These are the standard. For regular use and for gigging, you can't do better than one of these. Sure makes the best and the most rugged ball-mics around and this one has a little more clarity than their standard one. I use both in my studio for vocals. This one is more clear and will cut through better in a band. Even the low price Sure is terrific but if you want your vocals heard and lyrics to be understood, this one is better.

Nice stand and the microphone is great for vocals

Really Can't go wrong with this mic. Its still a crazy durable dynamic mic like the sm58 but allows for much higher gain to feedback on axis. The polar pattern could give you issues if your talent is used to cardioid mics and not willing to listen. This is a great choice for anyone looking to buy a super-card in any price range.

Replaced much more expensive AKG D3800 mikes with an improvement in subtle dynamics and tonality, and they seem to be more responsive to small vocal inflections for our small contemporary Christian music group.

Great mic for vocals.

The Beta 58A is well worth the higher price of it's excellent sibling, the SM58. I love the accurate reproduction, the very sensitive proximity effect, and the ability to handle very high sound pressure levels with little or no distortion. I definitely plan on adding more of these to my live mic collection in the near future as well as some Beta 57's!

Using for one on one interviews. These mics feel rugged & look good. (You get a little blue accent if you buy BETAS...) Bought these versions as they cost just a little more than other 58s, promise a touch more vocal warmth & will last a long time. Recordings are nice & clean & that's all that matters in the end!

Purchased a previous mike from GC and just did not give me the response I needed. Took it back to GC and they credited my purchase to an upgraded mike (even though it was a few days past the return date). Very pleased with the mike and provides great sound response without having to get right on the mike.

I just bought the BETA 58A and also one SM58 because they only had 1 SM58 in stock and I was skeptical over the $50 more retail price. I've used SM58's previously but not 5+ years and the BETA 58A was noticeably louder and brighter sounding on my Mackie 808S PA with JBL EON powered speakers. I'd return the SM58 and upgrade to another BETA 58A but I'm beyond the 14 day return policy.

I absolutely love the Beta 58! I have used it for live performance and even for home recording. I find it picks up the low-end really well for a dynamic mic and stays accurate even when you're close up on it. Another great product from Shure and a bit of an upgrade from the SM58, in my opinion. Highly recommend!

as you gear up in the studio you start noticing the skill levels and nuances in your performances, this is because the better equipment is showing your ears more in the mix. The shure beta 58 shows me more, at an affordable price. this is the studio mic ive been personally searching for for years, wish i had just broken down and gotten the good stuff in the first place

The 58A has the great natural quality of the original (I still use one that's 40 years old) but enhanced---it brings out the fullest, most natural vocal quality of any microphone---it's no wonder you'll see that little blue stripe on almost every singer's microphone in the professional ranks. It's the bees knees.

Shure 58A Beta doesn't need any recommendations. It's probably the best vocal microphone for live performance. BHP delivered this product fast and with no issues during these crazy before Christmas days.

Great mic for the price, arrived quick. Really wish it had an on/off switch, but I should have paid attention before buying. Looks and sounds great. Using it for band practice and plan to use it for gigs. Definitely an improvement over the cheap peavey mic I was using.

Perfect for live vocal applications. My top choice for vocalists. Also incredibly durable.
