Love this little mic! Fits perfectly on top of my a7sII and gets MUCH better audio than the in-camera mic. The dual channel for clipping protection feature is great, as well as the high pass filters and high end boost for use with the windshield. I even use this boomed with great results.

I have been enjoying my Rode VideoMic NTG. The sound is very clear and highly directional. My favorite feature is the manual gain dial on the back, which is great for adjustments while recording. It has a great compact size and form factor. A great addition to any camera.

Doing what it says it will do. Need it for medium to med close up shots and it's in the 5 ft area where it shines or comes alive. 5ft works for me from a gopro lens so your mileage will vary. After 5ft when I have a lav mic I use it to thicken the track. Nice so far fingers crossed. Cheers

my first decent mic so not much experience to go on other than it works very well and is a very flexible design. Like that the cold shoe also has a 1/4 thread option. No software needed, just plug and play. sound quality is excellent. purchased to use with computer and camera.

This mic is amazing, the silent gain knob is a great feature. This mic can double as a podcast mic or a boom mic. with the RODE quality and backing, you are pretty much assured not to have any issues. This is the 3rd RODE mic I own, there is a reason I keep using them. They WORK.

Small shotgun mic that doesn't need a different TRRS cable for phones. Excellent quality and well made. I have also used it for podcasting/voiceovers via USB when travelling and reproduces good quality audio. Battery is solid.

I'm not well versed in the qualities of mics; novice here. But, it is easy to use, the company provides great support via their website (text and video explanations), and it works well with my camera and phone. So far, no complaints.

The USB-C audio is fantastic and the auto-on and auto-off feature is seamless. The auto-switch feature for camera vs. phone is great, but unfortunately you need to buy a $25 usb-c to lightning adapter for the iphone. Otherwise a great mic for a great price.

Talk about a feature packed on-camera mic. Two different low pass filters, safety channel recording, auto on/off feature, gain control, and NTG technology? All for $250? I plan on pairing it with the DMW-XLR1 for my S1H and excited to hear the results.

This is the perfect middle ground for an on and off camera option. Keep it in camera for great sound and control or pop it on a boom for interviews.

I've used other brands, Rode is as good if not better. Used it fas a audio source for our Church stream. Audio quality is at its best when placed close to source - in my case a speaker.

Really good form, still waiting for the windjammer/ deadcat to be released though, but worried about wind with this one. Otherwise an excellent mic.

The sound is crisp and captures the ambiance well. It also filters the sounds you do not need to hear and gives the target a rich detailed sound. I had the VMP and this definitely sounds better.
