The JBL Charge 4 is an incredible sound wrapped in a stylish package It is sleek but rugged, and feels very sturdy well constructed with excellent materials. It was easy to pair with my Android phone and the first song played, the quality of the speaker rang out with deep lows and sharp high notes. I was impressed with its full bodied sound

Extremely pleased with this speaker, it’s the right size, is smart with a simple appearance, & above all, sounds GREAT. There are reviews that don’t rate its bass depth but it copes with my drum & bass tastes very well. Cannot comment on battery life as yet as it’s still on it’s first charge.

I was using it plugged in to charger and it was draining the battery. Had it plugged in all day when not using it but it wasn't charging. It ran out of juice the next day while I was using it. I then turned it off and it started charging. A little while later it had the 5 lights lit indicating full charge. Tried to turn on and nothing. The power light goes on when you plug it in but the bluetooth does not turn on. The one thing I have to say I like about it is its spheroid type shape. It feels really good in your hand as you are throwing it into the garbage. ... More

I have two Bose Color 2 speakers, and was having some problems, the sound was good, but the blue tooth and WiFi connection to both speakers was not working without continuous attempts to connect to source. I read good reviews for the JBL Charge 4 speaker, I ordered two from B&H, fast delivery, and speakers are exceptional when compared to the Bose Color 2 speakers. Connecting both speakers to the source is a breeze. The sound is very good, I would buy them again if needed, and I highly recommend them.

We listen almost entirely to classical music, and wanted a Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen. Reviews pointed toward this one, and they were on target. Setup is easy (despite minimal instructions), and the sound is very good (it would be excellent if there were more in the mid-bass). The only (minor) annoyance is the sounds it makes when it is turned on and shut off.

can't use it without plug , I need plug in first , then it's on automatically ( battery fully charged) when I switch it off after use its on and off on and off , annoying when you sleep and all night you hear it when it's on and of. Try to give it back bat at argos I was told they will accept it after lockdown.

Came with a decent charge. Shows right up; pairs easily. In business in a flash. It's got some decibels, too. A nice round sound right out of the box. You can play with EQ, of course, but it's just a nice bring-along for picnics or the beach or lakeside... You get the idea. They say it's water proof or repellent but I wouldn't throw it in the lake. Long battery life, too. I'd buy it again, and again... And I could link all of them, up to 100 speakers... That's a big picnic.

Was a little bit smaller than I was expecting but don’t let that put you off , brought this for around the house and it’s perfect , really clear sound , just the right amount of base and is very loud , very easy to connect and use and the battery lasts for so long unlike other speakers I’ve owned, , Overall I’m really happy with this speaker and totally recommend it , you won’t be disappointed

I had the JBL Charge 3 for more than 2 years and used it daily for many hours. The battery started lasting only an hour so I bought the Charge 4. Its got quite good sound compared to smaller portable speakers and still a good size to carry with on holidays. Brought it with me on a ski trip where we had the speaker close to the jacuzzi while it was snowing and even fell in the water and it continued working fine. You can leave it outdoors playing while it's raining as its totally waterproof.

This portable speaker sounds excellent for it's size. Don't expect it to out preform a good set of bookself speakers and a receiver. However if you're tired of listening to your music library on phone speakers and want something that has way better sound quality and dynamic range then say a 90s style boom box this is perfect. I love being able to play my music library out loud again and actually hear the music. I highly recommend it.

I’ve had the smaller version of this speaker before and I went for the next size up and wouldn’t look back on it !!! Very loud never have it up to its limits as no need perfect sound and bass at mid range. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a compact speaker that has home speaker sounds

Expect it to be the best speaker you can get for 100£. It is very loud and sounds nice. It has got god bass. The only downside is the phone app as it can only update the firmware and connect it to multiple speakers. If you connect it to a computer you will notice that if the volume of a scene of a movie is too quiet it will not reproduce it. It's only an issue of you play too quietly. If you don't have to be too quiet then it's all good.

Great travelling speaker, attractive design; not the best though. Frequencies lost due to the lack of separation of sound: the speaker only has one driver: not stereo. Intermodulation distortion occurs. Low end in bass heavy tracks are lost but has rich mids and highs. These low end lost frequencies are found in the JBL flip 5: it's newer in its release and design (it isn't as loud though). At 80% volume only really high pitched frequencies are left as bass is lost. Ease of use however is great.

This replaces an older model JBL that was inadvertently left in the driveway and was unable to withstand a 6,000 lb SUV! This model offers a great combination of size and sound quality. If you are looking for a speaker with some heft, several ways to connect, and a battery that lasts a good long while, this is the one. Highly recommended after LOTS of research of the current competition...

Came on time, fantastic sound. Sadly I had to return it as it came with a defective battery, which wouldn’t charge to full even after over 10 hours of charging. Had to return it as there wasn’t another immediately available for exchange. Besides all that the product seemed fantastic with excellent sound. Just the defective battery spoilt everything for me.

It is quite big, compared to other bluetooth speakers, but sound quality and bass are amazing. Battery lasts as it says on the box, 20 hours ish, depends on how loud you listen. Could do with fast charge, as now takes over 4hours to charge. Other than that it is another good example from JBL. Quality as usual. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Love the enhancement from the Charge 3. Especially the additional Bass. The only real issue is the Bluetooth connectivity, it seems like there's more of an issue with connecting via Bluetooth. And because of bluetooth transmission while using Party Mode, there's some frequency interference. Too bad one unit doesn't relay signal to another in Party Mode. The signal solely comes from the main unit; not transmitted from the main to a second then the second to the third.

I bought this speaker in December 2019. The sound is great. I thought it would last a long time. After only 15 months the speaker is dead. I'm told the lithium battery is probably bad and the battery cannot be replaced. So much for reliability. I expected more from JBL therefore I won't buy another JBL bluetooth speaker.

Looked at a couple of different brands, saw other reviews expressing the great sound. I agree. Easy to connect, the charge holds very well, only have charged once since received. Solid construction, and with B and H's excellent service I am very happy with this purchase. I may order another for two locations that i would use this in. Great purchase, sound unheard and took a chance.
