I have used this mic for years. It is a great all around mic. It sounds great. It's durable. It's priced right. In fact about 6 moths ago I was on a shoot and a guy helping to un-Mic a guest accidentally dropped the mic into a glass of water! I immediately yanked it out of the cup and blew it dry. The thing works as good as it always has. Not sure how it survived, but it did!

We are just now replacing our old sony mics with new ones. Give Sony Credit these mics where 25 years old. For Lav mics to work that long is really pretty amazing. The new ECM-44's sound great and we know they will last along time if taken care of.

Used for taping interviews. Excellent sound quality. Battery lasts a very long time, but remember to take it out - there's no on-off switch. Would recommend buying one or two additional black foam pop filters, since these tend to become lost if you are not careful.

It's easy to know when it's time to replace these lil' guys, because the slightest move by your interviewee means horrible crackling in the headphones! I hate that, and I love that Sony keeps these moderately prices in the $100 range!

This mic is a must have for anyone doing independent documentary production. It's a fail safe back up for wireless mics, and the price is super cheap. I know folks who have had this mic for 10 years.

The mic is very solid and is great for interviews. I've used it several times in the couple weeks I've had it and I can't believe I didn't already own one. If you are going wired, this is the best cost/performance you can get!

I am really hard on this model of microphone and it has never failed me. The cable is long enough, so that in emergencies, when you forget an xlr, you can still salvage a spot news interview. The sound is good too.

I do a lot of filming in the Holy Land and wireless mic systems are not always allowed. This EMC-44B is just what I depend on to maintain the same audio quality as the Sony wireless mic. I've also been a TV journalist for many years and this mic is all we used. Great for the price.

These mics were purchased for great quality audio production in the making of a full length film, and they have been working wonderfully to meet that need. We are excited to see and hear the final product produced with these microohones.

Great lav mic. Was my first so don't have much to compare it to, but listened to a large number amount of tests and this compares to some pretty high-end lav mics.

I've only had the chance to put them through one interview. I popped in the in-line AAs, plugged them into a Marantz 661D, and did an interview. The sound came out great. My previous lapel mics were a disaster to work with; based on this first run, they were easy to set up and captured good sound.

I use this mic all the time for broadcast news sit down interviews. Sounds good and a cheaper alternative to similar lavs.
