This is my first external microphone for any of my camera gear and WOW. I was a little nervous with the price being so low, but knowing how reliable Rode is with their products and customers I went with my gut and made the purchase. ?Extremely lightweight! (Can't even notice the weight) ?NO batteries! Always running which is great for forgettable people aka me. ?Great quality of sound! So much more rich than the onboard camera mics! THANK YOU RODE!

The Rode VideoMicro may be small but you can really hear the difference...much more depth to recorded audio. A well priced solution to the shortcomings of the built in mic on my Nikon D5300.

My first use of this mic was outside on a very breezy day. The camera and mic were about 8 feet from the speaker. Without the windshield the breezes were very audible. With the windshield attached the breezes were not heard yet the speaker audio was loud and clear. I was impressed with the performance from this low cost, small shotgun microphone.

I use it on an iOgrapher for my iPad2 and on my Lenovo laptop. It works perfect in both cases. My iPad videos are edited with Corel Vidio Studio X9 and the audio tracks are no longer a problem. The only drawback is that it lessens the portability of using an iPad for mobile filming.

I set this up on a boom stand for YouTube videos after seeing a recommendation for it, and I have to say for 60 bucks, this thing performs exceptionally well. My room is really bad with reverb and putting this mic close to my mouth really cuts down on that- you still need to spend a good amount of time to come up with presets for your specific voice (or whoever's voice you're recording) but the end results far surpassed my expectations.

I got this mic as a budget option for my audio on my DSLR. The quality is fantastic. There is a slight hiss sometimes but for the most part this mic has over performed in every area. It is also one of the easiest to use mics out there because of it using power from the camera itself.

This mic is good, not great. Much better than in camera mic. There is a hissing sound at times though and the range is not very good. I use just for family and fun stuff no paid productions.

The product is as compact as the description says. Performs just as well as my Rode VideoMic GO. My only criticism would be the loose fitting windscreen that is provided with the product. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this microphone to anyone looking for something small and versatile.

I love my new rode microphone! Very light but very good quality. I bought the longer cable for this and I am so glad I did. Such a big difference when you have the microphone sitting on top of the camera compared to having it so close to you. The voice is clean & pure and with the furry windshield that comes with it, the wind noise is eliminated.

I bought this to replace an old lav mic I was using with my T5i and I couldn't be more pleased! It records clear audio and doesn't pick up a lot of ambient noise. I love the super small size and that I don't have to fuss with batteries or cords. The VideoMicro is a great and inexpensive way to upgrade the sound quality of your videos!

This little guy has awesome off angle rejection. When filming it only picks up whatever is in front of it. Clean sound. I find I like the way it sounds better than even rode's smartphone lav mic. Totally worth it if you're trying to get better sound than your onboard camera/phone. It's a bit of a pain to mount if you don't have the right stand, so make sure you pick up one with the right threads or cold shoe mount.

This microphone is a big improvement over the built in mic on my iPhone 7 plus, however it only works well if you are 12-18 from the speaker. Once you get 2-3' away the sound falls apart.

Excellent design, easy to use and does just what it is supposed to at reasonable price. I use it on dslr even when capturing audio on external device. Wind screen an added bonus and works well. My first test run was on an a boat in open water, worked like a champ, no wind noise.

I was looking for a small compact microphone for my sony a6300 when I purchased this mic. After reviewing a few clips, it was clear that there was still some static in the background, but the overall quality of sound was greatly improved. The static is easily removed in post, making the mic a perfect fit for my uses as a videographer and my budget as a college student.

I've been looking for a mic for general production. My on camera mic is omnidirectional and I was hoping to get a shotgun that would help me out. This mic does great! Even from a distance the mic still picks up perfectly, but if you can get this mic right about your actor then it's perfect for a run and gun shoot. Also, the mic uses plug in power, so I have no issues with keeping up with batteries.

Be careful!!! This mic picks up everything! I wish it was more directional but it still sounds wonderful. Make sure you adjust the incoming signal to your camera or smart phone so that it's not too hot.

This is a great option for vlogging. Much better sound than the built in mic on any camera, but will not compare to a full sized Rode Shotgun mic. Not surprising because it less than 1/2 the price. I had to user modify the mic mount to work with the cold shoe extension for a vlogging rig. Would be great if you could rotate the mount 90 degrees (with out cutting off the tabs).

I have a Panasonic G7 and wanted this mic as something that could keep my rig compact and yet give me good sound quality. I wanted to be able to throw it in my bag and grab it quickly if needed to get something when I'm on the go. This really worked out great for that and I think it's a product you would be very pleased with as well.
