Fantastic Little Pro Mic. Powered by the camera. Uses a little more of the camera battery but not a problem, just have an extra battery, in case you need it. Has nice, clear, clean audio. Bill Mahon Photo

Never got to use it... The input jack is bad. Plug does not "click" in and doesn't stay in the input jack... falls out. Really disappointing. Will be contacting B & H about exchanging it but not sure if I want another one... I just hope I don't have to go through the hassle of sending it back to the manufacturer... :( Mike Lago Vista, TX

I bought the Rode Videomicro to use as an external microphone for my GoPro Hero 4+ Silver. It is an excellent mic at picking up sounds and voices directly in front of it; which is expected being a shotgun style. I highly recommend this microphone.

It does the job. My Canon EOS60D shoots video but the built-in mic is poor because it picks up every sound from every direction and it is mono. My RODE VideoMicro Compact is a shotgun mic and stereo. It was a low price, but don't use it that often.

I got this hoping it would improve the sound quality for my phone and camcorder. It does not. I can't tell a difference between when I use it and when I don't. I normally love Rode mics but this one is a real miss. Save your money and buy a different mic.

It's a good mic that has a low enough profile to sit on a gopro (assuming you have a cage to mount it to) without getting in the frame. The sound quality is better than my video mic go that I also have so I have been using this more and more. It's not as nice as some other mic's out there but for the price it can't be beat

I own four of these and I use them on every piece of run & run gear I have. GH4, GH5, Osmo, and all my location audio equipment. Sound is half the picture What a difference good sound makes to your story telling. The product build and quality is great. No battery is required. Comes with shock mount and wind screen.

Perfect small onboard shotgun for an HDSLR or other compact video camera. Well designed and accessorized for the price. However, the first one I bought had a loose socket for the mic cable. It was not secure and would spin itself on its threads in the mic body. I ordered another and will return the defective unit. We'll see how #2 does later today.

When I first opened the box to the Rode VideMicro I was blown away by the physical size, I had a rode Video Mic before and sometimes when using a wide angle lens you could see the wind screen in the shots. Bottom line: its amazing for the price! You get a wind screen for it and you can mount it just about anywhere! Try one out today!

Great price! super small! Really catches the vocals and eliminates unnecessary reverb or room haas effect characteristics and just let the vocals (or whatever you are recording) be the only thing you hear.

I love this little microphone. I used it to video a wedding with my iPhone 6s and it was totally awesome. Very good sound quality from Rode.

Much better then DJI Osmo built in mic. compact size. VideoMicro still pick up little noise from DJI motor fan. to compare:(VideoMicro :up to 5-10 %, built in mic 70-80 % noise ) my opinion is, videoMicro is very usable, but if you looking something pro quality audio, better to buy wireless lavalier system, like: Redelink or audiotechnika 10.

I'm new to shooting video with my camera as I am a photographer. But I have been trying my hand at shooting video with my X-Pro2 and this is a great step up in quality from the built in microphone. Only issue (which is not at all a fault of the Rode VideoMicro) is that I needed a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to plug into my X-Pro2. Otherwise the audio is crisp and clear!

*This is an outstanding microphone, if you're looking for a great microphone that's small and battery-free, this is the one. It sounds fantastic and has awesome side and rear rejection. One of the best features is that is comes with the deadcat which usually costs extra so to have it included at this price makes it a bargain.

Very happy with this purchase. The Rode VideoMicro has excellent build quality, and a very clean/crisp sound capture. I use it mainly on an iPhone 7 Plus rig, and it is perfect for indoor use. Have yet to use it outdoors. It's versatile in the way that I can use it on my desktop as a voiceover Mic or on my custom iPhone rig. It delivers excellent quality at a very reasonable price point.

Needed a small external shock mounted mic to use with my sony a6300. Great build quality. Added of the wind deadcat is a great bonus!! All metal mic chassis! Great job Rode!

This little mic blew me away. I originally purchased this for the Osmo but I now use it as a backup source sometimes on my DSLR. The sound quality is amazing and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

I love this little microphone. It does a great job of picking up sound in front of it and minimizing sounds beside and behind. I plug it into my iPhone (using an additional adaptor) and the audio in my video recordings or livestreams is much better.

I throw this mic on my Fujifilm XT-4 and it works really nicely. It get's great audio if I'm shooting in a crowded place where I don't have room for external mics. But, it's not the best at recording quiet audio. You can crank up the volume in post without background hissing noise being bad. Overall, it's a great mic to throw on your camera and get good general use audio.

Not only is the sound quality mediocre at best, but another big problem with this mic set up is that the shock mount is so flimsy that it ridiculously bounces around on top of a camera which causes even more problems, from the wind screen bouncing against the camera, to it interfering with the operation of a stabilizer, etc...
