I own a lot of high dollar gear and this is my first Behringer piece. I needed a mixer for my vintage synth sound module rack and I gave this one a try. I've been very pleased and I've been using it for quite some time. It's quiet and the effects are surprisingly good. BUT HERE"S THE REAL DEAL! I just bought a brand new high dollar PC laptop with W7 64 bit and everything came to screeching halt. (No it wasn't a mac. Sorry.) Anyhow, I'm experiencing what everyone else is with this new OS. Most or all of your gear, even with their so called W7 driver, doesn't work without issues. So I though, Hey! That new mixer has a USB Port so I plugged it in to see what would happen. W7 found it and installed a CODEX Driver. I downloaded ASIO4ALL to use instead an it works like a charm. No dropouts, pops, clicks, or noise! AMAZING! I tried it with Reason 4, Cubase 5, FL Studio 9, and Live 8 and it all works. Granted you can only record in two channel stereo, but if you hit the solo button you can isolate a track or you can adjust all of your channel levels and record the entire band at one time. This gem works as a great recording audio interface. I love this mixer and I'm going to buy another one just to prove it. ... More

This is a very simple easy to use mixer that I really did enjoy working on. This is perfect for recording live shows, because you can record, mix and monitor mix all at the same time. (It only records one stereo track at a time at 16bit 48kHz) Everyone in my two bands generally use pedal effects, and sometimes we canۡt have practice where all of our big amps are, so we usually just chain up the effects, plug directly to the mixer and play out of one amp. Mixing is a breeze and itۡs a much easier way to set up and get the right levels for practicing. The onboard compression isnۡt all that great but itۡs nice to have that option. The effects processor has amazing effects, I was very impressed with them, and however I don't really use them, but again, nice to have. The preamps are a little noisy, especially when using phantom power, so make sure the channels that arenۡt being used are muted and the gain is all the way down. Overall, worth the money. ... I just received my mixer one day ago.I read the manual and put it to work.It does what it said it would do.It is very quiet and has fantastic sound quality.I record on the enternet and on cakewalk. The effects are great and usable.I have two other boards, but this is the best I have used. Great bang for the buck,I would recommend this board to anyone who want good quality at a good price.

I do professional narration. 30 yrs experience. Needed Compression, chnl EQ, and EFX for special voices and circumstances. It's really more oriented to sound reinforcement than recording. Super feedback detection and 7 band EQ to notch that out, in a reinforcement mode. The Chnl EQ & comp is just fine. About the only complaint I have is that I'm used to broadcast boards, and would like CR out, and switchable headphones, which it lacks. The X 1204 has that, though, without the 7 band EQ on the output. All in all, a super unit for theater work, or recording which doesn't require flexible output monitoring. ... More

This little mixer is great for and does almost everything needed for live applications! It has nice features and does everything a mixer should. but when I used this to record I found there was too much noise for me. Each time you add effects, turn on the parametric EQ, and even change the 3-band EQ it adds more and more noise to your recordings. When I recorded, i had to turn off or mute everything I could to try and get the noise down. I also found that in recordings it lacks a full sound and sounds almost far away in a sense. It also doesn't have MIDI inputs. Its built pretty well and the sliders knobs and connections are pretty solid. Another slight set back is that there isnt 1/4" main outputs. The phantom power also seams a little weak to me. Its a great small mixer for live applications but if you want quiet full recordings I wouldn't recommend this product. ... More

This mixer is great. Great sound, phantom power, awesome effects. I've been playing around with this thing for a couple weeks now and I'm very excited to learn more. Also, please note that this mixer only has 2 usb outputs (you can only record in stereo) but it's great for live and recording situations. I bought this mixer to record my drums and I was disappointed when I realized that it only had 2 channels through usb, but since everything sounds great with the onboard eq (once you find the right sound) I wouldn't mind recording through this thing. This is a must buy. ... More

If I could trust this board, it would get 5 stars. Everything you expect in a board this size at its price point. Even a good effects processor included. However... I was setting up for a wedding one day, and the board shut off out of nowhere. I was able to get it working when I realized it was due to a loose/faulty 120VAC input socket. I ordered a replacement socket from Newark/Element14 and soldered it in, thought I was good to go. Then, at another event, the board inexplicably shut off again! This time, no cord-wiggling could bring it back to life. I ended up punching it out of frustration... and it came back on. I very delicately used it for the rest of the night, crossing my fingers that it wouldn't let me down. Then, it went in my basement, never to be used again. If you value your reputation and work, look elsewhere. I've had other Behringer products let me down as well. ... More

This is a fantastic mixer for the price! Sound quality is superior... and it is loaded with extra flexibility that should accommodate most. It has been upgraded with a nice feature I want... the input signal LED's let you know which channels have signal present, and it let's you easily adjust input trim tabs. This mixer is loaded with features, and operation is simple and well laid out. The built-in USB sound card is a nice bonus for those who'd like to send a signal to a laptop for recording or streaming, etc. The effects are ok.. maybe I just need to find the right one. Each effect also has further adjustments. I also like the idea of the mic/line combo inputs with XLR amd 1/4 inch. The sliders feel nice. The unit is compact considering it's features. Longevity of these units really depends on use and abuse, but hard to go wrong for the price. ... More

We treat our equipment badly. Constantly setting up and tearing down. Berringer equipment is good solid equipment that does its job at a price that we can afford when the inevitable replacement has to take place. This particular board, we bought for a gig that involved flying and taking something smaller than our regular Beringer 24 channel mixer. We loved the sound. We need some simple reverb and we don't add or subtract on tone...but this board had a more "full", "warmer" sound than our other board. If Berringer made this board in a larger size I would buy it in a heartbeat. (Yes this one is a Beringer but we know its put together by some other, different, hard working, Asian firm) When we perform as a smaller line up I tell my road crew to use this board, rather than the bigger one. It sounds just a little better and does everything that we need. ... More

This is perfect for beginners and experts, recording or live. The one-knob compression is easy and effective, the volume is easy to control, the preamps are epic, and the EQ is useful. The only thing that I don't use too often is the FX, some of the effects sound kind of cool, but I never use it. Overall, this is a fantastic product, I recommend you buy it.

I got this used for $100 cheaper than brand new and it still looked and felt brand new. It’s also held up wonderfully the few times I’ve used it so far so I assume it’s very sturdy. The preamps have very low floor noise with my EV RE320 which is great while I’m doing voice over work and all the channels work great for any instrument I’ve tested them with. Overall a great machine with way more things I haven’t even gotten to use yet. Definitely worth the money new or used

For proffessional sound and good quality in your music. I haven't use the cd software that came with my mixer yet. But i am sure that it is mind blowen. So Thanks Guitarcenter and there will be more purchases from me in the future.

I use the Xenyx X1222usb mainly for live shows with 3 to 6 musicians. We had been using a couple old Mackie mixers for years and the outputs blew on both. I replaced them with this mixer and couldn't be happier. The sound quality improvement over the old Mackie's is amazing. It's so much easier for me to dial in a great mix now and the 24-bit effects are great. Also love the color coded FX and Monitor sections. Would have given it 5 stars if it allowed recording all channels individually. You can only record left and right mains.

This is a feature packed board for the money and seems to be of good build quality. I searched for awhile to find small board with the most features for the cost and this Behringer board was the best. I am happy with the features, ease of use, and build quality so far. The effects have some hiss/noise with first use, so I need to see if that is a problem with the board, or user error. Otherwise, the sound is clean, the phantom power on/off switch is a nice feature and the mixing capabilities are good for a board of this size and price. The compression on the first 4 channels is fantastic. ... More

We use this mixer for live sound with our band. the mic preamps are impressive! No noise at all. The EQ is very well thought out, the Plate reverb is very natural sounding, the Hall not so much. I love the compact size. Behringer doesn't make a bag for this so I bought a Mackie bag for the Profx12. Same size mixer.

I bought this to use as a backup (to a Behringer XR18) on gigs. It works, and it's inexpensive. But it feels cheap, and not made to last (but what do you expect for less than $200?) The effects sound pretty poor to me. As a backup mixer, it's fine, but I would not depend on this mixer for regular band gigs.

This is a discontinued model. I tried twice to download a manual. Apparently none are available for discontinued models. Instructions that came with the equipment are grossly inadeguate and in too many languages. Now the particulars: The voice cancellation is a joke, certainly the X1222 does not become like a karaoke machine; there is no "Control Room" feature hence no "Mix to Control Room" button; the effects (FX) are only so-so; There is no 1/4 inch main outputs - only XLR; Contact support is nearly impossible to access. Think carefully before buying at any price. I returned mine.

I bought this mixer to accommodate the 6 vocal mics my band requires. I put this mixer through a thorough test of all functions and everything worked and sounded great. I was impressed with how well the EQ sliders enhanced the overall sound of vocals and line-in/ pre-recorded music. On-board FXs sound smooth and can be manipulated to the nth degree. I am very happy with my purchase.
