I ordered this mic because of doing multiple Zoom sessions per day for business. Some people were complaining of a hissing sound coming from my computer mic. Although I work in entertainment, I don't do voiceover work. So sound quality is important, but an expensive studio sound set up is not required. One complaint I hear about other mics is that they are so sensitive that they pick up too much background noise, including every keystroke. The Rode, with its pop filter and desktop stand, sits right next to my laptop and has performed very well. There have been no complaints of hissing, background noise or keystroke sounds. I'm very pleased! ... More

So I am starting a YouTube Channel and a Podcast in the Chicago area, and really wanted to have a good, professional quality microphone for it. I literally spent weeks reading reviews, comparing this between NT-1, NT-1A, and countless other microphones. I finally decided on this one for the great reviews it received, and I have to say I understand why people love this thing. Straight out of the box it is ready to rock. I hooked it up, fired up Adobe Audition, and within 5 minutes of opening the box I was making my first recording. If you are considering it, just buy it and try it. This microphone does not disappoint. ... More

I give the mic 5 stars as great for narration on my market videos. It says it comes with a case....and it does...the only thing that fits is the mic itself with the shield removed. I would prefer to put everything in one case, but not but the mic fits leaving the stand, the cord, and the shield out in the cold.

Rarely are things as simple as the plug and play advertising in the marketing, but this mic meets that talking point perfectly - literally 10 minutes from unboxing to plugging in, and choosing the Rode mic in the Windows menu. Done. The polar pattern, cardoid, 20Hz to 20kHz range, the included pop screen and a 20' cable connector are all you need to set it up and go. Yes, it comes with a stand, which works, but I upgraded that one aspect with a heavier, extendable desk mic stand which I like very much and would recommend. Bottom line, the build is excellent, the sound quality is outstanding, and it's beyond easy to use; so for this price, it's a steal. ... More

I own the Podcaster and love how they sound. I was looking for a USB microphone to do quick voice overs, so I wouldn't have to break out all the gear to use the Procaster. Well, I was hesitant that the NT-usb mini would be as good of quality, but took a shot anyway. Boy! Was I pleasantly surprised! Not only was the NT mini easy to use the quality for voice over was the same as the procaster! I tried song singing and it recorded them beautifully too. It's a great mic for podcasting if it's just you. I highly recommend the NT-USB mini, hard to beat for the price. ... More

I have been using it for me and my daughters audio and instrument recording. It works great. She recently performed Facebook live it worked out awesome. I felt that it brings out the original voice of the singer. It was warm and full. The biggest difference between the Blue yeti and this one is it does not pickup the noise or hiss that I found in blue yeti. As I compared both I was able to see how flat the voice curve was in Audacity when my daughter was not singing where as blue yeti picked up annoying noise and hiss sound. I will definitely recommend this microphone ... More

When I went to record my first voice over - the recording was static filled, washed and leering. After some investigation, I found it was the RODE provided USB Cable...After trying a few usb-c cables of my own I found a sturdier Nimaso brand cable was strong enough to carry the signal clearly. Now the mic works like a charm. The audio is great and the build of the product is sturdy. RODE simply overlooked the importance of a strong cable to the integrity of this mic and that should be addressed.

I already had the Blue Yeti USB Microphone, but I was looking for something that was more compact and I could use with my iPad. Well, I found it and it is built like a tank! The sound quality is really great, I have a deeper voice so sometimes mics miss what I say, the NT-USB doesn't miss a beat! I was able to record my podcast episodes in my car too, it really focuses on your voice and doesn't pick up everything around you which was one of my hesitations when buying another USB mic. This mic has really changed the USB mic standard, 10/10 would recommend ... More

This microphone works well. I particularly like the monitor feature which can be disabled. I use it for video calls and for recording training videos. The recording part is good and I don't really need the monitor. But when doing video calls, it's useful to hear myself as I use noise cancelling headphones that are pretty isolating even when the NC feature is turned off. Two things I would like on this mike: I would like a mute button, and the audio device often doesn't work on linux most of the time. Some times it does after a reboot, but most of the time I have to resort to another headset for calls. Oh and the integrated pop filter does not really work. But I was expecting that. ... More

I have used the rode wireless and small shotgun for the past two years on a broadcast television show. For a new venture, a video podcast that is linked up with the other show host in Las Vegas, using their video hookup, but the computer audio, the sound was not sharp and we had to deal with a slight delay. Rode to the rescue, where combined with the adjustable mike arm extender, the audio quality is now what I want. My only criticism of the package was a lack of instructions for the extension arm. Using come common sense and checking it on-line via YouTube, it wasn't too difficult to assemble, but instructions would have save some time. ... More

I'm teaching my son the power of social media by making YouTube videos. Investing in a Logitech C920 webcam and the Blue Yeti microphone. I was disappointed that the Yeti was defective out of the box. Unimpressed by it's build quality I searched for a premium quality microphone designed for a PC. After a little research I ordered the newly released Rode NT-USB. The craftsmanship is superb, the mic itself is metal while the pop shield and stand are plastic. I have no experience with professional sound, however I feel the sound quality is excellent. Playback of my own voice is powerful, smooth, and inspiring. This is a serious piece of equipment, one you will be happy to own and use. ... More

This microphone is very easy to setup, simply plug and use with your favorite DAW. It exceeded my expectations for the quality of recording vocals! It does not pick up on alot of background noise and does not emit any hissing sound. It captures the highs and lows of vocals really well and does not distort the recording of vocals if sung to close to the microphone! It puts the Blue Yeti to shame in terms of overall quality and sound!

This is my first usb condenser mic. I purchased it primarily for audiobook and voiceover practice. It's sound quality is nearly as good as the studio microphones I've used. Set-up is as simple as plugging the mic into your computer's USB port and plugging a headset into the 3mm jack on the side of the mic. After successfully recording full chapters of books to submit to authors, I can confidently say this mic is worth the money. Highly recommended.

I've had one of these microphones for a while. I used it for Zoom and phone calls on my Mac Book. In addition, I've used it for an audio voice project that is currently in progress. I purchased a second mic to allow for an easy to transport and use mobile recording setup using Rode Connect. Very pleased with the outcome of that setup. The sound quality of these mics is very good and paired with Ride Connect requires no post processing. I do make changes in post but only to apply a vocal profile. The product is great and works with my iMac and Laptop. While it does work with other iOS devices via the lightning to USB adapter from Apple, it DOES NOT work with the iPad Pro USB-C based. Tried different adapters and opened a case with Rode but they left me out without a solution. The iPad Pro recognizes the Microphone as an output device as you hear the iPad audio on any app via the microphone monitor headphone. I am sure this is a software issue that Rode should invest more time in resolving,

Listeners on the other end report that my voice is very clear. I made some test voice recordings. They compare the use of the built in mic to the NT-USB Mini. I was surprised to hear how similar the two recordings appeared to be. However, I learned that the closer to the mic I speak from, the is better. For that purpose, the NT-USB Mini is better suited. ... More
