Good Buy

Jan 22, 2013

For the price, these give good deep sound, they perform as they are meant to. The cable is sturdy and does not feel like it will break any time soon. The box that comes with the headphones is useful as it can keep them protected, the box will hold up quite well, uses proper hinges. The buds may be slightly large, but they fit quite comfortably and do not feel heavy at all. The only problem is that the cable does put some sound through to the headphones when banged, this can be irritating when walking fast or running.

Durable, hi-quality, brilliant ....4th pair!

Jan 19, 2017

Used these headphones for the last 3 years... they have never damaged... unless if i broke them by accident. Even washed them accidently and they still worked. I use them alot for the gym where its noisy... once they are in... complete and utter bliss without a sound of the gym around me. Cables are thicker than the usual but not bulky. Makes them a little more durable. And hardly tangle. Plus... the bass from them is actually impressive. And for that price. Buy it you will not be disappointed.

Acceptable

Aug 16, 2013

Fine for casual listening. I was hoping at the price point they would be a bit more balanced in sound - technically I would describe as very 'coloured', lacking a little presence and with excessive bass. But they seem to handle power well and give a good output. Come with three sizes of ear bud. Tough packaging to open. Cable seems decent quality-not that long, but as with the small/flimsy straight jack plug probably standard. Probably not especially good or bad as compared with similar models.

Not the worst headphones out there... not the best

May 8, 2017

I bought these because the cable looked nice and thick, the bass drivers are HUGE and they have a straight connector into my phone. Also they cost about £20 which is the usual amount I spend due to the fact I lose them a lot. These do sound good with a balanced response, I listen to a lot of bass weighted electronic music and they do a good job. The issue I had was that the first pair broke after a couple of weeks so had to take them back and get them replaced. I do use them constantly though!

Passable budget friendly earphones

Sep 5, 2019

These earphones come with a plastic case and have sturdy construction for fairly cheap units. The cable is thick and seems durable. The ear pieces don't stay in my ears particularly well which isn't a problem I've had across dozens of different pairs from other brands. I'd say the sound is certainly ok, but nothing special - it's fairly neutral at low volumes, but with increased volume it becomes bass dominant. All in all, solid budget purchase for daily use but there are better options

Superb!

May 14, 2014

As an all-day headphone-wearer at work, I really need comfortable in-ear headphones and wish I'd discovered these sooner. Really good shape means in no ear-ache after several hours wear; superb sound quality, tho heavy on the bass! Even though these are not actually noise-cancelling headphones, superb in-ear fit means the annoying background buzz of work colleagues is defeated!! Plus the storage box is fantastic for keeping your buds safe when you are on the move. Buy 'em, you'll like 'em!

Great Pair of Headphones!!

Sep 25, 2015

These headphones we're recommended to me by my friend. When my previous pair broke. At first I was anxious to buy a different type of headphone that I was used to. I eventually decided to try out the headphones as I had no others spare and i have to say they DO NOT disappoint! The design on these headphones is pretty avereage for an in-ear piece, however the sound quality is far beyond most others of a similar price range. They block out a good amout of sound from surroundings as well. Bonus!

EDM Listeners

Oct 16, 2014

I got these headphones after reading a couple of reviews on various websites. I listen to EDM predominantly. These headphones do justice to it for sure. I would totally recommend them if you are an EDM listener. You may have to tweak your EQ a little but they're great for the price. The box is handy and allows you to store the headphones carefully. The only downside may be that the headphones may itch you after long periods - over 2 hrs. Apart from that this is definitely a great product

jbl xplosions earbuds

Dec 31, 2019

these are the best earbuds i've owned. they are a bit uncomfortable if you use them for 6 hours + wthout a break. I've owned this pair of earphones for the past 5 years and they are by far my favourite and always go back to buy them when they break. the only thing i dislike about them is the cable tends to break at the aux port after a while if you keep pulling the cable to take them out of your device, however this is expected as by pulling the cable you strecth and break the wires inside.

A tad disappointed

Jan 6, 2020

I was looking for a pair of cheapish earphones as whatever ones I buy they never seem to last more than a year before failing. I bass, and encouraged by the positive reviews mentioning the bass and the advertising blurb that they employed larger 10mm drivers I purchased these. However on opening the packaging I was fairly disappointed as they look and feel so plasticy, cheaply-made and fragile. I will be amazed if they last a year. On playback there is FAR too much treble however

Personally, the worst I've ever bought.

May 15, 2016

I read the reviews before buying, so expected "explosive" base tones, but was sorely disappointed. Tried all sizes of rubber cups in my ears, but no difference. The higher tones are clear, but there is no base , even tried in several different devices. I don't think they are faulty, just a very misleading description where the base is concerned. I wanted a deep, booming base, but it just doesn't exist with these earphones. Also, the ear buds are very heavy and so fall out by gravity.

Great sound for little money

Jul 7, 2016

The real plus point of these headphones is the midrange as the vocals are very clear for a set of in ears at this price. The treble is a little bit splashy but not overly so.The bass is decent but can be a bit overblown causing other instruments that you should be able hear to be masked by it.At the this price point i should not really complain.Overall,a good buy and you will need to spend a bit more if you are looking for a more involving sound but these are worth it at this price

I would not recommend these headphones. They do not last,I used them for day before the wiring came loose, got a replacement pair only for the same thing to happen. They are comfortable to wear and the case they come with is a nice addition, I think if they were built with better wiring then they would be worth buying. As they are currently you need to constantly adjust the wires in order for them to work and I would strongly advise against purchasing these headphone.

Good construction let down by very poor sound

Mar 23, 2019

There's no promised 'Extreme Explosive' bass, the only Extreme Explosive is the over-emphasis on the mid and high EQ range that makes these sound no better than a £5 pair of headphones. I listened through a variety of sources with different musical genres. The sound is cheap and tinny to the point of hurting when listening at a decent volume. A complete waste of money. Due to the nature of in-ear 'phones, these can't be returned so I'll keep the little case and bin the rest.

Great Bass and colour, Not so Comfy on the ears.

Jan 16, 2020

The earphones come with a lovely little carrying case, which actually fits, 3 sets of spare earbuds, which are rather useful if you're like me and constantly lose your earbuds. They provide excellent base and sound quality, and look pretty decent in terms of style, the black and the red fit well together. Your main compromise with these earphones is that they have a very long cable (for me, thats a compromise) and they can be rather painful to the ears at times. Would recommend.

Good Produce

Jan 2, 2015

These earphones are really good for the price. They aren't brilliant and they are strange to get used to because of the size of the drivers. You really need to make sure you have the right size ear buds to get the best sound! They also come with a cute little box to keep them in which is a really nice touch. It's the perfect size to keep in your pocket and prevents wires tangling up. This is an overall good product and I would highly recommend as a mid-range earphone.

Great Quality and Deep Bass

Oct 31, 2018

The sound at this price is just amazing, when coupled with something like Viper4Android the bass and quality that can be achieved is nothing short of amazing, especially at this price range. These lasted me around 12 months before one ear piece stopped working, however with Argos cover they was replaced on the spot. You'd be lucky to find a pair of in ears with this quality and bass so I'd definitely recommend these and the Argos cover to get added value.

Best in-earphones i've had the pleasure to use

Aug 13, 2015

i was in need of some good earphones to keep me enjoying every little bit of sound that i'm used to. Because i'm not the type of guy to downgrade. Searching around i found these amazingly designed earphones. They are easy to get used to. they have a crisp audio sound. It works very well with aggressive bass as well as clean guitars. I would completely recommend these and especially at this price. Like the title says best in earphones so far! Don't miss out!

ups and downs

Apr 28, 2015

I bought these headphones today and they are okay. They handle bass well which is the main thing. However, the treble i find is quite harsh particularly when it comes to vocals. Vocals sound pinchy and sharp and at time difficult and uncomfortable to listen to no matter what the volume which i'm not keen on. I think JVC tried to cut costs by really trying to emphasis bass but didnt put enough into the middle and upper register of songs. Still worth a buy!

Amazing Sound

May 20, 2016

I wasn't sure about the style of these types of headphones because I don't like things stuck in my ears but they are absolutely perfect to block out the noise on my commute. I can listen to podcasts and hear everything really clearly and can't hear any background noise (be careful when using these and walking around - you can't hear traffic noise). Really good bass when listening to music. Great price for a great product. Would definitely recommend.

Not much style and no substance...

Jun 14, 2018

I chose the headphones because they seemed like a good price. JVC although not perhaps the most popular make nowadays, JVC are known for their sound devices. The headphones started off ok but after a few uses, the sound has deteriorated and when watching my programmes it sounds like I'm in a studio. It's echoey and it's like I'm watching it being record live... It is not crisp. I will be returning these headphones to Argos for a full refund

Great earphones

Oct 24, 2017

If you're like me and destroy your headphone frequently by leaving them in bag...standing on them etc. You don't want to spend a small fortune. The sound quality is great for these and they fit comfortably. Do they look pretty? Not really the buds are quite large and angular but they function well and ideal for gym as they stay in. Only thing I haven't worked out is if they have a mic...if I use them for speaking people can't hear me well.

Not what I expected

Jan 2, 2015

This product has nothing that sets it apart from different headphones, the sound quality is slightly better than most but the volume is still bad. And the fact that the headphones stick out of your ears make you feel ridiculous. I mean if your buying these as a cheap alternate for beats in ear headphones or any other big name brand continue looking because these aren't the worst headphones I've ever had but their certainly not the best.

Great sound, almost perfect

Mar 25, 2015

Amazing sound and loud! Unfortunately my first pair broke. First the sound failed on one side, then the other side which was due to stress around where the cable meets the jack. An L shaped cable would be better. I'd certainly recommend them as I've bought another pair, just make sure you reinforce that area with some black electrical tape etc, that way it will be protected from stress in pockets and what have you and will last longer.
