I use these headphones with my Roland TD-15 kit. I just reordered a pair because the exact same model I had previously went out after 9 years of consistent use!! That is amazing quality!

General listening headphone. I don't use these for critical mixing but general purpose good sounding headphones for music recording monitor mix for musicians.

The most helpful low review (per B&H) for these monitor headphones said they have an odd design that makes them uncomfortable to wear. I decided to buy because the positive reviews were strong. Well, it only took 15 minutes with them on to decide they would not work for me due the way they pinch the ears and force the headband down uncomfortably across the top of my head. No way I could wear these for hours during edits. Returning and my search is on again for a moderate priced monitor headphone for editing.

These are very nice head phones they sound great. The cord is industrial heavy wont wear out real soon. It seems to me that they are made for studio use. When you move around the cord is so heavy its movement causes sound to be sent to the earphone where the cord enters into the bottom. I did read a review that stated this and I didnt think much about it but it is there. Maybe a clip to attach to your shirt to keep the movement from being a problem. Still these are very nice headphones. Hence the Pro.

Can't go wrong with this set of cans. I personally prefer these to the Sony MDR-7506 studio headphones. The Sennheisers are much more sturdy and cancel out the sound very well. I would say these are heavy on the midtones but hold a decent bass. Not nearly as good of a soundstage as the Sennheiser HD598's which are dropping in price ($) but those are more for private music sessions as the HD280's I would recommend for video editing.

I bought these because I got fed up with my "smart" wireless headphones randomly turning off or disconnecting. These sound great and they never randomly turn off! They do tend to squeeze your head and warm your ears, but its not enough to be a unbearable. I would of preferred a normal cable, but it is fun to play with so its not too bad. It was interesting that the manual explicitly said these headphones are for monitoring uses only. (Because they can be too loud.) But I have mine plugged into a Focusrite Scarlett Solo (which has a big monitoring dial) so I figure I'm good to go. ... More

This headset fit my needs perfectly - wonderful music reproduction, great isolation from my coworkers, and a great way to monitor the audio output levels from my HV20, all at a price that didn't break the bank. Its pretty comfortable even after having it on over long stretches (2-4 hours), and it folds really compactly for storage in my camcorder bag. The cable is a bit on the long side when I'm mobile, but the extra reach is just great when I'm not. Its been a long while since I've enjoyed music as much as I've done with these headphones.

I've looking for a headphone who helps me to listen for details when I mixing live bands. When you are mixing on a stage wich SPL of the band is about 110 dB you need something that isolate the stage sound from your ears. And the isolation of this headphone is fantastic. Altough, the frequency response is also amazing too, with no coloration.

I'm very sensitive to background noise, especially talking, and these headphones are amazingly good at reducing noise! I can work now even in the middle of a busy airport even without plugging them to anything! The sound quality is very good, with no emphasis on extremes like many other options in the price range. Great for acoustic music and singing. I really enjoy them. The build is fine. It feels robust, although the set is rather large, even when folded.

I use my headphones mostly at night when listening to music so I don't bother my roommate. The sound from them is very good for the price. I don't have any experience using very expensive headphones (over $250) so I can't compare these to the top-of-the-line pairs. I can tell you that these are very noticeably better than a cheap pair. Good value buy.

Before I got these I was using apple headphones to listen to music. I just ordered these I now I acutely for the first time am hearing music! the headphones add some nice bass and clarity to the songs, it's like having surround sound packed in headphones! I recommend these to anyone, especially those who like to listen to music such as I do.

I use the HD 280 pro on movie and television sets. I am a production sound mixer, I have used everything on the market. For the price these are one of the best. The closed back is one of the best going. The one draw back is in the collapsible design, it can break if not treated right.

These headphones are great. I've used them for multiple hours everyday for a few weeks now. They sound excellent and I love the thick cable. What makes it even better is that the cables replaceable too! Not only is the sound amazing, but it cost a lot less than most headphones! I love how it folds. I just wish there was a hard case for me to carry it in. That's not a big deal though! All in all, the perfect headphones for most music listeners.

We have many pairs of these around the studio. The design really blocks out ambient sound. They are very comfortable even for people with large heads. The cords are well made and unlike some other units we have purchased, we haven't had any failures or intermittent connection issues.

A little bulky compared to other headphones, but very comfortable once on. The sound is terrific; you'll instantly hear the difference between these and any included headsets that come with your Ipod, MP3, etc. The over the ear design effectively blocks out ambient noise too. I tried the Bose noise cancelling set. They work well, but the noise cancelling feature also affected some of the music I was listening to. These cost far less and are well worth it.

Overall, we are pleased with these headphones. They are well made, and have a very clear and uncolored sound, which is want you need for studio headphones. The noise cancelling is very good also. They only drawback is the coiled cord that gets tangled up easily A straight cord (even if it was shorter) would be preferable. Also, they are a little bit heavier than we thought they would be and get somewhat uncomfortable after a long period of use.

Decent build quality on these headphones, but mostly plastic. Graded down one star for non-detachable cable. These are nice for monitoring during recording during my VO work. They're pretty forward in the mids to mid-highs which can be a good thing, especially for noisy location recording. In the booth they are fine too., just not as rich as the Senn 650's I sometimes use. All in all, very good headphones, and they sounded pretty good right out of the box.

Use the headphones at my computer to listen to Pandora, Spotify, my iTunes library, YouTube, etc. With a little volume behind them, sounds are pretty clear, good stereo separation. Over-ear cups provide fairly good outside sound prevention. Comes with two jacks for mp3/computer and for stereo receiver. Coiled cord is handy. Headphones somewhat warm, but so far comfortable for a couple of hours at a time. Gave them 5 stars because they are a very good headphone for the money.
