very sonically-inclined. He loves them. Hope that helps.

I've used the MDR-7506 headphones since 1998, both for work and personal use. For daily use they just about a perfect blend of size, weight and comfort. Their audio response is very flat and neutral, which is exactly why they are preferred for professional work. Just bought a pair to replace my personal ones from 1999 that have finally worn out.

I was mislead to think that these headphones did not come with a bag. However, it does! In addition, B&H in their accessories area had a bag to buy. So I purchased the bag, but in fact did not need it. So, don't buy a bag for these headphones, the package comes with a very nice one.

We have several edit workstations in our office and all are equipped with these headphones. They're durable, perform well, and are cost effective. This is the model we go to when headphones are needed.
