I am very please with my purchase of the ME-1. It's a compact design that fits nicely atop my camera. The sound quality and stereo separation is quite good considering its size. I would strongly recommend that this mic be used at all times with the wind sock when doing video outside. Even the slightest breeze causes noise which is likely associated with the mic's sensitivity. All-in-all a great addition to my camera accessory kit.

This microphone really improves the sound when recording with a DSLR, the best part is that with the microphone you dont hear the sounds of the autofocus which is really notiseble othervise. The only drawback I have is that it looks and feels very flimsy.

This stereo microphone is used with my Nikon D800 camera when filming in the movie mode. Sound quality is good. Works as advertised. Connecting the microphone cord to the camera via the flexible rubber door on the left hand side of the camera is a bit strange. The door must be left hanging open when the cord is plugged into the camera, thereby limiting the left hand side grip.

The Nikon ME-1 works great with strong stereo sound and low background noise. I have only used it a couple of times so far; once in a studio and once on location for disaster relief involving chainsaws and noisy power equipment. The tree cracking sounded awesome! The best thing I like about it is no batteries. The mini-jack powers the mike. I had the Azden, but that has switches all over it and the power switch failed. No switches on the Nikon. Works great with the D850.

The unit was really tight getting into the accessory shoe. I thought I was going to break it off. The first test I recorded a show off the television and was very surprised that the sound quality was really good. I had seen Youtube videos and that were not all that great. The actual product in hand performed well. It should do exactly what I need. I am going to be recording indoors in small rooms and with low amounts of noise. Great I think for Vlogging.

This stereo microphone for Nikon D5100 video recording fits into the external flash socket. It helps to eliminate the noise of the lense focusing motor. The drawback is it interfers with the built-in flash function. It is expensive and it is an extra piece of equipment to carry.

I was hopeful that in a quiet environment this mic would suffice as a primary mic for recording interviews. No such luck. Frankly, the built in mic on my Canon Rebel T3i is a better performing mic for this purpose. The quality of the sound is also rather tinny. I guess there's no substitute for micing the interview with a clip on. The ME-1 is very easy to use, compact and attractive. I would think its best use would be to capture nat sound in a windy environment.

This mic does deliver better audio than the built in mic on my Nikon D5500. However, it's claim to dramatically reduce the autofocus noise in the video is just not true. It's a good mic for just over $, just be aware that you'll still hear your camera lens' autofocus.

I attache this mic to my D7000 or D800 when making videos that require high quality sound. Great crystal clear sound, a must have for photographers involved in video or videographers looking for a fully compatible and affortable piece of equipment

Use with D5100, produces decent audio quality. Kind of a pain to manage cord... Doesn't pick up lens focus sounds, which is the point. Also use with garageband on MacBook Air 2012, works very well.

It is a huge improvement from the built-in mic that is contained in the camera body. I still have not worked with it enough to filter out at least some of the ambient unwanted background noise. A great value for what it delivers.

This microphone works well at reducing some of the noise caused by manual adjustments of the camera during filming.

I bought this as I was needing a small Mic to improve the quality of video on my Nikon SLR. For the price I think it's pretty good and does the job well. The Mic. still pick some noise with some lenses but overall the recording quality improve dramatically compared to the standard in camera mic. An essential purchase in my opinion.

Have been doing some family video with the senior family members who do not have the strongest voices. The ME-1 and 25' extension are the perfect solution to get up close and personal audio. You can place the mike on the camera or anywhere in the scene with top quality audio results. In my case I used it with my D7200 for production quality video and audio.

Mic works good but has a loud white noise in the background that no ones seems to mention on YouTube videos. But for the price its a pretty good mic and you cant hear it as much outdoors.

I can't believe how well this mic picks up sound! It was easy to set up and use immediately. It makes the built in mic seems so quiet when using this one. What a great find.

Very simple and straightforward to use right out of the box. Works great on my Nikon D600 for weddings and I'm looking forward to using it at other events, as well.

Great mic for shooting small videos indoors and outside. My only complaint is that the fit on my D810 is not good. Have an awful tight fit onto the hotshoe so have to leave it over halfway off and tighten the lock screw. Otherwise, the mic works perfectly.
