If you're in the market for a new pair of headphones, how many reviews are you going to read before you buy these? Like several other reviewers, I'm an audiophile, too. I have the expensive equipment and know all the technical language and buzz words. So, I will spare everyone and just say these headphones sound amazing and at their price point they are in a class of their own. In fact, they can stand up to headphones costing hundreds more. The addition of free expedited shipping from B&H made my purchase a no brainer. Just buy them.

These are great Head Phones. They have the best noise cancellation function I've experienced so far. They are well built and sturdy. They sound very clear and bass response is very good. Frequency response is excellent and distortion is not existent. Not a whole lot of power is needed to drive them either. Sounds great on smart phones and tablets. The included cables are sufficiently long and an adapter is also included for plugging into a receiver. Although these phones could be a bit tight on someone with a large fit, I definitely recommend the ATH-M50x as a very good pair of head phones. ... More

I bought these for my school and liked them so much I bought a pair for myself. Their response is very even, giving a true representation of the audio across the entire spectrum.

These are all around good headphones. They don't compare to some of the higher end reference cans but they sound good and have pretty decent response scrips the whole range. I keep a pair on my desk when I'm mixing just because it's a pretty accurate representation of what people will be listening with. As far as a casual listener goes they're great. Especially with the locking cable now. I also appreciate the fact they send three cable options with them so you can pick your desired length. This is my second pair and I really love them.

This is the second pair of these that I have owned. The first ones lasted me about 5 years of brutal wear and tear. These new ones have been redesigned and I love the changes. Better build quality, better sound quality, and much better materials. The old version had an issue with the fabric on the top peeling up and shedding so every time I used them I would end up with little black plastic pieces in my hair. I also love that you can disconnect the cable from the headphones if needed. I would imagine if there were ever to be an issue with the cable itself you could just replace it. ... More

I purchased these headphones because my Dre Beats time was up and needed to upgrade. I mix my music at night mostly due to how busy I am and I can't wake up the house. First thing I noticed was comfort on my head and snug around ears. Next was the sound quality of my music which put me in complete edit mode because I could see the music differently if that makes sense. Now I can edit my levels and layer my tracks more efficiently. I'm very impressed with the quality for the price and comfort.

Since I couldn't try them on before buying them, I was a bit worried because some people said they didn't fit well. I have a big head and they fit great. Probably all the small heads complaining. The sound is incredible and you will hear things in songs that you never heard on subpar headphones. I have the Bose Noise Canelling headphones, which are great, but I mostly use those for the airplane. These I use these for video editing and for listening to music.I got them on sale as well, for $ bucks off on B&H, so even better.

For an inexpensive closed back headphone this can't be beat. I use it when my normal selection of open cans will disturb the rest of the house. They need the aftermarket lamb skin pads, I am sure that will improve both comfort and sound over the vinly pads. Really like the modular cables it comes supplied with too.

So Ive had this pair of M50x now for about a week and I am loving everything about them. The sound is amazing and glad I finally was able to buy them after searching through for a pair and this one stood out the most from the rest. They feel great and comfy for me when I wear them even for long time gaming. I know for some this headset might not feel too great but for me they are great. Love how they look and feel very well made. I like how the headphones have a lock on feature that way they cant accidentally get unplugged if you pull the cord. ... More

I use it for both keyboard piano practice and connected to my TV amplifier to watch movie, so the others in the family not to be disturbed. Sound quality is exceedingly clear and give off the dimensional effect. Even it is not surround sound like my speaker set that connected to the amplifier but it is close enough. Only thing I wish it had is the volume adjustment on the head set. I get by with the remote control of my amplifier.

I watch a lot of gaming streams on Twitch and quite a few of the streamers use these and swear by them. As a gamer, movie watcher and music lover I was interested in something I could use on my computer that wasn't too much geared towards one area over the other. I found these to be the perfect middle ground for all my interests. I have another set by a different company for times when I need a microphone since these do not have one.

after reading reviews and choosing a few models, I went to the store yesterday and tried some out. The reviews are right; these are great and comfortable headphones. Even though the matte gray weren't on display, I shelled out a few extra bucks for them. Really nice and great sound. I'm glad for all the reviews and recommendations.

I purchased these headphones on the advice of my son ,who's been using them for quite a while. He listens to quite lot of music due to his job as a researcher and writer for Rolling Stone mag..I was looking for a reasonably priced pair of headphones that covered the entire ear and of course excellent sound quality. I have no complaints at all ,just positive things to say abut these headphones.. I would recommend them to anyone.

Having used studio grade monitors, I was very pleased with the M50X as a high end audio device, you can hear the chimes and piccolos quite well, but it lost a little at the high mid range and could use a bit more wearer comfort, but for an hour or two its is fine. Typical of a technical company, its likely they did not actually use the product beyond testing for practical use. If so these attributes could have been designed in. For the non-studio audio listener, just get them and enjoy them.

I love my Audio-Tech Headphones! I am just learning to play electric guitar and the rest of my household wasn't pleased to have to listen to me! So the solution was headphones. I checked these out on line and have loved them! They are comfortable to wear and the sound is great! They are well made, sould last a lifetime and are worth every penny! I'm sure that I will enjoy them even more as I learn to play better! I highly recommend them!

I've owned many pairs of headphones, a few mid-to-high quality pairs for professional work on audio fingerprinting and music summarization, and also for my own music production hobby, and of course just for personal listening. I've never owned really high end headphones, so there are likely better ones out there, but these are the best sounding ones I've encountered so far. The sound is extremely clean and I notice things in the music I had not noticed before. I also like the lock mechanism that keeps the cord attached. You get three cords for various occasions (it's nice to have a short cord when you need one). I really like these headphones. ... More

I use these when practicing on my Roland TD-15k drumset. Been drumming for 10+ years. My first pair in white lasted for about 5 years before I lost them in a move. Great value and quality for the price. Cheaper headphones just don't cut it for me when monitoring electric drums (or any live audio). You won't be disappointed. Yes the material on the headband starts to wear after a while but it doesn't change the sound so not a deal breaker at all. Also great for monitoring vocals and acoustic guitar.

I previously purchased these headphones years ago for professional video/audio editing and absolutely loved them. Soft eat muffs, perfect coord length, durable, sturdy, and overall solid. When they finally broke (after years of use while filming in the rain, snow, and on the ocean) I decided to buy the same pair which came with an extra cord. I swapped the old cord from my broken pair with the bonus cord that came with it and it turns out the old pair still function and just needed a new cord! Now I have two great headphones. Thank you!

I use these headphones through a small amplifier to listen to my television set. Their sound is superb and the various plugin wires allows me to use them for other aural uses. They are constructed very solidly, yet the are very comfortable. I bought leather ear pieces, too, but I haven't used them yet (if I ever do).

Searched and reserached for a new pair of headphones to use at home/on the go/etc. After much research and a few trial runs, decided on the ATH-M50x. Crisp and clear sound for all frequencies, great isolation for surround applications, comfortable, and the multiple cords are a bonus. Are they the best out there? No. Do the compete with many at higher cost levels- YES. If you are looking for a higher end headphone with clear sound, give these a go for sure!
