This microphone is very easy to use with iOS devices, just plug in and use. The sound quality is significantly above the iPhone built in microphone - verified so far with my iPhone 11, iPhone XS and iPad Air devices. There are a range of microphone settings available to choose from, suitable for different applications, all easily customized with Apps provided by the manufacturer. I used it so far mainly for live music recordings, and it performed flawlessly. The build is solid and so far it survived several average (~1-1.5m) height drops.

Ordered this during quarantine times to improve my audio and video recording process. The accompanying shure app is super easy to use and the mic itself improves the audio quality of your iOS device. It pushes it up to wav quality and also enables you to save directly to a cloud service which is a nice add on. Definitely worth it and B&H had it out in the mail ASAP within the restrictions which was great and just in time for some projects. Comes in a smart little case and includes a few wires and a fuzzy pop cover.

A seamless stereo mic upgrade for iPhone .. step up your audio to make your movies sound like they look . Shure is a company with a vast history making pro microphones of high quality for many recording and performance applications so they were a brand I felt the best choice . I was not disappointed. Sound quality is balanced and true , use with downloadable apps that instantly link your upgraded microphone to your iPhone with ease . Very reasonable price point as well .

So far, using it on my iPhone and Filmic Pro, has been a pleasurable success. I don't see any other product that can do as much so well. I'm looking forward to recording for videos as well as live audio only even after Apple has eliminated the 3.5 plug!

The Shure MOTIV MV88 made a tremendous difference in the quality of the audio of our church service videos. For very little cost and easy-peasy set-up, it turned out to be perfect for us (the inexperienced at live-streaming).

I have a new iPhone SE (2020) and I would say the overall sound quality of the MV88 is not much of an improvement over the recordings I got just using my built-in microphone. Good on Apple. I would say the primary benefit to the MV88 is the directionality / multi-pattern options, which are helpful if you want to gain more control over how you capture audio in stereo.

I use this product to record audio for my youtube videos and do it all from my iPhone! if you use a non apple case you will need to get a lightning port extension like I had or go for the higher priced Motiv MV88+ if you plan to use it with a gimbal. Overall it was a great purchase and have no buyers remorse. If you have a gimbal than i would definitely go for the MV88+ Videographer kit instead.

The sound from this microphone does seem to be an improvement on the default iPhone microphones. It installed easily. My only gripe is the design of the lighting insert - it is too short to insert if you have a case protector on the phone. Taking the case on and off when you wish to use it can get tedious.

How this mic could receive anything but a 5+ star review is beyond me. I could only assume operator error or unrealistic expectations. It Is unimaginably good. Literally mind blowing to see how good such a small piece of equipment can be. My one piece of advice is to get a phone/iPad that has lightning connector as well as a headphone Jack if you want to monitor

It makes iPhone record audio in such high-fidelity you couldn't ever imagine. By using the app, you can get audio profiles that make a real difference. It also has EQ and compression and all those little necessities. The only annoying thing is that you have to remove the iPhone case to mount it, but that's reasonable as one could guess.

Great mic for audio with Iphone however you have to use it with the case off which is difficult in our work environment always on the go we want to keep our cases on for best phone protection and have yet to find a good lighting port extender for this application.

Excellent for playing and singing with acoustic guitar, especially with many folks doing live-streams these days. Easy to set up and really good sound for both voice and instrument. A great tool for someone who wants to make a simple decent performance video on their phone.

Had one for a year or two and it was stolen. Researched and couldn't find anything else like it in the price range so I bought another and couldn't be happier. I use it to record practice sessions, zoom, video etc. Does well with singing voice.

Used this attached to my iphone for YouTube and Instagram recording and it eliminated all of the hollow echo issues with my recordings. B&H promised it to me in 2 days on the West Coast and they delivered! Great expereince with B&H and Shure!

I need to remove my iPhone case to use this microphone. Nowhere in the descriptions does this say this. I had to spend extra money to buy a lightning plug from Apple in order to use this. Very unhappy.

Very happy with it. Took an hour to figure out that there is an app needed to adjust it to use to record an interview. Not sure how I missed that.

After many reviews I decided to buy this one; a great purchase. For just a few bucks more this is the best of the best. Great construction and sound. Love it. The same one with the Thunderbolt and a 3.5mm input should be a big deal for DSLR

Great little mic. Works well With FilmicPro. Lots of settings in the app, be sure to apply some gain. Might need a lightning extender if you use a case on your phone.

I've been using this for my band rehearsals, and it sounds sooooo much better than the old tascam I was using before. I had some issues with the app, recordings dropping off, but after following instructions from Shure and reseting my iPhone to factory settings, its been working great!
