I place the SHure between my Congas for the most realistic sound possible , I place one of my Monitors behind our Bass player so he hears the driving sound which is produced by my Mic.

What a deal,,,, a microphone that sounds great for under $100 what more could a person ask for??? Drums, vocals, guitar cabs this one Mic will do it all.... you can drop it, kick it and "throw it at annoying band members" and it will still work just like new,,, What are you waiting for buy one NOW!!!!!

What can you say? I've seen some debate over whether it's still a relevant mic with today's choices. But I've had two sound men (one with nearly 40 years of experience, one with about 16 years) specify the SM57 when building our drumkit mic set. And when needed, it obviously works well in front of a speaker cab.

Like most reviews of this bundle, the stand and cord seem fairly cheap. They'll work fine for me at home, but I couldn't see the stand lasting long gigging. Can't complain since the cost is only like $10 more than the mic alone!

The stand is very poorly designed and doesn't hold the mic in place at all. On top of that, the xlr cable is pretty cheap. You're better off just getting the sm57 by itself and buying other cables and stands separately. The microphone is decent so far, I haven't got to use it much yet since I don't have a functioning mic stand

This is a great microphone - the industry standard for recording guitar amps, bass amps, drums and even vocals. This microphone has stood the test of time for decades. You can't go wrong with the Shure brand. Great for snares and toms. These are virtually indestructible too and are built like a tank!

Just have a thing for the 57, from long ago, bought it mostly for nostalgia sake! Sounds as good as my 58, to me.

The SM57 is a great workhorse mic for recording instruments - it came quickly and in safe packaging. The whole kit with an XLR cable and mic stand is a great deal and is everything you need to get recording into your interface!

An excellent mic, versatile and durable, suitable for many live sound and studio applications: speech reinforcement, amp and drum kit micing, vocals...

I guess what all the reviews say is true after all, the SM57 is a great mic. Sound's clear and responsive, this thing is built like a tank. Very good and durable mic overall.

Shure SM57s are hands down the best bang for the buck. Works for any application, great non-directional vocal mic for less feedback, my choice over a SM58 or 58 Beta. Best kick mic under $400. Be real carful removing the screen, I tore the crystal off the mic this one is replacing.

The legendary 57 has stood the test of time, and is used on almost ALL recordings no matter what studio or live situation. I always use it for Snare andd Guitars, but have used it all around the studio. It is a great mic and lasts Forever! I have many of these and always reccomend it!

The mic is great of course. An industry standard and first choice for most professionals to mic a guitar amp. I'm no pro but I concur - works fine for me! Handled vocals too. The rest of the kit (mic stand and XLR cable) is surprisingly good quality too - overall a great buy!

What more can I say, but that this is a must for any recording engineer/musician. And for you guitarist....Put this and a Sennheiser 421 in front of ur amp...And u'll be fine ;) But this is honestly fine for any close miked recording.

Bought this for my daughter along with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo to record her saxophone playing. Perfect mic for sax, sound is open and sounded great with this combo. Exceeded my expectations for a $99 mic.

What's not to say about the SM57..? It's a workhorse of a microphone. Classic design and durability with impeccable sound quality from drums to bass to guitar and everything in between. Found at the Presidential Podium, this is the mic for me!

We use this product for our Audio Production students. They use it for recording obviously, and several other things as well. We have had no problems, or returns for damaged or broken parts. They are delivered promptly. Overall, a great purchase.

This is the best mic out there for a guitar amp! I have a 2x12 Vox and I used several different mic's the SM57 is clear and in the PA sounded just like my amp! Don't mess around with any other mic's get this one!

I bought it to record some vocals, acoustic guitar and percusion in my home studio but didn't like it at all... if you are going to buy this mic for the same purpose, buy any other condenser mic instead... Dynamic mics, like this one, are good for live performace... at least for me, who is beggining to learn about recording...
