This is a great unit. I pulled it out of the box and had it working with garageband in a few minutes. Having power provided by the USB connection is a great feature. I am using the unit to record my bluegrass band. Since we use a single mic setup I may even be able to use it for live sound.

I do pro recording, and was looking for a USB interface that had more then one mic input, and this is so much more then I expected!!! I can record 2 mics simultaneously for vocals, and or 1 vocal, and mic a guitar or keyboard at the same time. It is perfect for what I do!!!

I was looking for something to make decent recordings with minimal space, and this fits the bill perfectly. Operation was just plug-and-play for me ... Windows XP recognized the device and it just worked. Very nice sound quality, and solid construction. The only downside I've found is that the monitor level knobs on the back are a little hard to get at, but that's part of the compact size.

I was looking for a pre that is battery powered for portability, lightweight, and 48V. This is the one I went for, and in my humble opinion, the best value for the buck! Using a microphone notoriously quiet, (Nak CM-300's), I needed something to boost and be quiet. This is the unit!

This USB pre is a great addition for field recording, etc. with a laptop. Plugged it in and the software was immediately recognized with ability to record directly to Soundforge. Excellent.

I've purchased a couple dozen over the past few years to help others record audio from their home office. Very simple to install, great sound and sturdy quality. Never had an issue with any of the units.

I needed an audio interface with phantom power that was portable. I was sold on the USB Dual Pre because it has everything that I needed in a small, yet sturdy case.

ALL inputs are mixed together when you record from the USB connection. I bought this to record teleconference calls using an Innkeeper telephone device that iputs the signal coming in through the phone as one channel and I speak into a cartoid mic that feeds out of this interface back into the Innkeeper and into the phone. Our Edirol UA25 developed a problem and this was supposed to do the same thing, but it doesn't. The resulting recording using this device has both signals on both sides of the stereo recording, introducing the telephone buzz into the studio quality mic recording and preventing the separate editing of the mic and phone channels of the recording. In this age of electronics it is inconceivable that this device cannot keep the two input signals separate. Very disappointed. ... More

I really like this item, especially since my application for it is field and location recording and processing. Very portable and packs a bevy of features in a small case. Would like to have a firewire connection, but the USB works quite well.

I bought this as an alternative to the Juicedlink preamp which costs 5 times as much and sounds the same. Highly recommended for student videomakers.

It works very well. No software required, just plug it in and select it as your audio input. Use it with garage band to record two lines at once. Sounds great. One of the cheapest and simplest interface solutions i've come across too, not to mention the pre-ampage. But it breddah.

I don't know if this is dead on arrival, but this unit is very noisy. Gain set to zero, connected to computer with USB cable, no extra power and still noisy. Connect / disconnect mic, still noisy. Phantom power off, still noisy. I don't know what is wrong with it. Besides, this unit is housed in a really small box, all the dials and labels cramped in together.

If you can live with two channels of 16 bit audio, (and honestly, most of us can) this is a great little interface. Everything you really need and nothing you don't to do high quality home recording. Also plug and play with Linux.

I use the dual preamp for audio with dslr video. it works but it's the audio has a fair amount of noise. But for the price it's hard to beat.

I bought the USB Dual Pre - USB 1.1 based on positive reviews and recommendations for use with a Panasonic GH2 DSLR. After several tests and one shoot, I found the audio unacceptably noisy. The noise could be cleaned up in post, but that added more work and who wants to deal with that. This devise is nice for USB to computer, but not ideal for audio to DSLR....
