The industry standard SM57 is a standard for a reason. The sounds really come through and super clear compared to other dynamic mics on the market. Recommend this to anyone wanting to recored instruments in the studio or on stage.

I don't think I say much more about this mic that hasn't already been said. It is a great workhorse and given the proper mic technique, it can sound great on a lot of things. It can take a beating and still go all night long.

This is a well-made microphone that should outlast me. If you know anything about sound, you know the SM57, so I won't bother discussing the sound quality. Everyone should own one or more of these, since they work well on vocals, instruments, and spoken word.

This is an industry standard microphone for amplifiers, but it works fine for vocals too. Very well built as well. It's not one of those fancy vocal mis but it really should be the first microphone in your collection

I needed a mic for my sax. It works great and the additional stand and cable for 10 dollars more was a deal that I couldn't pass up.

What more can I say, but that this is a must for any recording engineer/musician. And for you guitarist....Put this and a Sennheiser 421 in front of ur amp...And u'll be fine ;) But this is honestly fine for any close miked recording.

The SM57 is a great workhorse mic for recording instruments - it came quickly and in safe packaging. The whole kit with an XLR cable and mic stand is a great deal and is everything you need to get recording into your interface!

Versatile, and great for everything. You don't really know how good the SM57 is until you run it thru a great pre amp. But even with a cheap pre, the shear utility of this mic is amazing. Acoustic guitar, amps, drums, voice, horns, whatever.

This is the instrument-mic standard that others are judged by. There are far more expensive mics - mics that A-list performers could use (and could afford), and that some studio engineers might prefer. But ordinary working and gigging musicians are perfectly well-served by this $ gem.

Anyone looking to work in audio should own at least four 57s. I think away. Great snare mic top n bottom. In the forty years of playing drums and 30 of them really playing drums. I only lost one mic to damage. So yes I would own FOUR SM57s MICS.

In one of the bands I play in I decided that I wanted to get the whole band out front in the pa when doing smaller bar gigs so got this mic for the guitar amp. Very happy with the sound. Plan on getting a second one. Have used Sure mics before and am happy with the sound quality

I use this mike all the time when i record my music, and it hasn't let me down yet. Outside of the occasional harsh high note (which can be fixed with a little EQ), it has a great sound, is easy to use, and is one of the best recording equipment purchases i have bought!

I bought it to record some vocals, acoustic guitar and percusion in my home studio but didn't like it at all... if you are going to buy this mic for the same purpose, buy any other condenser mic instead... Dynamic mics, like this one, are good for live performace... at least for me, who is beggining to learn about recording...

The Shure SM57 needs no review, it's proven it's quality over and over. This is a great package deal when you figure the cable and stand are free. No they're not the greatest but they get the job done well for home use. No complaints, would buy again!

Shure SM57s are hands down the best bang for the buck. Works for any application, great non-directional vocal mic for less feedback, my choice over a SM58 or 58 Beta. Best kick mic under $400. Be real carful removing the screen, I tore the crystal off the mic this one is replacing.

Just have a thing for the 57, from long ago, bought it mostly for nostalgia sake! Sounds as good as my 58, to me.

The legendary 57 has stood the test of time, and is used on almost ALL recordings no matter what studio or live situation. I always use it for Snare andd Guitars, but have used it all around the studio. It is a great mic and lasts Forever! I have many of these and always reccomend it!

What can you say about these that haven't already been said, great mic, loud. Clear, bought 2, using them to mic guitars, if you want great sound at a reasonable price, look no further. My band plays classic to heavy rock.
