I would never buy this product again
My A7s is on it's third shutter. Are others having shutter problems? I can't believe it's only my copy. Maybe it's not meant to actually take stills?rather than video. There is no basis of comparison of the A7s to my Nikon D4s or D800. It's not comparing apples and oranges, it's comparing apples and rocks. The A7s should not be marketed as professional in competition to truly professional gear. My eyes are now opened, I see the web marketing machine for what it is and it is not pretty.

Amazing camera
I purchased this camera to work on my Movi-M5 and support our Sony F3. I'm using Zeiss glass with a metabones Nikon mount converter and I can not believe the performance and image quality of this little camera. Slog-2 is fantastic. The menu is easy and the camera matches very well with my larger sony production cameras. I'm very VERY happy. I also own a GH4... I listed it for sale the day after I first played with the A7s. AMAZING in low light. Basically no light... Just amazing.

The best camera that I have ever used!
This is the best camera that I have ever used! I am completely satisfied with it in every single way. I have owned the 5DM2, BMCC, BMPCC, GH3, GH4, and have to say that none of those can compare to the A7S. I had purchased 3 GH4's for my business thinking that it would be the best camera for me, but I quickly realized after using the A7S that I was wrong. I quickly returned them and purchased A7S cameras instead and am very glad I did. This one is a keeper.

Couldn't wait to show my friends!
I bought the a7S with the 55mm f1.8 10 days ago. They performed exactly as advertised. The camera's low light capabilities are remarkable. I've just tried up to ISO 12800 in my lowlight living room, and outdoors at sunset. The lack of noise at 8000 is amazing, and 12800 shots require a minimum of noise reduction in Lightroom The lens is tack sharp. My only negative is that the batteries don't last as long under similar conditions as my Canon 5D MII.

greatest cam I have ever owned
I am a film maker who was tired of having to a settle for a shallow depth of field while in low light situations. the Sony A7s solved this problem for me,You can shoot 4k video and shoot at ISO speeds up into the 50,000's and still have great looking video. It is new so there are not many lenses (which are expense) but you can circumvent that by buying a lens adapter ring like I did so I can use my dads old F series Nikon lenses

So far, really great!
XAVC S looks great on my TV, but is not yet compatible with Final Cut X. Contacted Sony about importing and they were estonishingly unhelpful. Low light is several stops better then the a7r. Comes with two batteries. In still mode, it does not get particularly bad battery life, but in Video, it burns through a battery in about a half hour... Dynamic Range is extremely good. Silent shutter is, Silent. No really, it is Silent.

Amazing Low Light Performance
I still can't get over how good this camera performs at high ISO settings. Coupled with the Zeiss 1.8/55mm, it produces stunning color and sharpness. The documentation is horrible sLog is accessed on Picture Profile 7, and I guess it will output 4K on the HDMI when I hook it up to a Shogun (coming soon!) but you wouldn't know it from the manual. But you don't by technology for the paper manual, so I still give it five stars.

What You Expect - Impressive Low Light
This camera is as the reviews suggest - impressive for video, and mediocre in photo. The low light is great. I have no trouble bumping it to ISO20,000+ for acceptable results. It's an impressive camera by no doubt. Photos aren't bad by any means, just not as extraordinary. I had some issues with the focus peaking, but is that something to rely on anyway? Also, watch out for rolling shutter - especially in silent photo mode.

Could not recomend more
Aside from just amazing video/photo quality the form function of the camera is amazing, incredibly small, light and durable. It feels like a tank in your hands. The slow motion is amazing and I can't speak highly enough about the low light. As well the focus peaking and viewfinder are the best things in the world when it comes to focus. The only downside is the battery life. It last about three hours

Great camera so far!
This has been a great replacement for my Canon 5D Mark III. I was looking for a full frame camera that also does 4K (still waiting, so benefit of the doubt here) and is great in low light.I am still using Canon glass as I am heavily invested in their L series. The adapter I purchased makes auto focus a mess but I just turn on focus peaking and use the manual focus. Still great results!

amazing camera with awesome form factor
I use this alongside of my fs-700 as a B-cam in many professional environments. Everyone know that this cam has great low light but the image quality is brilliant. and can control the highlights like a beast. Note the battery life is not all that bad!! If you do have to shoot fast objects or more violent camera movements switch to apc mode and that takes care of rolling shutter.-----

Amazing!
There are many reviews out there about the A7s so I'll just say it is everything it needs to be. I'm definitely excited about the 4k output once the Shogun is here. At that point I think this camera will be hard to beat. There are some quirks: form factor, soccer mom picture profiles...but that's a small price to pay for such a powerful machine. I'd buy it again in a flash.

Sharp
Coming from a DSLR setup for video, the HD footage from this camera is SHARP and a huge step forward. The lights sensitivity is well documented, besides that selling point, the Slog2 picture profile option is fantastic. Be sure to over expose to get the best results, when you do that and set the white balance correctly, you will get very impressive results.

Great low light camera
I bought the product primarily for it's video capability. The Pros- Great ISO suppression, almost no noise even at 3200 ISO.- Great usability - custom hot keys and etc.The Cons- Can't compare with expensive cameras - few details are missing in features but what do you expect from a camera under $3K?- Menus that can be better with Firmware update.

Must-have for Wedding Videographers
I've been so happy with my a7s! No other camera compares to it's low-light capabilities which is absolutely a must-have for wedding videographers like me. A helpful tip: Make sure to change your lens Comp. setting to auto before attaching your lens (especially Zeiss users). The wobble distortion goes away and it makes all the difference!

Great for video, good for stills
The best thing out there for low light, the Sony A7s is very good for video with a lot of pro-camcorders features like peaking, zebras and audio levels. Great Slog2 capability. Its 12mp is not amazing for stills, but there is a huge dynamic range and beautiful colors in the RAW files. Great camera overall!

I love my Sony a7s
A professional wedding videographer, I love the special features of the a7s, auto focus, high ISO, zebra exposure features, it is light, compact and produces amazing video. The controls for video are simple, shutter, f-stop and iso all are separate on top of the camera

It sees in the dark
This is an amazing piece. I have a RED EPIC that is my A cam, but I needed a second camera that could 1. Do 4k 2. Shoot at least 1080 60p for Jib, RC, and gorilla Run and Gun. 3. Interchange EF glass 4. Durable. Sony has answered the call where canon and nikon haven't.

S For Swag
By far, the best Mirrorless I have ever used. Image quality is stunningly beautiful, sharp and vibrant. Noise handling is top-notch. Beats my Canon 5D mk3 and the Nikon D800e at high ISO settings. Will definitely recommend this!

GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE
I shoot a lot of weddings in CA and this is the camera that fits me the best. 1st reason the low light option is just amazing 2nd the sharpness of the image 3rd works great with canon glass, well a adapter is required.

Product needs a little improvement
An excellent product for stills and video needs a much more sophisticated WiFi Remote Control with at least half-a-mile range radius than the supplied toy like Remote Controller with few feet range for this price.
