Still the best dynamic mic for a lot of applications. I use it to amplify my cellist during rehearsals, sounds great. I also use it with a ribbon mic to capture my tube amps. Great stuff and tough as nails too!

The SM57 is iconic. These are workhorse mics. I think there are plenty of mics that sound better in the same price range (ish) of these, but anyone looking to work in audio should own atleast two 57s.

I use this mike all the time when i record my music, and it hasn't let me down yet. Outside of the occasional harsh high note (which can be fixed with a little EQ), it has a great sound, is easy to use, and is one of the best recording equipment purchases i have bought!

These things are an institution. If you are just getting started, buy as many of them as you can afford. You will use them all. If you are a seasoned veteran, you don't need me to tell you about them.

Just used this mic to record a rock concert and the audio came out amazing. For just around $100 it's hard to go wrong.

Make sounds louder by plugging this into a thing with a cord or whatever and then putting it in front of what is making the sound. It comes out louder on the thing! You can also use it as a hammer or a blunt weapon.

Anyone looking to work in audio should own at least four 57s. I think away. Great snare mic top n bottom. In the forty years of playing drums and 30 of them really playing drums. I only lost one mic to damage. So yes I would own FOUR SM57s MICS.

What more can I say, but that this is a must for any recording engineer/musician. And for you guitarist....Put this and a Sennheiser 421 in front of ur amp...And u'll be fine ;) But this is honestly fine for any close miked recording.

Thinking about getting one of these? Get it. It does exactly what you want it to. Great for micing anything and not too terrible for background vocals. You'll probably end up with athe least one of these if you are serious about recording or playing out.

Very pleased with mic performance and durability. Expected a cheap stand, but seems sturdy and of good quality. I am very picky when it comes to electronics, but very satisfied with this product.

No hay palabras, no conozco sonido que no pueda ser registrado aceptablemente por este micrfono. y tampoco conozco locacin a la que no pueda ser llevado, haga lo que haga, vaya donde vaya, siempre llevo un par en mi maleta.

Hey, I was SM57-less all along, then got me 3 of them (from BH Photo Video) for instrument miking (including drums), and now I'm placing an order for more of these. You-can't-go-wrong. Only thing though, I was wondering why the top head spun around freely. It does not come off as a result, but it just feels strange/cheap in this area.

I needed a mic for my sax. It works great and the additional stand and cable for 10 dollars more was a deal that I couldn't pass up.

I use the SM57 for recording guitar amps, speakers in isolation cabinets and snare drums. Excellent construction and performance and Shure has kept the price at $99 for as long as I can remember. An excellent tool for recording.

The Shure SM57 needs no review, it's proven it's quality over and over. This is a great package deal when you figure the cable and stand are free. No they're not the greatest but they get the job done well for home use. No complaints, would buy again!

I bought it to record some vocals, acoustic guitar and percusion in my home studio but didn't like it at all... if you are going to buy this mic for the same purpose, buy any other condenser mic instead... Dynamic mics, like this one, are good for live performace... at least for me, who is beggining to learn about recording...
