For the price, this is a fantastic device. I can't hear any noise through my studio monitor headphones until i ramp up the gain so high it would distort anyway if I tried to play anything through it. So, essentially a great buy. It interfaces well with my 2007 Macbook Pro with MAC OSX 10.6. Instrument plugins in the same position as the xlr inputs make it compact.

Well designed, small and compact, has easy-to-use controls and multiple types of inputs and outputs. I used it to connect a microphone and a stenomask (essentially a microphone with muffling to limit audible sound outside the mask) to a PC running recording software. Worked great and, for a person not that familiar with audio, very easy to understand and set up.

This works with DAW on the ipad, allowing 2 channels, either as 2 x mono channels, or 1 stereo channel. It's silent and runs on a 9 volt battery, great for quality recording in the field. I think the output to headphones (used when multitrack layering) is a little weak, but at least that reduces the spill over to the recording microphone. B&H have the best price I could find.

How you use the product---I bought this preamp to make some enviromental recordings with a pair of C3000B's and a laptop. Things that are great about it---It is totally transparent! (sound-wise) Things that aren't so great about it---There's a lot of functionality in a little real estate, so one must be carefull with the knobs and buttons...

Has separate audio lines, xlr and trs, gain knobs are smooth and linear. 9v battery lasts forever, going on 12 hours straight of dual powered mics. No line level noise until max gain and output max. using this for remote recording with zoom h1. Havn't tested usb interface but that's not what I bought it for. only problem is the battery housing poorly designed, I took the door off and used cardboard to wedge battery in place.

I am using this as an interface between a sound console and a computer to record. This has stopped all of the hum and buzz that I have had with other USB connections. I have the ability to control sound level as well without having to interrupt the audio technician. Great solution and very resonably priced.

Using this to do simple live music recordings with condenser mics, which is why I needed something that had Phantom Power. This was the least expensive product I could find that would meet my needs (USB audio interface with XLR input and phantom power), and on top of that it was well reviewed! The only reason I'm leaving off a star is because I wish it had RCA outputs and not just 1/4. Also, some people think it's a bit cramped due to it's small size and large amount of plugs and buttons on the back, but it's really not that bad. Totally functional. Highly recommended! ... More

I bought this Pre in order to test the acoustic properties of my listening room. I was very pleased to discover that it was recognized as a new input device by both Mac and Windows without installing any driver. The unit can be powered via USB, a (not included) Power adapter or a battery!

This is some of the best money I have spent. I had the Zoom h4n for my solution to get audio with my 60D. Not very elegant and time consuming to sync up. This unit is small, built well and sounds great. I don't expect the price to stay this low for long, it is unbelievable the quality of the unit and compactness.

This little thing is a beast! If only they made a 6-channel version, but i'm not sure if that could run just off a USB. There are many ways to use this, i'm using it on a laptop with Ableton and it's got no latency or noise! Perfect for some demos I want to record!

I bought this to use as a preamp with my Zoom H1 and Canon Rebel T2i. I have a shotgun mic which uses phantom power, and I needed XLR inputs. I also wanted something small and inexpensive. This unit way surpassed my expectation. I used to own ART products some twenty years ago so I know I can expect good quality. This unit is very quite; Solidly built; Versatile; and it looks good! I wish I could give it more stars! Oh, did I mention the very low price, ... from B&H?

I use this to provide an XLR and 1/4 input for my Canon 60D. This allows me to turn the camera's manual volume all the way down and the gain on the preamp all the way up and eliminate the normal hiss sound that comes from the camera's preamp. Runs on a 9V battery, and doesn't require much power so it lasts a long time. I only wish it had a tripod mount at the bottom.

I use this with my Canon Rebel T2i running MagicLanter for video recording. It serves as a XLR adapter with phantom power, and gives me additional control over the audio levels. It's very quite and well built. I will buy another one since it's also a great computer audio interface.

I use the interface for a small laptop recording package. It seems to be well made. It's only USB 1, but it works fine. It's only 16 bit so you can only record at CD quality. Big improvement over my computer sound card.It doesn't use ASIO so I haven't figured out how to monitor through the preamp and record soft synths --too much latency. This is probably a user error. For $ the thing is a steal

Used with PT10 on a PC until I can decide on a Firewire interface w/MIDI for a more permanent setup. This unit actually works on my netbook! How can anyone make money at this price? Its sounds very good to me. I'm keeping it - even after the big box gets purchased.

I do pro recording, and was looking for a USB interface that had more then one mic input, and this is so much more then I expected!!! I can record 2 mics simultaneously for vocals, and or 1 vocal, and mic a guitar or keyboard at the same time. It is perfect for what I do!!!
