Sony Cybershot W830 20MP 8x Zoom Compact Digital Camera
Christmas present for 6 year old
My 6 year old daughter wanted a camera for Christmas so we decided to look into getting her a proper compact camera. This is a great ‘starter’ camera. Very easy to use, point and click, easy to access and view pictures & easy to delete any unwanted snaps. The fact it comes in so many different colours was also a plus!! The picture quality is not wonderful but as far as my daughter is concerned the snaps are fantastic!! It is a great wee camera to get her started and interested in photography.

Nice
I bought this to temporarily replace my Xperia z3 whilst it was having it's camera lens replaced,the cybershot is a great feature packed camera,I would have preferred more manual controls but what it gave was sufficient,I'm still yet to get full focus across the whole picture but the out of focus parts are hardly noticeable,when I got my phone back I did actually notice the cybershot camera was nowhere near as good as the Xperia z3 camera,all in all though,a great little camera,I would recommend

Great Little Camera
I can't believe how tiny this camera actually is, it's literally about half the size of my previous 1 but I have to say,having just spent 2 weeks on hols putting it through its paces I absolutely love it.It's so easy to use & it pretty much does everything for you.Panoramic mode is fab.My only grumble is the on/off button is too flush, & can be pretty tricky to hit the right spot to turn on if you're not looking at it, hence 4 stars, but other than that I love it & would definitely recommend it!

This product is incredible value for money
In its price range, this product is a winner. It is remarkably easy to use all its many features. It easily slips into the pocket or purse, can be switched on ready by the press of a button and takes sharp, coloured shots with its point and shoot facility. The review of your photos is easy and each can be magnified to highlight any part of the shot with amazing detail. It comes with an additional cine action, with sound and you can form your own landscape views. For its price, an overall winner!

It's purple. It's a camera.
That's the main part of it. It also has a button on the top you can push to turn it off and on (it's quite a small button). It has a bigger button on the top you can push to take a photo, or (go wild) a video. Once you've pressed the button, there's a small delay before the photo gets taken, just enough to make a smile turn from authentic to its frozen equivalent, or for a small child or an animal to turn into a blur of hair (child) or fur (animal). Either way, you've missed the moment forever.

Great Value
Wanted a small easy to carry camera. Thought would take a risk with it. Although some of the fake chrome trim on the case is a bit sketchy i forgive it for the Zeiss lens and the otherwise good build quality. It's like an old Toyota. The trim is rattly on a tank like build. Great pics and near fully programmable. Zoom is excellent. Nearly competes with a much more expensive older Olympus i have that shoots raw mode. Overall very impressive, small and very capable even if a bit rattly in places.

good small camera
I normally carry a pair of Nikon DSLR cameras and a set of lenses. This little camera was purchased as a snapshot camera to fit in my pocket for the occasions when I do not have my big cameras with me. It is a very simple camera with no complex settings - just point and click. I like it and it is fit for function. Excellent outdoors, Ok with flash, at 20 megapixels it produces usable general images that I can adapt for publication and internet use. I am very satisfied with this little camera.

Neat compact camera
I am pleased with the auto quality of the photos in particular the face recognition & zoom element which give HD effect & even splashes of rain look good. The video has clarity also but annoyingly you cannot mute so there is constant wind-like noise on playback, but you can of course mute when using video players. Minimal instruction sheet & there is no broader download manual online or direct from Sony so if you wanted to apply your own specs you would need to be knowledgeable in this area.

A nice little camera
A very neat and easy to use point and shoot compact camera. Results so far have been good. A bit slow to process the image between taking the shot and it appearing on the screen. Camera was a little smaller than I had expected but still a good size to easily hold and fits nicely in a pocket. The on/off button is very small and flush with the body of the camera. The Play memories software is brilliant - even picks up images on my laptop the other picture editing programmes did not find.

good little camera
I needed a decent camera for my travels, rather than my phone camera which is terrible so I looked for a cheap compact camera. This Sony seemed the best (and I liked the colour). I like that you can take video with it, although only in 720p. PIcture quality is ok, the zoom is good. Pictures in the dark look good as well. The casing is plastic so a bit flimsy but it's ok. You only get the camera and charger. There is no memory card (it takes standard SD cards). The LCD screen is acceptable.

Fantastic little camera
I bought his fantastic little camera for a week of walking in the isle of skye. I charged it on the day I got it and it held a charge for the entire week. As you can imagine I spent a lot of time while away walking up hills and cliff tops so this little camera was perfect to capture the views. It was quick and easy to set up and the photo quality was amazing. It was so light it felt as though I wasn't carrying a camera at all. I look forward to taking it with me on my future adventures.

A Good Buy
Was delighted with this camera. I didn't want much from my camera so it was a good buy for me. I just wanted to be able to take pictures and videos in decent quality have the function to zoom in and out and to be light weight and easy buttons to use - This camera delivered on all aspects :) (Although this was not the colour I got as my reserved item did not come in before we left on holiday so opted to get the silver one from another local Argos shop - which was not a major issue :))

Fantastic for kids!
Bought this for my little cousin for her 4th birthday. This camera is perfect for little hands and is a bit more grown up than all the kids cameras on the market which are very basic. The photo quality is great, the camera is easy to use and looks fantastic. The price is amazing for such a great camera. I'd recommend it to anyone but especially those with children who are looking for a camera. As I've said, its perfect for kids and is a camera the kids can grow with. Great product!

Wonderful and huge performance in a small package
Was sceptical after removing the Cybershot from its package, and was pleasantly surprised by its simplicity and quality of output. I have always lived with a view that for cameras, the bigger they come, the better they are. This little buddy proved me wrong. I felt proud in owning it after the first function I covered with the Cybershot. It delivered professional snaps and clips.. I can say without any equivocation that I am a very proud, pleased and satisfied owner of the Cybershot.

Small and no as seems
Camera is it small so easy to carry, it does have some good features, recognising smiles the normal things.. But unfortunately the quality of the pictures at night especially are not good at all, I wouldn't recommend this camera. You can only plug it into a computer or tablet to view your photos in larger format so you can't put it into your smart telly, if you can I haven't found the way to do it. Can't find a case to fit it as it's so small. Phone was used more! Defeats the object

A little too compact for an octogenarian!
Failed to set the camera up after many hours but later learned that an essential action in the set-up procedure leaflet, was missing. Daughter came to the rescue and set it up in an instant! The instruction read, after selecting LANGUAGE, the time, date and day should appear and be settable after pressing the OK button but that didn't work. An essential statement in the set-up procedure is missing! The camera is too small for ageing persons with loss of dexterity in the fingers!

Super little camera
I bought this camera to replace another - of a good make - which I had found very disappointing. This little Sony is so far living up to my expectations. It has no issues with focusing (which my previous model did), indoor shots are nice and bright and true to colour, not dull and disappointing. The video mode is smooth and easy to use, as is the panorama function. It takes slightly longer to write to the SD card but that's not a problem for me. I am very happy with this camera.

Fantastic compact camera at an excellent price
Small and powerful with a good battery life that takes videos and good quality stills. It's the size of a credit card and about 1.5cm thick (before the lens extends). I bought a Sandisk 16GB Extreme SDHC UHS-I card (which was on offer at Argos with the purchase at that time) to boost memory. So impressed by this camera on all levels. Using it is a breeze and it fires-up in no time. Point and shoot or select complex stuff like ISO settings and exposure compensation. I love it.

Camera cyber shot
Yes great little camera had one before, and loved it , nice compact some others looked at just too big, this is perfect for your handbag , nice girly colour! Havnt really Sussed all features , but taken some pics in new York on holiday and pleased with result good quality , easy to use , I would highly recommend this camera , easy to use I didn't realise you charged it differently with old one take battery out, but that was only difference , nice neat compact little camera

Good value pocket camera
It is going to take me some time to get used to such a tiny lightweight camera. It feels inferior because of it's lightness but this shouldn't put you off. It's simple to use for basics but also includes useful features for the more adventurous. The quality of the photos on the screen is not great and very small because of the size of camera, but once downloaded to another device for viewing, the images are excellent. For under £100 I think this is a great little camera.

Good for what you pay.
Obviously not a camera for a professional photographer but for a better camera than a phone that you don't want to fork out hundreds and hundreds for its spot on. One of the best I found in this kind of range. The screen let's it down a bit as your photos don't look that great on it but as soon as you put then on a laptop or tablet screen you can see the better quality. Also takes a while to take a photo and get ready to take another. The burst mode is not as expected.

perfect little companion
Bought this as a way of keeping memory free on my sony xperia z1 and absolutely love this wee gadget, takes beautiful photos and just as lovely videos. Battery life lasts long and with a 64gb memory card, it will be hard to fill it to capacity in one holiday. No problems with the pictures being pixelated when get them printed like the polaroid camera I used to have. Can't fault this, it really is a lovely wee camera, worth more than what it costs in my opinion :-)

Nice compact camera
It feet's perfectly in any pocket, so, very easy to travel with it. The construction is good for this range of price. The features included are also good. It can take some time to focus if you chose Auto mode, which make it perfect for almost standing still photos, like landscapes. If you want to take photos while driving, then you must change the mode. taking pictures during night, can be challenging but the photo quality decreases. Excellent camera for its price.

Good little camera
Was a lot smaller than I expected. also didn't have a memory card which had to be purchased as a separate item ! but this aside it is a joy to use and fits easily into a pocket to carry around.Uploading to the internet and online photo files was a doddle. this was bought as a replacement for a much more expensive camera which had given up the ghost and to be honest the picture quality isn't quite as good but for around a third of the price its good enough for me.
