As of now I can only give it a 4 out of 5 star rating simply because I haven't had it long enough to really utilize it to its fullest potential. I will say that, the little bit that I have used it, it sounds really really good. Im using it on top of one of my Panasonic GH3's and the sound quality is worlds better than the built in mic on the GH3. Definitely worth the money.

I purchased this one to have a good sound with my camera. This is quite good for the price. I used it on my vacation in armenia and georgia. Quite good in handling extreme wind noise. I only wish that the rode wireless go was released prior to me purchasing this one as the wireless go is even more compact and has wider range. Nevertheless this is a perfect microphone for run and gun vlogging.

Definitely works as advertised. Great improvement over using the built in mic on a DSLR. Inclusion of the furry wind sock is a great deal.

This microphone does a great job for our wilderness filming and recording. The sound is much more enhanced and we can target the area we want to record easily. Thank you!

Perfect small onboard shotgun for an HDSLR or other compact video camera. Well designed and accessorized for the price. However, the first one I bought had a loose socket for the mic cable. It was not secure and would spin itself on its threads in the mic body. I ordered another and will return the defective unit. We'll see how #2 does later today.

I own four of these and I use them on every piece of run & run gear I have. GH4, GH5, Osmo, and all my location audio equipment. Sound is half the picture What a difference good sound makes to your story telling. The product build and quality is great. No battery is required. Comes with shock mount and wind screen.

As an industry professional I have used many different mics in many different applications. This mic is now my go to for on the go voice over or for something small that can be hidden out of the shot. Audio quality is the same if not better then any of the larger more expensive mics. Will not disappoint and always dependable no matter the application!

Works great with my Sony a6400. I love that I just have to plug it in and not worry about any batteries on the mic. Quality of the audio with this rode mic is definitely step up in production value better vs. the onboard camera mic. Must have for anyone doing video.

I'm new to shooting video with my camera as I am a photographer. But I have been trying my hand at shooting video with my X-Pro2 and this is a great step up in quality from the built in microphone. Only issue (which is not at all a fault of the Rode VideoMicro) is that I needed a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to plug into my X-Pro2. Otherwise the audio is crisp and clear!

I have a zoom shotgun mike which seems to be of enormous length for my Z camera. So I bought this one for shorter and close range audio pick up instead of the camera built-in. Convenient and versatile in small format.

Everything I had hoped for. I was afraid it was going to be too small for my DSLR, but it fits great and the audio is exactly what I hoped for.

I've recorded a couple videos now for vlog purposes and it filters out a lot of the background noise! Great price, and works like a charm, as I live above a busy street with lots of cars driving around in the background, but it filters much of it out!

One of the best quality mics for the price range, I even used it to record voices in off with a great sound. It completely worth the money. The mic construction is in metal so it feels a durable invest, the shock mount base is made in plastic but does its function very well. I would add a shoe mount adapter to attach it to different rigs. For me one of the best Rode products... well done.

I?m no sound expert and I still edit with free software but even I could tell this wasn?t lightyears ahead of the onboard mic. Bought for my Canon 80D and it?s perfect. No more motor sounds when it focuses or zooms. No more scratching and banging the camera and worrying the mic is picking it up. Plus the wind fuzzy does its job well!

When I first opened the box to the Rode VideMicro I was blown away by the physical size, I had a rode Video Mic before and sometimes when using a wide angle lens you could see the wind screen in the shots. Bottom line: its amazing for the price! You get a wind screen for it and you can mount it just about anywhere! Try one out today!

Great price! super small! Really catches the vocals and eliminates unnecessary reverb or room haas effect characteristics and just let the vocals (or whatever you are recording) be the only thing you hear.

Much better then DJI Osmo built in mic. compact size. VideoMicro still pick up little noise from DJI motor fan. to compare:(VideoMicro :up to 5-10 %, built in mic 70-80 % noise ) my opinion is, videoMicro is very usable, but if you looking something pro quality audio, better to buy wireless lavalier system, like: Redelink or audiotechnika 10.

*This is an outstanding microphone, if you're looking for a great microphone that's small and battery-free, this is the one. It sounds fantastic and has awesome side and rear rejection. One of the best features is that is comes with the deadcat which usually costs extra so to have it included at this price makes it a bargain.
