Hitachi 32 Inch Smart HD Ready TV / DVD Combi
TV stand not child friendly
Hitachi 32” smartTv light & compact nothing special to look at but picture quality is good, connectivity mostly straight forward however I can’t connect via Bluetooth to Bose Mini speaker, it wouldn’t recognise it as a device. I’ve tried all the Hitachi & Bose online Support suggestions, even WiFi dongle & no luck. Connected it via cables to my Technics mini hifi & surround sound. Not impressed with stand as TV can tip forward easily, has extra width extending behind but not enough at front.

Hitachi 32” Smart TV
This TV is perfect for my bedroom with the use of headphones, the sound without headphones is a little tinny, this doesn’t affect my use. It was very easy to set up, connected quickly to the internet via Wi-Fi & I set up all my catch up apps very easily. The picture is good. I can’t find any faults with this TV other than perhaps using a Sound Bar if it wasn’t being used with headphones, it is very loud through headphones which I need as I am quite deaf. Amazon Prime appears to work also.

No complaints about getting this smart tv
I think this smart 32” tv is well worth getting. I easily got the Wi-fi working and Ethernet access to allow reliable access to internet on the TV. My Sky plus works perfectly well apart from not syching to the TV volume control. But there is advertised Hitachi smart TV app to get round the volume issue which works very well. The inbuilt DVD player seems to work as expected. The max volume isn’t excessively loud but Argos make a point of advertising relating Bluetooth connecting soundbar

Good TV, ppor stand and operating instructions
This Hitachi TV is reasonable value and incluses a built in DVD drive. However, the TV may have been designed by an engineer but the stand was done by an apprentice. The instructions were on a font so small that this is would put me off buying another Hitachi product as it is helpful to be able to review facilities. The good aspect is that the TV virtually installs itself and within a few minutes everything is working. Such a shame that Hitachi would "spoil the ship for a hap'orth of tar"

Good combo
Was given poor advice by Argos when buying as this doesn't record any programs via the usb connection (you need to have looked at the diagram of the remote control to realise this as though it has a record option this is marked as not working in this model) - that aside not a bad TV, sound is OK (moved from an old analogue TV with a massive back and big speakers so I believe all flat screen TVs have smaller speakers and less depth to their sound) - SMART functions good and easy to set up

My new tv
lovely TV first purchase of a tv in 20 years. things have changed this TV is slim and streamlined, enhancing my kitchen with good looks and sound quality! thoroughly recommend at such a reasonable price! The staff at Argos were also really amazing as I was insisting on an inbuilt DVD player which it has ! Thank you !! Now for the negatives sadly the purchaser who is past retirement age is not so slim and streamlined or has the sound quality or control of this fabulous TV- set up so easy

TV xceeded my expectations.
I was somewhat skeptical before buying this TV / DVD combo because Hitachi lends its name to a product made by a different company in a different country (Turkey) as far as I’m aware. However, the price was good, and I wanted a combi device and this was the screen size I required. It has exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is excellent, the sound over my loudspeakers, too. The ease of set-up was brilliant - up and running within 20 mins. I can definitely recommend this TV.

Nice TV
Bought for a bedroom. Nice looking and responsive. It's actually very hard to find a 32 inch smart tv WITH a dvd player. Debated at one point whether to just buy a dvd player separately but didn't want that cluttered look in a relatively small bedroom.. Have to say to get all of this, I had to pay a bit more than I really wanted to, but as it will be used on a daily basis I concluded the benefits of this tv would outweigh the higher cost. All in all, a nice tv packed with features.

Nice to have a smart-TV which also shows DVDs
We wanted a TV/DVD combi to replace our previous one. This has the advantage of also being a smart-TV, although my partner on his own would have struggled to connect with wi-fi and the internet as he's not particularly computer literate. One issue we have found is that it won't let us choose which transmitter - we're not sure that it has tuned to the nearest transmitter as the reception for Dave isn't very good when it's windy, and we didn't have that issue with the previous TV

Easy Set up TV
This is the first time I have had a TV where I didn't have to fiddle around to set it up. It was nice to have an integrated Freeview facility plus a built in DVD player, so my external Freeview box and DVD player can be got rid of. I connected my Freesat box to the TV using a Scart connection kit as the TV itself does't have a SCART socket It was quite easy to set up BBC Iplayer, ITV Hub and other catchup services on the TV using the inbuilt Wifi to connect to me router.

Argos let me down
I chose this telly because it had a built in DVD and smart functionality. The problem is that the wireless receiver is so weak the telly won't operate in a normal house hold. It would not find my wifi router so we could not use the smart features. Previously i have been using an Amazon Fire Stick. I can tell you that the Fire Stick which was plugged into this telly picked up a strong signal from my wifi router so, it's not a wifi or router problem, it's a telly problem..

Great to have integral dvd player
Very simple to set up and the integral DVD player automatically plays when disc is loaded. Good picture and sound is ok if not the best. We run it through an old NAD amp and speakers via the headphone socket when listening to concerts etc. and that gives a good result. Most important for us is that it works really well with a simple internal aerial in this area where reception is very poor. No flickering or picture break-up...great! Very happy with the purchase so far.

Basic Smart tv
This tv is a Very basic Smart TV you still need a separete Amazon fire stick or Nowtv box if you like those apps. It does however come preloaded with Netflix, YouTube and the free catchup apps for the 5 main uk channels but that’s it!! All other apps are useless if i’d Realised this before buying i’d Wouldn’t have bought it. The DVD player is good but as another reviewer has said it can be noisy so you need to turn the sound up which is not ideal in a bedroom.

Good-ish TV
The TV is overall compact and light given the screen size. The picture seems bright and clear. The sound is weak and "tinny" - in due course I may buy a soundbar for it. There is a bit of a niggle in that it doesn't auto-adjust for picture aspect ratio (this may be a specific problem for Virgin TV customers, or more general, I don't know) and manually adjusting it is quite deep in the settings menu structure. Otherwise, I would describe it as a generally OK purchase.

Tv plus DvD
This combi unit is okay. You have to turn up the volume button quite high before you can hear what’s been said. I have sky and can’t use the controls to turn up the volume and switch on and off. Having phoned both Hitachi and Sky I’m having to use two control units. It’s not my main tv so that’s why I’ve said it’s okay. Not used the dvd yet so can’t comment, watch this space. Would I recommend NO I would advise looking at different TVs.

Easy to set up
Bought for bedroom. Straightforward setting up channels using remote. Simple to attach the tv base. Great picture and sound. My top bonus for the tv is the tv guide nice and large print to read white text with red background (not tiny) The remote control buttons are nice to press and are clearly marked and positioned. Internet setup was straightforward no problem. All display of info on tv is nice and clear Hitachi done well. Very pleased overall.

Great wee tv.
Set aside time to set up the integrated channels and it’s worth it. Don’t rush it or try to do it when you’re pushed for time as that’ll cause frustration. I don’t have an aerial so bought an indoor one and it’s very effective. This allows you all basic channels plus all that are integrated. The tv is smaller than the basic tv I had previously but picture quality is so good that this size of tv works really well.

Good picture, bad sound
Overall not a bad TV for the price, easy to set up and the picture is good. However the sound is not loud enough even at top volume, especially with DVDs. The programme guide is an awful red colour with white writing making it difficult to read. The built in DVD works well but is very basic, just a simple fast forward, cant fast forward by frame. Probably ok as a second TV for bedroom etc but wouldnt buy it as a main TV.

Looks are deceiving
Having read previous review decided to purchase anyway due to reasonable price the one I really wanted was out of stock everywhere and not much choice for ones with built-in DVD player You have to assemble the stand Volume has to be up high 60+ to be able to hear comfortably Much smaller than my previous TV apparently measured diagonally to get 32inches quite deceiving Ok as a second TV but not as a main TV

it is a great set and easy to use
Order and delivery were very good, no messing baout and all as it should be on arrival Took a while to connect to internet but otherwise really easy to set up even with basic knowledge- looks great- works well with the hitachi sound bar which is needed especially when playing a DVD as the sound is poor Could do with an eject button on the remote for the DVD , but otherwise it is w great TV and worth the money

Decent product at a reasonable price
TV was easy to set up and connect to home wifi following instructions provided. Picture quality is good and although sound could be better, it's easy enough to turn the volume up a few levels. We purchased this model because of the TV/DVD combo as we still have DVDs we like to watch, but being a smart TV, there is lots available on catch up channels too. Very happy with this product, given the price we have paid.

Bought one. It's so good we bought another!
Purchased our first Hitachi and found it really easy to set up. The remote is uncomplicated. Picture quality is superb. Sound is very good for a TV speaker system. The DVD is basic in functionality and simple to use. We have used and abused our Hitachi for several months now and just bought another for our daughter. Its great to have Netflix, Youtube and full internet access on your TV. Highly recommended.

Great TV for the price
Was looking for a tv that also took dvd's - not that easy to find anymore. This one was a good price , looks nice and has smart functions that are super simple to access. We have it in a home gym and the sound is currently through its own speakers. Sound is good given the gym acoustics but would probably sound better through a sound bar or in a living room. Very pleased with it though and would recommend.

Great wee tv for my daughters bedroom
I bought this tv for my daughters bedroom, it’s a great size & I bought this model specifically for the dvd combination. Its so easy to use & all I had to do was plug it in & the tv did all the tuning in, perfect! I would definitely recommend to anyone, good picture quality & easy to work, although I did find the volume had to be louder when playing DVD’s , no big deal though! Pleased with purchase
