Great tv overall
Great tv, easy to set up. The connections for a sound bar aren’t great tho. Only option is hdmi or optical so my soundbar had aux cables so not suitable. Also you can’t choose to use headphone jack and tv speaker at the same time which means it’s either tv or headphones/soundbar. I wanted option to be able to use tv as normal and switch on soundbar with remote to add extra sound but not possible. Only downside. Remote angle range isn’t brilliant but works fine. Overall happy for the price.

TV is amazing!
This TV is amazing. Fantastic value 4K Ultra HD TV
This Hitachi 50" Ultra HD 4K TV is fantastic value compared with other brands. Easy set up with on -screen graphics, good connections - this TV actually has 3 x HDMI sockets as opposed to the 2 sockets stated in the catalogue !!! - so games console/blu-ray player/freeview recorder are all catered for ! Easy set up and connection to the internet via wi-fi , great colours & depth to the picture quality especially on HD Channels - you really start to notice the difference in 4K quality 10/10 !!

Awful
Got the TV home and the screen was broken so had to go back to store and after much inspection by the staff they finally agreed that they would replace the TV but I was then told that the TV's had sold out in every store in the country and nobody knew when they would be in again or if when they did get stock in again if I would get the TV at the same price. I asked for a deal on another TV or at least a discount to cover my petrol I was told no so I went to Curry's and purchased a TV in there.

Excellent buy
This TVs specs seem too good to be true but it is honestly as good as it looks/sounds. The 4K resolution is excellent, you could easily spend double and get worse quality. The remote works far better than our last one including the speed of typing on YouTube and netflix. The interface is quicker too. Tuning (for freeview purposes) is simple and very easy to use. At this price and from my own personal experience with Hitachi smart TVs over the last 6 years or so I'd recommend it to everyone.

decent tv for the money
i purchased this tv on behalf of the club i`m a member of. the on screen set up is fairly easy to follow but their is not much provided by way of instruction manual and what little you get is very tiny writing and hard to read. i could not find a clearly marked settings button on the remote and it took me several attempts to realise i had to follow the initial screen on switching it on (maybe i`m just old ) anyway everyone watching this tv within the club is happy with the quality provided

Excellent product at a really good price.
Had a problem with the first delivered but Argos got straight on to it. Everyone got on to the deal and stock at all local branches dried up. Many thanks to Mark at the Retford branch who got over the problem and a replacement was found much quicker than anticipated. So nice to see an employee who uses his brain to find solutions not more problems. Definite recommendation for employee of the month. Nothing too much trouble and am now enjoying it as a tv and computer monitor in the man cave.

New Smart TV for my daughter and family.
Initially, on setting it up, the programme guide had no channel info and wouldn't switch channels. We ticked all the privacy settings ( which may not be necessary) and re-scanned, which resulted in it working. The satellite connections also work and it seems easy to switch from that back to the aerial. Downside is that Amazon TV isn't built-in, which I missed before purchase, but other UK TV apps are. The guide is printed in a tiny font, so thank goodness setup was intuitive. Good value Argos.

Poor
The TV looks good however it wouldn’t connect or find any channels and was a hassle to get it to connect to WiFi . Spent 2 frustrating hours with no success at getting terrestrial TV The set was slow to power up and the remote was deadly slow and unresponsive. It was a complete let down so gave up after a few days took it back and exchanged for a 49” Panasonic which 2 mins after powering up had found 88 channels and was so easy to set up . Accordingly would not recommend.the Hitachi

Great Value
Its a decent buy, but be warned, expect very long delays between pressing the buttons on the remote and the tv responding, especially when using smart tv apps, the cpu within the unit is hopelessly underpowered, I have 3 of these TV's bought over a 4 month span and one of the TV's has began to develop an intermittent fault, images have white spots over and whites sometimes have a somewhat neon blue certain times. The TV's are good value, but there are sacrifices, some obvious shadowing.

My new TV is great, thank you Argos.
Below facts that are published in daily papers and Argos wouldn't publish for my purchase. They seem to want to censor what is being said in product reviews that give feedback to customers. Argos don't approve of my review. Is it because I'm disabled? Or is it about only post the reviews that will lead to more sales and profit whilst misleading their customer base? Cheap and cheerful
A fantastic tv for the price, beats the Samsung nu7100 by a landslide. A few issues with the Nintendo switch and Dolby vision. Great for gaming, has a low input lag and even lower with game mode enabled. Hdr is great for such a cheap tv. Haven't tried the smart features but i assume they are good enough. Ive had lots of fun with the feature to link my phone screen to the tv. The picture options cant be changed much if in game mode. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. A great tv.

Great value for money, but not perfect
It's a bit crazy what you can get a TV for these days. The Hitachi is a brilliant piece of technology and a month or so in I'm very happy with it. The picture is great, the sound is so good I held off buying surround sound. It's obviously not on the same level as the tvs going for five times the price but if it lasts 3-5 years I will be happy. The only two problems are that the GUI is quite slow and the YouTube app isn't always good. Nothing a chrome cast or media server can't fix!

its good but doesn't go beyond expectations
It does what it says it will do but it doesn't go beyond expectations. it connects to the internet, the picture quality is good except you wont notice unless your watching something in HD or ultra HD. the sound quality is good ( I rarely need my tv above volume number 15-goes to 100). the remote is a little temperamental but that could just be mine, and the Hitachi app store is suspect (I was hoping for a Spotify app which it doesn't support). but these are minor nit picky issues.

A good sized, good value TV
For the price, the picture quality is excellent and the sound quality is also surprisingly good - almost, but not quite, making my soundbar redundant. Connectivity could be better. There's only one HDMI input and no SCART. The optical out for the soundbar works well though. The stand is quite intrusive and silver while the TV bezel is black. It's also quite fiddly to fit to the TV so I'm pleased I only had to do that once. I really like the Netflix, etc. buttons on the remote.

Good but flawed
I bought this tv as an upgrade from a 42” and the 50” doesn’t take up much more space than the other tv which was pleasantly surprising. The sound is okay I guess, bought a soundbar to fix this problem. The picture quality is good. However, sometimes the tv looks quite grainy and every 2 hours or so the words “Dolby Vision” pop up and the screen goes black? I have to change source and to back into the first one to restore the picture. How can I fix this problem?

Hitachi TV avoid if want to watch Netflix
Having read the reviews I decided that this was the TV for me, however, the remote control was very slow responding. I couldn't play Netflix as there was a delay of a few minutes scrolling for films and you would find yourself watching something you didn't ask for and then you couldn't stop or pause. This is a good TV if you don't want to watch Netflix as all other channels seem to be working ok. I returned the TV to Argos with no problem and chose another brand.

Entry level 4k at a reasonable price
I saw this one on a promoted Argos Google search. I purchased it, while at the same time signing up for an Argos Store card. Pros: 1. Great price 2. Plug and play. Easy to setup 3. Crisp sound. Loud & Clear with depth 4. Lots of inputs to plug in other gear, if you want to use it as a monitor. Cons: 1. Picture is not great for a 4K HDR from non UHD sources. 2160P quality looks stunning though 2. Remote is very temperamental. Overall great buy for the price.

PLEASE DONT BUY THIS TV !!!
Avoid this tv at all costs !!! I purchased this tv and within 2 days had to take it back because of technical difficulties, the remote just wasn’t responsive at all and Netflix crashed every time I tried to use it meaning I had to unplug the tele to get it working again. Changed it for a brand new one and it did exactly the same so I took the second one back and changed it for a Hisense one which by the way works amazingly ! Do not waste your money on this tv !

Usually a good make hitachi, had just over a week & the remote would not connect to the tv, phoned tech support who said the sensor was faulty said they would send an engineer that would take 3-5 days, bought this for my mum & her telly is her lifeline, wasn’t happy so returned it but have to say that Argos were fab took it back no problem & refunded my money, the picture & sound we’re good liked the telly but wasn’t happy it going wrong after a week

Excellent picture quality and reasonable sound.
The picture is excellent in 4k and the sound is reasonable from the inbuilt speakers. I have wall mounted my tv so cannot comment on the ease or difficulty of fitting the stand. The tv was easy to set-up and once I connected it to my wi-fi it has done the software updates necessary. The menu is fairly straight forward and there are plenty of accessibility options - Freeview Play, Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube all have their own buttons on the handset.

You get what you pay
The picture quality of this TV is significantly poor compared with 4K TVs from Samsung which obviously are up to 30% costlier but I believe the difference is worth it. From no angle the TV gives you the HDR experience. I am not sure how long the TV will last but I still opted to not return it back to Argos. If this is yet another TV in your household then you can go for it but my recommendation is to avoid it if this will be your primary TV set.

Just Awful
I don't think i have anything good to say about it. It's looks nice but that's about it. For what's supposed to be 4K Ultra HD, it has poor picture quality, poor sound, video kept dropping out, audio off sync, white screen at a viewing angle, remote control doesn't work unless you are virtually sitting on top of the TV etc. Item returned and paid more on top for a better make and model. My verdict is absolutely appalling.

My new television does much more than my last one.
I love this television. Has built in Netflix and amazon prime as well as built in free view YouTube etc. Well worth the money. Works on antenna and broadband. ( dish too if you have sky which I do not) Easy to set up. Not top of the range in picture quality but I have no problem with it. I think my slow broadband might be a contributing factor but still comfortable to watch I am very happy with my purchase.
