Ultimately, that's what you want to hear, right? Great sound. I recently bought my second pair after owning the first for around 3 or 4 years. My only complaint was that the foam in one ear cushion managed to break free of the covering. I never got around to replacing that ear cushion before someone broke into my apartment and stole them. If thieves will pass up more expensive stuff for those, you know they've gotta be good!

Over all these are really good, have flat frequency response and the base is much more noticeable compared to other headphones I've used, probably due to the great insulation. Most liked feature is the coiled cable its more compact, soft yet durable then any other I have used.

Decent build quality on these headphones, but mostly plastic. Graded down one star for non-detachable cable. These are nice for monitoring during recording during my VO work. They're pretty forward in the mids to mid-highs which can be a good thing, especially for noisy location recording. In the booth they are fine too., just not as rich as the Senn 650's I sometimes use. All in all, very good headphones, and they sounded pretty good right out of the box.

I just purchased my second set of these cans after the first failed after 6 brutal years of being knocked around and stepped on. The HD 280s provide good isolation from room noise in live sound environments and I find them to be fairly neutral. While they don't provide absolutely blow me away spectacular critical listening performance, these Sennheisers provide a reliable reference for out on the road applications.

We use the HD 280 in our multimedia studios and on remotes. Five or six projects are typically underway at any given time in our studios. The HD 280 blocks out most ambient noise and provides clear sound. The headphones are comfortable during long hours of continuous use. I have tried a number of other makes and models but keep coming back to this as the most dependable.

I use these headphones for monitoring audio levels when I'm shooting a video. I use many cameras(xf100, xf300, 5d mk ii) and these headphones work great! Have never been more pleased with a pair of monitoring headphones. I have zero complaints and will continue to use these cans for years to come!

First pair of Sennheisers and they work great--pick up sound perfectly and really put your sound work into perspective. I actually wish they blocked out external noise just a bit more, but otherwise, they're great. I use them for recording and just listening to music when my buds aren't around/when I want to be an antisocial jerk.

I love music, and I enjoy the high quality music work. I used to have an ordinary Noise Canceling headphones and a creative bluetooth on-ear one, none of them has the decent sound quality this HD 280 Pro has!. However, I was surprised with the ear padding??, i think the ear pads should be as soft as the headband padding. Also it is TIGHT!, I understand this because the EAR padding is little stiff that it needs more force to take the shape of the head.

I have had many sets of earphones of my many years, While these have an excellent sound the pads are just awful quality - Deteriorated almost 2 years to the day after I bought them. I don't mean a tiny tear but complete disintegration. Of course now Sennheiser no longer makes replacements so I am stuck with having to buy knock offs or new headphones. I have been a customer of B&H 30 years and this is the worst item I have ever bought

A little bulky compared to other headphones, but very comfortable once on. The sound is terrific; you'll instantly hear the difference between these and any included headsets that come with your Ipod, MP3, etc. The over the ear design effectively blocks out ambient noise too. I tried the Bose noise cancelling set. They work well, but the noise cancelling feature also affected some of the music I was listening to. These cost far less and are well worth it.

I bought these for monitoring/mixing in my home studio. The sound is clean, the balance is excellent; it is easy to distinguish each track and hear all the detail I need to add/adjust effects and mix down. In short, I find these excellent for the purpose and don't feel the need to spend significantly more (and you'd have to to get a meaningfully better sound). There's a reason these are an industry standard.

Before I got these I was using apple headphones to listen to music. I just ordered these I now I acutely for the first time am hearing music! the headphones add some nice bass and clarity to the songs, it's like having surround sound packed in headphones! I recommend these to anyone, especially those who like to listen to music such as I do.

I've used the Sennheiser HD-280 for three years as a Video Producer in post production. Very comfortable headphones. For Location Field Recording I prefer the HD 25-1 II model headphones: they are lighter weight, grip better, block out more noise and provide a flatter response. If you have sensitive ears and don't like a snug fit on your ears, then the HD-280 is a great alternative set of cans.

Great sound for audio monitoring while shooting a video, cover your ears well so you don't hear much the external sound of the blasting DJ music at a job, but a bit bulky. The cord is long enough for any needs.

My main focus was to find closed-back headphones that were not expensive, but great quality. I picked up these and the feel of it was great. It blocked out, I would say, 95percent of the sound which was perfect. Great for recording sessions. However, if you're looking to get one for mixing, I would recommend open-back headphones. These are still good if you travel and work on projects on the go. But you need sound to breathe. Perfect headphones!

Head phones are amazing, they sound like you have no head phones on when you listen to somebody who is speaking. they are comfortable and you dont quite notice them so it helps the immersion of actually being there listening to them. As for gaming, it sounds great as well, they catch the highs and the lows just great in music also. best headphones for the price. dopnt waste money on gaming head sets.

This is my 3rd pair in the last 8 years. They are very comfortable, and sound good ( to my non-audiophile ears ). However, after a year or so, the standard-issue ear cups wear out and start shedding fake-leather bits, and the top headband won't remain fastened, necessitating the use of zip ties to hold it in place. Hopefully, the deluxe sheepskin ear cups won't suffer from the shedding problem.

These headphones are great. I've used them for multiple hours everyday for a few weeks now. They sound excellent and I love the thick cable. What makes it even better is that the cables replaceable too! Not only is the sound amazing, but it cost a lot less than most headphones! I love how it folds. I just wish there was a hard case for me to carry it in. That's not a big deal though! All in all, the perfect headphones for most music listeners.

Great listening and good bass directly off PC with no power amp. Would have been 5 Stars if they didn't clamp my head so tightly (no squeeze adjustment).
