This mic is extremely versatile. It can be used live or in the studio. I have used it on vocals, guitar cabs, drums, horns, and acoustic guitar. I really like the sound I get when placing one above the snare and one below, then recording them out of phase in a stereo track. You'll definitely need a few of these in your rig!

This is an exceptional microphone for the kit. In terms of bang for the buck it may be a best value. Good for vocals and instruments. It has been around for awhile. Works well for vocals and recording instruments. Considering the price, every audio kit should have one.

Watch Tom Petty live footage if you want to see proof that this is a solid vocal mic. I use it as both a vocal mic and alongside a talk box and it is terrific for both. Feeds back far less than my other vocalists' mics as well. Can't miss. Also a good drum mic although I much prefer the Morton Microphone Systems Kicktone for this application.

What can you say? I've seen some debate over whether it's still a relevant mic with today's choices. But I've had two sound men (one with nearly 40 years of experience, one with about 16 years) specify the SM57 when building our drumkit mic set. And when needed, it obviously works well in front of a speaker cab.

No words for this mic. In my opinion, the best microphone to record guitars. It records voice, snare and another stuff very well too.

The Shure SM57 is a tried and true instrument mic. If you ever go somewhere to play a gig and they have you using their equipment, I guarantee there will be an SM57 hanging down over the amp. That's because everyone knows this mic is the best bang for your buck. The VALUE on this is insane. Yeah, you can find several better mics but not anywhere in this price range.

This set works fine, but I don't expect the stand and/or cable to last very long. If you need an SM57, it's worth the extra $10, even if you just keep it for a spare.

Everyone one who records music has a SM57. Its great for drums, it's amazing for guitar (electric or acoustic), It handles the bass, and it works as vocal mic for those looking for alternate tone. This mic does probably 99% of every trick you could think of. If you are collecting microphones, start here.

Absolutely great bundle deal. I was actually shocked that this was real and that I actually got my items and they are the real deal items. The microphone itself is great as expected. The fact that you get the microphone, mic stand, xlr, DI Box (the di box is great btw) and a windscreen, is beyond amazing! I totally recommend getting this package.

Like most reviews of this bundle, the stand and cord seem fairly cheap. They'll work fine for me at home, but I couldn't see the stand lasting long gigging. Can't complain since the cost is only like $10 more than the mic alone!

Its reputation of a "must have" mic for stage and studio use for a reason. I was put off by the tiny price tag but "you get what you pay for" does not apply here. Used for home studio instrument recording.

The stand is very poorly designed and doesn't hold the mic in place at all. On top of that, the xlr cable is pretty cheap. You're better off just getting the sm57 by itself and buying other cables and stands separately. The microphone is decent so far, I haven't got to use it much yet since I don't have a functioning mic stand

This is a great microphone - the industry standard for recording guitar amps, bass amps, drums and even vocals. This microphone has stood the test of time for decades. You can't go wrong with the Shure brand. Great for snares and toms. These are virtually indestructible too and are built like a tank!

The Shure SM57 Mic is a classic. I bought my first mic used from a friend. This mic is still in use several years later. These are some of the most versatile mics on the market. They can be used for everything from vocals to recording. If you want a legendary mic from a legendary name the SM57 is for you.

I place the SHure between my Congas for the most realistic sound possible , I place one of my Monitors behind our Bass player so he hears the driving sound which is produced by my Mic.

This is a microphone that works very well when recording to my Tascam 8 track recorder. The recorded audio is well balanced-not tinny or overly bassy. The bass is not muddy nor are the high frequencies lacking. It is built very solid and produces clean audio. I like the way that it can be placed very close to a guitar to pick up the full range of sound. If you purchase one you will not be upset.

It doesn't disappoint. Super versatile. I'm using it for acoustic guitar at this point, but will probably point it at an amp or two before we're finished, both in live and studio applications.

I've used these outstanding mics for both live and studio use. Clarity is fantastic, great for miking instuments. I havent' used them much for vocals... I've always used the 58's for that. Very durable, I've had mine for 15 - 20 years and they all still work perfectly. If you are looking for a great mic to use with instruments, these are the pups!
