This inexpensive lavalier mike works like a champ. The sound is 5x as good as the built-in mike for doing interviews. I was at a busy arts and crafts show, trying to do interviews, plagued by side conversations and ambient sound until I hooked up the lav: crystal clear sound from the interviewee with a modest amount of background sound for good ambience.

Very good microphone for the price. Nice feature: sends separate signals to both channels (pseudo-stereo), its useful for editing audio. Light, compact, convenient, no interference like with radio mikes, long cord. Best to use with DSLR cameras. Of course, fragile... Just need to be careful as with any other electronics... Put it in a small rigid box. Keep an extra battery on hand.

I've been looking for an economical Lavalier microphone for a while now. I rarely do video work, and when I do it's mostly closeup interview stuff, so this fit the bill perfectly. I've only used the microphone once so far, and it worked just peachy! My only complaints are that the battery compartment was a bit tricky to get open, and the little tiny microphone afro wind screen fell off and got lost the first time I used it. But that's just me nit picking - it's a good product.

Gets the job done, but doesn't produce great audio. Good for amateur use. Not great for use outdoors, even with the windscreen (which falls off a lot). The cord is extra long, which can be convenient or annoying, depending on your use. But great mic for the price.

I used the OLM-10 for several interviews. It worked much better than I thought $20 would get me. I did notice it tended to distort a bit with higher pitch sounds. The foam windscreen (which is needed for good quality) falls off way to easily. A few dabs of superglue and it was perfect. Also, there is no light to tell you if its working so you have to test every time by recording.

Works great so far. Super long cable. I wasn't expecting a long cable. We just tuck it the pockets of the people being interviewed. That long cable will be handy at times when needed. Great quality. Like it.

This thing does exactly what I need it for. It lets my subjects be further away from the camera while still picking up their voices. The sound is crisp and clear. It can be tricky to hide the wire if that's a concern, but it's not a real big problem. Overall, for the price, I get exactly what I need. I'm not a sound engineer, so I don't know if the quality is professional or not, but I'd feel comfortable in using it to that level.

I used this to record audio to a 'how to' video; it was hooked under the shirt (so not visible) and threaded to an inexpensive Sony recorder in the performer's back pocket. It picked up the voice, light ambient sounds, the sounds of items placed on the table, and the voice of the assistant! The only problem encountered was that I left it on overnight and had to go find replacement batteries . . . oops.

I don't have a fine enough ear to hear the difference between this mic capsule and a sennheiser, but I can way easily tell that when you use this for your screen calls on your pc laptop with the bad audio (gave it to my friend to use on her screen calls on her pc), it is night and day. first of all, the audio is captured from inches from your mouth, but the audio just came through smooth and clean.

Recurring bad battery contact, not by manufacturing defect, but by construction. Very thin and fragile battery locking cap. I bought a BY-M1 Boya here in Brazil for half the price, with the same audio resolution, in much stronger aluminum structure for amp circuit and battery compartment. I can not recommend this Polsen OLM-10.

We use three of these in a high school media class. They have acceptable sound for interviews, although I wouldn't say the sound is bright enough for professional use. The cable is thin and the plastic battery compartment is not rugged, but again for the price it's fine. One of the three arrived DOA and was quickly replaced by B&H. This mic is nearly identical to the Audio-Technica ATR3350iS (we have five of these), but the AT mic has a metal battery holder.

I run a video lab on a university campus. For the beginning classes, students use consumer palmcorders for their projects. As you would expect, sound issues are prominent throughout the semester. However, these mics really make a difference. It's a great lesson as well, training them not to rely on camera mics when the move into more professional gear. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the on/off switch.

First off, I use the my lapel mic for one on one interviews. The sound quality is fantastic! The simple connection to my Canon G20 and G30 camcorders is amazing. All around the OLM-0 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone by Polsen is one of the best microphones I've purchased! Very Statisfied!

The microphone made a huge difference. It was recommended to be by B&H specifically for my video camera. I was filming from a 8-10 foot distance. The camera did an adequate job of picking up sound. Plugged in the mic now it is crystal clear. The on, off switch is a little hard to read but sound quality is much better.

This little mic improved my interviews tenfold compared to my built-in camera mic! Sound is crystal clear. A little on/off switch box on cord to save battery life (remember to turn on for audio! I had no sound for a second, then remembered!). Includes a standard to larger mic adapter; however, had to buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to use this mic with my Lumix GH2 DSLR. Additional note: Be careful not to lose the tiny wind/pop shield! Enjoy! Worth the price!!

The foam screen is a piece of junk, but otherwise, this little mic is worth the buck! Used it this weekend pointed in the direction of the interviewee, instead of clipped on, and the audio turned out nice! Also, I bought some foam screens from a local video shop and they fit great. I'd recommend this affordable tool to amateur/semi-pro/indie/documentary filmmakers. For five stars, they'd have to include a better foam screen.

Inexpensive lav mics are in hot demand if they work. This mike is noisy, has low input sensitivity, anf does noy play well with mixers. I am returning it and will purchase a more expensive upgrade. BH is great with returns. I have used the Audio Technica version of this lav and it is by far a better mic --with a similar price tag.

I normally order my gear from the internet since the grade and price of gear at B & H always seemed to exceed my tight budget. For some reason I had it set in my mind that B & H only carried high-end professional gear, but I was indeed wrong. Their selection appeals to any and every level of film maker. This lav works wonders for the price. It's durable, clear, and lengthy. Hello clear formal interview audio. I'll be going to B & H much more for my gear now.

It actually has less line noise than my XLR lavalier mic despite the fact that it's got a thin 20 foot cable that probably isn't balanced like XLR mic cables. I just wish it had a cardiod pick-up pattern instead of an omni since my reason for using a lavalier is to eliminate ambient sounds from interview audio. But it's an affordable solution and is good to have on hand as a back-up mic or a primary mic for quick set-ups.

To be this good and this cheap is amazing. I plug into my Canon 6D and T2i and it performs much better than the built in microphones. It also performs better than some other microphones I have that cost a lot more money. If you want better sound than this expect to pay a LOT more money. This is the best cheap microphone I have ever used.
