This isn't really a review, but just comments. I come from the film days and from the Canon 5D III, the Sony a7r and the Sony RX100 11. I loved the a7r except that I went through several ear plug sets because of the shutter click. The a7r 11 is way heavier than the a7r, but the improvements in shutter noise and button placement and design plus the delight-to-use EVF makes this a winner for me. The image quality seems like that of a medium format camera. For me a camera has to feel good to use, and this camera does. I will probably develop back problems from lugging it around however, but I am keeping it. For travel, I will still use the Sony Rx100, 11. ... More

Excellent camera. My only complaint is that it takes too long for the camera to process images for viewing.

As a long-time Canon user I bought both the 5Ds R and the Sony to compare functionality and use. I primarily take stills but wanted a capable 4K video camera. The video is great but I have not experienced the overheating issue. However, for stills the focusing is very slow compared to most of the Canon bodies, even the SL1, in low light conditions. It has a very nice size and battery life is OK but the bottom line is the focusing speed under adverse lighting conditions.

I've finally stored away the film cameras. The ONLY downsides to this camera are the mushy dials and the AWFUL Sony menus.
