Comfortable, efficient, warm and detailed sound. Great bass, smooth midrange and clear treble, flat curve and no distortion. They bring music to life. Unbeatable at twice the price. The Senheiser's 'equivalent' (PX-100) is a good try, but they come up short. These are the best portable headphones at any price. Period. They sound great, are comfortable and compact. They even have an attractive price. How could you improve on that?

Great dynamic range. I heard my mp3 files play sounds that I did not hear on my Sony headphones. The phones are light weight and they fold up into a small pouch for storage. Given the fold-ability, the wires may get stress so I'm being careful with it. Other than that I'm happy with these phones as I have been with all Koss Products I've owned including the Pro 4AA's I originally bought many years ago.

I own the bose quiet headphones and their great problem is you have to charge them....ugh....and their almost 300.00 bucks. I remember as a kid (I'm 50 now) that Koss were the headphones to have and for the 30.00 bucks I figure what the heck. WOW! They sound as good as the bose, no need for charging and have a metal head band not a cheap piece of plastic. I LOVE them, I actually gave the bose to my 10 year old son for his i-pod. If I had to pick one issue it's the cord is a little too short, nothing an extention doesn't fix however. ... More

Great sound, great range, one of the cheapest and best headphones out there. An added bonus is that they look straight outta 1984, and that your are at the helm of mission control (because you are when you rock these phones). A few notes: 1) If you work in a quiet office, the headphones do leak some sound and others can hear it. (at higher volumes) 2) I set my ear pressure pads to light so that they headphones don't press as firmly to me ears, this works well and haven't had a problem with comfort since. 3) The way the headphones collapse is super retro and worth showing to your friends. ... I bought these Koss headphones to use for commuting. I know they are not 'sound-cancelling' but I didn't really want that. They have good sound, good bass and I can hear much more of the details in the music than with my other Koss phones. My set did not come with instructions, so I had to watch a Youtube video to figure out the fold-up feature, but not really a problem. The only thing I wish is if these came with a volume control on the cord, so I don't have to go to my tablet to control volume.

The PortaPro headphones are one of my favourite over ear headphones i've come across. The major problem with them is how flimsy they are. I have gone through two pairs in the last two years because they break real easy. First, the on-ear bit broke off and then the cord hooking up to the jack busted, making only one ear usable. They do have a great sound for the value though. I think with better care, this new pair will last longer.

I use these headphones with my iPhone, Laptop and other MP3 players and find them to be very comfortable and very compact. The sound quality after breaking them in is awesome for this price point. I also have a pair of Senheizer PX100 II's and I think the sound is similar for less money. The Koss Portapros come in a little carry bag that is quite useful. I only hope Koss continue to make these as I remember trying these at a store about 25 years ago @ $ Australian Dollars.

A casual audio consumer, I use my Apple iTouch to listen to audio books and music. My son investigated these headphones online and reported a broad consensus that they deliver great sound, particularly relative to their price. I like them--rich bass and subtle trebles complement their full range of volume. Light weight and compactible, they travel well, but they do seem delicate. My only complaint, a minor one, is that the storage bag is too small for easy stuffing.

This headphone has a very good bass response. Listening to In The Hall of the Mountain King, for instance, with my old headphone, I could not hear the cello very clearly and other subtleties were lost. With the PortaPro, it's almost as if I were hearing the piece live.

If you know what you're buying you won't be disappointed. While they lack some features of other headphones such as sound canceling, they do have magnificent sound quality and not too low of volume. They seem kind of fragile at first as they fold easily, but after handling them for a while they've held up fine. Also, the folding really does add to the portability quite a bit.A recommended buy. And they're only $!

I've bought them for my iPod, they sound great!, although the may look ugly for some, I am not bothered by their appearance. The sound is less bright than the sound from the KSC 75, but the tonal balance is better. Some people may complain that they are open headphones, but I always use them in quiet environments to enjoy the music. Another good thing is that they include an adapter for the bigger plug found in stereos.

Light weight and very comfortable to wear for long monitoring sessions. The sound is clear and accurate. Never heard headphones as good for double the price.

These are the best headphones you can buy under $50. There is a reason they have been around for 25 years. I bought my 1st pair back in 1985 to use with my walkman! I now use them for my ipod. They have a life time warranty! I am on my 3rd pair. Use them up and when they break down, ... and they will send you another pair! How can you beat that. I own several other higher end head phones and these hold their own. Great sound at a great price!

We are a recording studio with a bar in the basement. We also have a record label and have live performances in the live room of the studio. We just built a display case to hold all our CDs from the label in the lobby. I installed an Ipod so people could listen to the cds before they purchase them and also to listen to a sample from an upcoming concert. These headphones are great. Short cord, great sound, cool retro design.

These headphones are probably the best ones I have ever putted on my head. I can't compare with more expensive headphones but I bet in this price level PortaPro does not have a competition. The sound will blow your mind. Clear but bass full thick sound. I don't find PortaPro as ugly as some other people. I don't love the design but overall, think it looks cool. I found them comfortable. I have no issue with PortaPro on my head whatsoever. I ordered PortaPro two times and I'm very satisfied.

I love these headphones. So far I've had great results using the porta pros for both my motorola droid 2 and my ipod touch. The good things about them are the sound quality and how comfortable they are. The only thing I would change would be the dual wire connection instead of having just one to one side. Great quality for the money you spend especially considering the lifetime guarantee.

Having ears that resemble certain characters from The Lord of the Rings, I've long struggled to find headphones that are comfortable, with great sound, and that are affordable. These tick all three boxes - with the added bonus of portability thanks to their folding mechanism and the top quality carry case that came with them.

I had a pair of these headphones over 20 years ago and they were years ahead of their time! Now with Bose, Dr Dre beats, and Skullcandy dominating the market, the Koss Porta Pro Jr are still holding their own over 20 years later. Just received my new pair of Porta Pro Jr's, and they are still just as good as 20 years ago!

The Koss Portapro are the best relation quality for the money that you can find. They are very light and comfortables. The sound is very flat, depending the positioning (touching or not your ears). They are well situated for jazz and pop music, but in classic and acoustic music they sound very well too... INCREDIBLE FOR THE MONEY!!
