I've been recording music for over 30 years, and know what it takes to achieve the best possible recording quality. All recording engineers go through a growing phase where, if they don't track with both compression & EQ going in, they will struggle while mixing. The ideal is to get everything as perfect as possible before the signal makes its way to the computer. This mixer allows you to do this, and does two additional things that none of the other USB mixers are providing: 1) 192Khz recording frequency, that's going to achieve higher quality recordings than ANY USB mixer recording at 44.1Khz. 2) Don't let the lack of knobs fool you, those little buttons labeled "compressor" and "EQ" have internal programmable parameters that include: 1) EQ - same multi band parametric EQ found in most DAW software based workstations; 2) Compressor - attack/release/threshold/gain - with a graph similar to the one that comes with Pro tools software. I am currently working with a vocalist to write, record, produce music. He lives about 30 miles from my location, and I want him to be able to track high quality vocals on his own (we can't always meet on a weekly basis). I have made this unit, along with the Shure beta 87a microphone, my recommended choice for him. Other USB recording devices have been considered, but none can come close to what this unit has to offer. ... More

I bought this to replace my Yamaha MG16CXU Mixer. This mixer is loaded with features. First and foremost are the balance XLR-outputs. Each mic has gain control, Mic 1,2 have compression and if you have high impedance equipment or just need to give a singer a little bit of a boost, each mic has a 26 dB pad. There two stereo line in connections with both 1/4" and RCA and a third line in that has a direct USB feed from a PC using the Yamaha Cubase driver at 24 bit/192kHz. The line in from the PC using the USB has very little latency and has zero ground loop interference. To top it all off, there is phantom power to the mics and 24 SPX effects that can be injected into each channel and the you can use the cubase AI code included to mix it all up yourself on the PC. The Yamaha MG10XU mixer is hands-down, the most convenient mixer I've used so far. First off, I was very pleased with the USB connection, it takes up less space and makes connecting to a computer much more convenient. The built-in effects are superb, and made mixing much more accessible. The size of the mixer was great, and taking it back and forth between places wasn't a problem whatsoever. I also praise the quality of each recording, fixing the levels and gains on each input is very easy. This mixer also made DI (Direct Input) recording very satisfying. I went from a Scarlett 2i2 interface to this model, and I'm glad I made this decision over others. Overall, there are many good things about this product that I love, and I would recommend this to any intermediate musician who records at home or in a smaller setting. ... More

I've purchased this unit few weeks ago. I've connected this mixer with a RolanPiano 5000s with MT32 sound processor, a pair of Behringer microphones XM8500 and a Casio CTK-593 keyboard, connected the main out to an RA-100 studio amplifier with a pair of Alesis I MKII loudspeakers. The quality of sound processed by this mixer is phenomenal and I was very impressed with its very low-noise ratio. With all potentiometers to maximum there is very little noise comming out from it. Recorded few songs and the quality of the sound is extraordinar. I recommend this to anyone who has a low budget, for the money you get an great mixer. ... More

First off let me start with my credentials. I've been running DJ equipment for large theatre companies and a few bands for 8 or so years now. I've worked with many technicians who date back to even working on Alice Cooper's crew, so I'm not green behind the ears when it comes to sound equipment. I also sing in my own band, and needed a quick fix for a concert we had coming up, and had no budget at the time for a fancy board. So I picked this little guy up. We hooked up my mic, the guitarist and bassist through the board, and plugged into pa speakers, and the results were awesome. Anyone who needs a quick fix or a light portable board, Definitely consider this Behringer board. ... More

This is a great little mixer. I use it to mix my band practice and run everyone through it into a headphone amp (using a v-drum set, Line 6 Flextone II, and bass direct into the board). Very user friendly and convenient with the onboard effects built in. The only minor thing missing is an on/off switch so you have to unplug to turn it off. Overall great value. I needed a smaller mixer for my Jazz Group. I have 3 mixers total at this point. Depends on the gig I do. I own a XENYX 2222 FX and recently purchased a XENYX 1202 FX. The 1202 FX doe's most of what my larger board can do. I really dig the FX channels and especially FX # 52. If you adjust this FX properly it is killer for vocals. Since I am the only vocalist I needed a small board. I use 2 JBL EON 15's and with this XENYX 1202 it creates that punch and presence I want. I would like to have a toogle to turn the mixer on and off instead of unplugging the unit in and out for power. I am going to add a power slider switch to the power cord soon. Also if only it had XLR's for the Speaker Main Out instead of the 1/4" access. None the less, everyone always checks out my gear to see what I have thats new. I love this little board. The XENYX 2222 FX I own is awesome for my bigger gigs and I also use a Yamaha 1000 Watt Mixer with passive speakers for other venues. So I ordered my mixer from G/C on a Monday and it was in my hands by that same week Friday morning with "FREE" shipping! This is a great opportunity to get the gear you want and also get free shipping. What a deal!!! As a Solo Vocalist, I mounted a small music stand made by Stagg that has a mount screw to attach to the Mic Stand. The Music Holder is about 10" wide X 12" Length. It's adjustable to any angle. After a few pieces of Velcro to the mixer and music holder I have this mixer at my finger tips while I am singing since it is clamped on to my stand. That way I can change FX and FX Channels while singing live. Thanks G/C and thanks Behringer! I look forward to always singing and performing live! ... More

Aside from the sticker on the box and the 15v DC across pins 1 and 2, you'd never see it (no phantom switch). Perfect for putting a little kick drum (etc.) into the bass amp. PROS: Low noise (turn all unused channels down), affordable, compact, works every time, durable chassis, lightweight, versatile, cute, survives the rigors of countless gigs. Cons: POWER LED TOO BRIGHT (window tint fixes this), no power switch, outboard transformer cords prone to fatigue, plastic shaft pots, screws tend to loosen under heavy use. As the Sound Engineer for our church for about 8 years I have experienced numerous different circumstances that have really challenged me and my abilities to keep the sound taylored properly for the most natural sound and all the while fighting feedback if it might suddenly come unexpectedly. Controlling the sound not only for the chior and the Pastor, but also the band and the various singers, and also different guest speakers and singers. And having various microphones being used and passed between both experienced and unexperienced speakers and singers, including children, and dealing with an ever varying size of attending members and visitors, the job of engineering the sound is usually never smooth sailing. Enter this Behringer XENYX X2222USB USB Mixer. This is really a great mixer, especially for a church on a budget. It has all the standard controls one would find on a mixer and even has a bunch of built in effects to make even an amateur singer really sound great. Feedback is easily tweeked out. And I love that each input has PFL so I can isolate each individual microphone and discreetly listen to just that one singer/instrument by itself and adust their sound as needed. The mixer is extremely quiet and has very minimal line noise and really seems to be built quite sturdy. This is our first Behringer mixer and my first experience with Behringer, and I am very impressed and it has been a pleasure to use this mixer. I highly recommend this mixer without hesitation. ... I own a lot of high dollar gear and this is my first Behringer piece. I needed a mixer for my vintage synth sound module rack and I gave this one a try. I've been very pleased and I've been using it for quite some time. It's quiet and the effects are surprisingly good. BUT HERE"S THE REAL DEAL! I just bought a brand new high dollar PC laptop with W7 64 bit and everything came to screeching halt. (No it wasn't a mac. Sorry.) Anyhow, I'm experiencing what everyone else is with this new OS. Most or all of your gear, even with their so called W7 driver, doesn't work without issues. So I though, Hey! That new mixer has a USB Port so I plugged it in to see what would happen. W7 found it and installed a CODEX Driver. I downloaded ASIO4ALL to use instead an it works like a charm. No dropouts, pops, clicks, or noise! AMAZING! I tried it with Reason 4, Cubase 5, FL Studio 9, and Live 8 and it all works. Granted you can only record in two channel stereo, but if you hit the solo button you can isolate a track or you can adjust all of your channel levels and record the entire band at one time. This gem works as a great recording audio interface. I love this mixer and I'm going to buy another one just to prove it. ... More

Okay so to set the tone here I am pretty new to making/recording music. I've been pretty serious about playing the guitar for a little over a year now having toyed with it in the past. I have a passion for singing as well and am taking lessons for both. So obviously along the way I needed to invest in some equipment to record and measure my progress. Plus, well, it's just cool stuff. I purchase a Presonus Audio box USB mixer which worked well and came with some decent software. Around the same time a friend of mine gave me an older model Behringer powered mixer similar to this one, but no USB, to try out. I got hooked. So I sold the Presonus and purchased this unit which gives me the inputs I need (the one I borrowed had twice the number) and USB connection for my laptop. I cannot be more pleased. It's a solid well-built unit. All the controls, knobs and sliders are high quality with a good solid feel. The unit is very easy to use. Which is good because the included documentation is weak at beast. But you can download a much better manual from the Behringer web site. Why itۡs not included with the unit is beyond me. I have a set of KRK Rokit Powered monitors and Shure Beta 58A mic that complete my setup. All the components work well together. I did not scrimp on the cables either and get no noticeable noise or buzzing which I have read about with other equipment. I did a lot of research on all of the components and made some mistakes along the way buying cheaper stuff, so one recommendation I can make for sure it make sure what you buy is meant to work together. It can be confusing for a rookie and even having friends who know this stuff did not help too much. They all want to spend a lot more. This unit does the job for a very reasonable price. Only knock I have is the software simply put....sucks. Period. The software that came with the Presonus was much better. I gave up on the included software pretty quick and am researching some options. I did not count on it though so I am not down grading the unit because of the bad software. Overall money well spent. I would not hesitate to buy another Behringer product. ... More

I have owned several mixers, all had there good points and bad. I have never owned a Behringer Mixer before until this one. I read alot of reviews and they are quite mixed ! Either its loved or hated and you get a lemon or a gem, even still I could not help myself from buying this, I had to have it! It looked great, its small footprint was a perfect fit for my rack, and it has 10 XLR's ! Insrets on each chanel, all the aux sends you want, direct outs of each chanel, a sweepable mid range, one knob compression ( Similar to thr Yamaha MG series, which I own the 166cx) Anyway the price and the features made it a great buy so I went ahead and grabed to use with my band for rehearsal. My verdict after putting though the paces? Not one problem, nothing, everything works perfect, in fact the yamaha mg166cx has now stayed home while we gigged with this because we liked it so much! Its not boutique mixer but this thing can hold its own! The FXs are not leixcon quality but they are more than suitable for Live use in the small to medium venues we play, All the drums are in here, three vocal mics, guitar, bass etc..No issues and I cant complain! I manage my system with the DBX Driverack PA+ And I am sure this is a huge difference in the way the board sounds etc, however it does its job nicely as a great utility mixer and small band bar type stuff, I highly recomend you put aside the bad reviews and give it a chance for yourself ! You can always return it, hopefully you get a gem and not a lemon! for my money this was a fantastic buy! As I said I have put this mixer though the paces on the road and off for 6 months now, bouncing around the back of my PU truck , cold, heat outside etc...No issues! As for the mic pre's there fine, when people complain about "noise" etc, I think they are pushing there faders and gain controls to far, unity is there for a reason, dont go beyond it, if you need more then you obviously are underpowered and should look into a new amp before blaming the board...Buy this mixer, do a good gain structure on your components and dont overdrive it and you will be fine! This is a great little Mixer, kudo's to Behringer for cramming in some un real features for such a very low price! ... More

Bought this mixer about a year ago. Mounted it in our rack and gig with it almost every weekend. I am very happy with this mixer and if needed to replace it I would certainly buy another.
