Dell UP2716D 27 16:9 IPS Monitor
Expensive, but Likely Worth It
This monitor will take up a good chunk of desk real estate. There is no two ways about it. However, it will also give that same real estate back in allowing applications to show a lot more information at once and unlike multiple monitor setups, there is no bezel to get in the way. This monitor is very effective for photo editing. The high resolution and size means that you are practically zoomed in on an image for some serious pixel peeping even ... Show More

Excellent, not quite perfect
This monitor replaced a nearly ten year old Dell 3007WFP 30 screen that I use for video and photo editing as well as everyday web browsing and general computer tasks. Compared to the old monitor, it has much higher resolution, brightness, and extensive color adjustments. The color reproduction is outstanding and adds a great deal of confidence to my image editing work -- as well as just having a visual pop that makes it a pleasure to look at. Pre... Show More

may have more than you need
This was my choice after considerable research into a 2560x1440 monitor for image processing, an upgrade from an 11-year-old 1920x1200 Dell. Have had it for a few weeks now. Great quality for the price, but may be more than you need. One of its key selling points is a color gamut greater than the usual sRGB, specifically keyed to Adobe 1998. The driver/control software and built-in on-screen display controls (OSD) are a bit confusing and not well... Show More

Outstanding Monitor, Calibrated True Color
I needed a new monitor to replace an ageing 8 year old LG227WTG 22 TN panel display. What a difference a calibrated display makes. I proof photos on a Canon Pro 9000 MarkII. It was always difficult with the old display because the colors always appeared much darker and cooler on the screen than in my prints. A few test prints without any tweaking of the display, I was virtually printing what I saw in the screen. This saves me a great deal of time... Show More

1st thing you need to do. The CD did not come with my monitor. So I had to go to Dell and download the manual and software. The calibration will need a device. So if you calibrate your monitor, be aware that you will need to purchase such an item. I have an Xrite that works well. OK, with that said, this monitor is good for what I do. I especially like the fact that it does not produce the huge amount of heat that my old U2410 did. You may n... Show More

Large screen for image processing w/100% Adobe color gamut
Bought two of these to work with our Dell Precision 7530's. The screen size is great. Resolution is excellent and works great for finishing, but does not match the higher resolution of our 7530 monitors. Took a little getting used too. Adjusting the resolution settings changes both and we have to compromise choosing large vs. small parameters of the two. Thus 4 stars instead of 5. This should NOT be a deal breaker because you can shift your gaze ... Show More

A Frustrating Monitor
I bought one of these monitors about a year ago and it had excellent color and uniformity. Unfortunately the second one I bought didn't. After 2 returns I gave up trying to find one to match the first, as the second had a noticeable color shift from green to pink moving from left to right. B&H did a decent job with their return policy however after two returns (the second came broken and the third monitor was the same as the first) I gave up beca... Show More

Well...it's got a nice design.
After reading so many reviews about the lack of color and brightness uniformity with this monitor I must really have been feeling lucky when I decided to order it. I was not lucky. The issues that have plagued this monitor since its introduction have never been corrected. My Dell WFP-3007-HC, at least a decade old, outperforms this model on both counts. Let me be more specific. This particular monitor had a subtle pink spot on the right hand sid... Show More

Looks Great -- Kinda Huge
I'm using it on a 2010 MacPro, with a GTX1080, running MacOS Sierra. It's connected DP port on the card, to the mDP on the monitor, because that's the cable that came with it. Bought it for my photography workflow, but it's main monitor on my main computer, so I use it for everything. It's calibrated from the factory for color, so games look a little washed out, but that's expected and even then it looks really nice. The pixel density is somewher... Show More

Good Quality Monitor
I am a photography enthusiast and purchased this monitor to serve as a larger viewing screen when editing photos in Lightroom. I pair it with my 2014 13 MacBook Air. It was pretty much a plug and play situation using the MDP/DP cable which came with the monitor. The DP larger end of the cord plugs into the Display Port input on the monitor and the MDP end of the cord plugs into the thunderbolt outlet on my laptop. I followed the instruction sheet... POOR COLOR UNIFORMITY
The monitor I received had a distinct change in colour/hue from left to right across the display. The left side was green/yellow, the right side was magenta (see pic). This had a distinct impact on (for example) skin tone rendition across the screen. The only way to get rid of this hue change was to switch on the software-based 'Uniformity Compensation' mode - under UC mode the monitor looked fine, i.e. evenly lit and with even color. BUT in UC m... Show More

Not a pro monitor.
Left side some greenish rigth side pinky...an irregular spot up in the middle bluish this is very annoying and very noticeable since it is a spot, it makes me mad, the other color deviations are bigger areas and not very strong, not so disturbing. Color compensation only works in standard setting, other than that for example if you use sRGB color seting then color compensation is automatically disabled. Power touch button only works 1 of 100 time... Show More

I like the new Dell up3216q. I stepped up from the dell u2711. I use an i1Pro 2 for calibration and profiling which integrates well with the dell hardware/software. I turned the 2711 vertically for use with palettes in Photoshop and other programs. The additional room for work is quite nice as is the additional gamut coverage. I do a fair amount of retouching and color work for other professionals and believe this will definitely contribute to gr... Show More

not even close to 99.5% aRGB
Perhaps I received a defective monitor. I was replacing a U2711 monitor with this one. The size is amazing, and the anti-glare screen is nicer than the U2711. It's a lot less fuzzy. I was going to initially run them side by side, but I think this monitor can replace a dual monitor setup if you don't need to look at something on the other side. The USB 3 ports work as expected. The U2711 is supposed to have 96% aRGB coverage and calibrate to 97.5%... Show More

In addition, the monitor displays very clear, crisp details and text. Sharp display, poor color management
The display overall is good and sharp. With the "Uniformity Compensation" feature turned on, it does test fairly uniform with DisplayCAL software and an i1 Display Pro. Pros: Excellent picture quality, likely the best monitor under $2k you can buy today. Comes individually calibrated from the factory. No dead pixels. Great viewing angle. Just unbelievable 4k picture. Cons: The menu is only available when you can see the input signal. Thus it is pretty useless when you need to debug why you see no signal. Great display quality
The 4K display quality is great. My old retired-guy's eyes can still read all the menus and icons without scaling the display. Love that it can display the AdobeRBG colorspace for my work in Lightroom and Photoshop. I am having a weird issue with Windows automatically shrinking my app windows when I turn off the monitor and turn it back on (my PC runs 24/7 so I just turn off monitor instead of shutting down Windows). Its great having more screen real estate to fit all the Photoshop palettes onscreen and still have enough room to display large images. Very pleased so far.
