I use the Rode VideoMic for making short videos on my Canon 5D MKII. Sound is excellent and keeps out all the noises that the internal mike would normally pick up from focusing, changing zoom distances, etc.

My son uses this microphone for making movies with his friends. It has really done the job. Great product for the price.

I've used this microphone a few times since I got it and it has pleasantly surprised me each time. This is by no means a substitute for a good boom or wireless, but as something to get full sounding sound, it works.

Easy connection, secure mount, simple shock dampening system. 2 settings. Does improve sound recording. The high setting filters well unwanted noise. Will require extension bracket with some LCD monitor locations.

This produce is very handy when it comes to traveling around town with my camera backpack. The mic picks up sound very well and there are now downsides to it. GREAT PRODUCT! I shoot with the Canon T2i.

versatile and quick to mount, needs better placement so you can use viewfinder to take snap shots as well. your head hits the back when trying stills shots. Moving the mount forward and sliding the mic back to keep weight balance will enable both video and stills to be taken

This mic is great, it produces great sound in a very simple frame. The one thing I would say is that a dead cat is needed if you shoot in the wind. Other than it does pick up some wind noise the mic is wonderful, easy to use and gets the job done.

When mounted on my 70d the form factor was to large. Using a Lens 35mm or less the tip of the mic was in the frame. I had to send it back to B&H. Other wise it was an OK mic.

So far I have used this mic on one shoot. I had it hooked up to my Nikon D7000. The audio was crisp and I didn't experience any problems with it. It's lightweight but feels durable. The shock mount was the feature that sold me on this model.

I could not believe how loud this mic was. I am using a Vixia HF s200. When there is no noise in the room, you will hear static to the level of white noise. It rendered the video unusable. Sent it back. Not sure what else to say.

great mic i love it the sound is amazingly better than the on camera audio, I would recommend if you are going to do any outdoor shooting to get a wind sock because this mic is very sensitive and picks up wind easily, other than the this product is great

this mic is a little touchy, so you have to try it out before you use it for something you want. It definitely is great, i even used it on a audio recorder. awesome sound.

The VideoMic is simply great. Good audio quality, light weight, easy to use and the battery lasts forever ! I bought it to use with my 60D and the improvement on audio quality was huge. With or without it its like water and wine :D and - the best part - low priced ;)

I bought this to use with my canon 60d. I chose the shotgun over the stereo because isolating the sound is going to be more important that having stereo in almost every case that I'm shooting. I do commercials and wedding videos.

You will need to buy a dead kitten/ wooly wind-jammer to really eliminate wind noise. Plastic construction seems cheap and flimsy BUT hasn't broken yet. Integrated shockmount is cute. Not bad for a first shotgun. Plenty of room for improvement IF you are willing to spend more money.

Audio good, easy to handle and with good design. I use a Nikon in D7000 and the audio is far superior to the microphone on the camera.

I used this mic to film a theater performance, as well as interview people. am very happy with the quality of the results. A little bulky in appearance, I was a little concerned about using it. However, it is very easy to use once I mounted it onto a mic/light handle.

What can I tell you, it's as all the reviews say...brilliant!! I mainly use this mic from reference audio, however it's definitely able to be used for more crucial recording. Thoroughly impressed with my purchase, I'll always buy Rode from now!!
