Great listening and good bass directly off PC with no power amp. Would have been 5 Stars if they didn't clamp my head so tightly (no squeeze adjustment).

I use these headphones for monitoring audio levels when I'm shooting a video. I use many cameras(xf100, xf300, 5d mk ii) and these headphones work great! Have never been more pleased with a pair of monitoring headphones. I have zero complaints and will continue to use these cans for years to come!

I use these in my home voice recording studio and they're very...adequate. Clear mids but virtually no low ends, despite being billed as have more robust low ends. Also, I travel a lot and need to fold them up frequently, and I can't tell you how many times I pinched my fingers in the plastic joints. Is it poorly designed or am I just a helpless clutz? Probably both, but I'd like my nice headphones to be a bit more me-proof. And as other reviewers have noted, they are TIGHT on the head, so big-headed people beware...

I've owned a few of these over the years. They're my go-to option for situations where I need to monitor audio in high ambient noise environments--monitoring live sound reinforcement sound board output while a band is playing or monitoring the audio on a pro camcorder in a loud environment. They're not audiophile quality, and I've worn some to tatters. But they're a very good value for this price point, and they're certainly not disposable.

I just purchased my second set of these cans after the first failed after 6 brutal years of being knocked around and stepped on. The HD 280s provide good isolation from room noise in live sound environments and I find them to be fairly neutral. While they don't provide absolutely blow me away spectacular critical listening performance, these Sennheisers provide a reliable reference for out on the road applications.

I bought these cans for video production. Too many times the client asked if an external noise was picked up by the mic or not and I wasn't sure. These fit over the ear and have a thick pad that shuts out a lot of the outside sounds allowing me to better make that call. Over the years, the sound quality has only improved. I have only had to replace the earpads recently due to the years of abuse in field. Although they are large, they fold a couple different ways for storage.

We use the HD 280 in our multimedia studios and on remotes. Five or six projects are typically underway at any given time in our studios. The HD 280 blocks out most ambient noise and provides clear sound. The headphones are comfortable during long hours of continuous use. I have tried a number of other makes and models but keep coming back to this as the most dependable.

I love music, and I enjoy the high quality music work. I used to have an ordinary Noise Canceling headphones and a creative bluetooth on-ear one, none of them has the decent sound quality this HD 280 Pro has!. However, I was surprised with the ear padding??, i think the ear pads should be as soft as the headband padding. Also it is TIGHT!, I understand this because the EAR padding is little stiff that it needs more force to take the shape of the head.

Nothing seems hyped with these headphones...very solid, less bright than the Sony MDR-7506...and seemingly more like what I hear in the room with reasonable speakers. Also, noise isolation is much better. There is a fair amount of handling noise passed to the ears from the cable though...but that is avoidable. Very glad I am mixing livestreams with these now.

I've been looking for the right kind of head phones for a long time. I want clear sound, without too much bias. Well, that's what you'll get with the HD 280 Pro. So much in fact that they sound a bit tame. The bass is there but not to the extent you're probably used to in other head phones. Vocals can also sound different from what you're used to. But all in all, these are a really good pair of cans.

You will not hear anyone sneaking up on you so use them in a safe place! I believe these headphones are the best you can buy at this price point. Nice range of frequency response. Crisp vocals and deep bass. Well designed and comfortable. Maybe the last pair you'll ever need.

At first I didnt like them, but that is only because of the stock Ear Pads they came with which would make my head feel compressed and start to hurt a little. If you put the Leather Ear Pads on them then they are awesome! I can now wear them all day! Helps with isolation a lot as well!

When I need to escape from my 4-year-old and his noise, I slip these babies on, turn on some tunes and the noise is gone. You don't even need to turn the volume up very high to enjoy. So much more comfortable than ear buds that, after a short time, really start to hurt. I looked at Bose and discovered these for so much less money. I am extremely happy with my choice. They also fold for easy transport.

I was looking for a good quality set of headphones without noise cancelling and all the other bells and whistles. I saw these and they seemed to be just what I was looking for. Good bass response and crystal clear sound. Very comfortable even when wearing them for long periods of time! I would definitely recommend them!

Great sounding headphones, with smooth low-end. Perfect for audio monitoring whether on set or in the studio. They work well for basic editing, too. My only complaints are the coiled cable (I much prefer straight ones that don't get all tangled up), and they aren't super comfortable when wearing for long periods of time, which is unfortunate because that somewhat defeats the purpose. At $100 they are nonetheless a solid value.

The difference between these headphones and the previous lower grade studio headphones I was using is night and day. Sound quality is clear, blocks enough ambient noise without the sometimes unsettling noise cancellation functionality of other models. If I were to recommend one thing it'd be to listen to Paint it Black on these headphones - truly incredible

I am enjoying the Sennheiser Headphones I recently purchased from you. After going through several noise reduction headphones, overpriced ear buds, and horrible sounding on the ear headphones, these Sennheisers are a wonderful change. They totally block surrounding noise while providing very high quality sound. While they are large the fact that the earpieces swivel in allow you to pack them in a smaller space than I expected. ...

Over all these are really good, have flat frequency response and the base is much more noticeable compared to other headphones I've used, probably due to the great insulation. Most liked feature is the coiled cable its more compact, soft yet durable then any other I have used.

I use headphones to listen to TV or music while I work on my computer, and the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro have great sound reproduction, along with passive noise cancelling to block out external sounds like noisy neighbors. I've worn out a couple of these headphones because I wear them a lot, and the sound quality is very satisfying.

These seem to be a very nice pair of headphones for a reasonable price. I found them to be comfortable and not overly heavy, and the sound seems clear and well balanced. It is also very nice that they come with a 1/4 inch jack adaptor. They are not the most attractive pair of headphones I have seen, but if you want a decent pair of headphones and don't want to pay hundreds of dollars, these should work just fine.
