If you need a upgrade for you DSLR camera this is a great choice. Very easy to use and really improves the sound for DSLR cameras.

Very good mic to get rid off the DSLR mic that sucks obviously. Great battery life but little tricky to get the -20/-10db controls inside the battery space.

I got this mic for my Canon Rebel T2i. Works perfectly fine - much better than the built-in onboard mic. the build feels a bit flimsy, but overall I'm happy with it.

This mic is great, because it provides great sound for a very low price. When plugged direct to the camera, it does not work great, but when used with external recorder, it is AWESOME!

For the price, the quality is outstanding. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a way to add high-quality audio for a consumer-level price.

I bought this mic to use with my dslr vdeo rig, I was quite suprised when I sawAn how big this really is... It almost the same size as a canon 70-200mm f/4 L lens!

Rode is a popular brand, and for a on the go style of shooting, this is perfect. From my experience, I feel it's better to sepnd the extra cash on the Azden SMG-1X.

the problem is you're flying blind, at least with my t3i, since there's only 1 8th inch jack. otherwise it's a solid mounted shotgun.

I used this mic in a short film that I made called Two Wheels, One Passion (You can watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1MG6XjTOxw ). It is definitely better than my DSLR's interior mic but it is not the highest quality. The dead cat worked really well when I was a shooting outside and didn't pick up any wind. I found I have no need for the boompole because I just mount the mic on my camera.

Love the quality of the mic on my canon t2i but when used with my fisheye 8mm lens the mic shows in the video. I would recommend this mic with another lens for sure.

I bought this before buying the 80D Creator kit which came with the Rhode travel mic. This one definitely sounds better for directional indoor use.

This is used to get interviews at very noisy Racetrack's.We can actually hear what someone is saying and they don't have to be right in your face.

Imagine the sound of the 5D, lounder, and just a bot cleaner for the voice. But the ambiant noise will not be erased.
