Love the computer, not quite in love yet with Mojave
I am a dyed-in-the-wool Mac user and bought this 2019 model to replace my old 2011 MBP which was, sadly, about to enter a hospice situation. There are so many great things about the new MBPit's speed, screen, colors, battery time, sound, touch ID, and abilities to keep open many apps without ever over-heating or crashing. And, not only do I have no issue with the keyboard, but I actually love it. The only thing that is a head-scratcher to me is t... Show More

Early review: Great performance but worth the price?
I replaced my 13in MacBook Pro (mid 2017 no touch bar) with this 15 (Mid 2019) MacBook Pro last month. So far I'm very pleased with overall performance and features of this laptop. Pro Very fast performance running Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & SuiteCase with lots of fonts loaded simultaneously. Sound from speaker is very loud and clear Touch Bar is very responsive Very quiet Light weight compare to other 15in high-end laptops Con... Show More

Having some regrets
I needed to retire my trusty Early 2009 MacPro because it could not be updated with the latest OSx versions. I decided to go with this MacBook Pro based on its promise of a significant improvement in performance over the old MacPro. In the process of transferring a lot of Apps and loading new ones I found that it was getting very hot, particularly the area between the top row of keys and base of the lcd. In fact, it was uneven comfortable to the ... Show More

Perfect Upgrade
I upgraded from a Mid 2012 MACBOOK PRO, my concerns were the lack of the assorted ports and using a dongle or similar adapter. I have found this not to be an issue at all, I am using a wireless External hard drive and the cloud storage for other files more than ever before. The computer is excellent, fast and able to preform many tasks at once, I have been unable to see the dreaded spinning rainbow even after opening all apps at once to test the ... Show More

Outstanding - would definitely recommend!
This is for my employment. I use an iMac for photo/video editing, needed something more powerful for when I am mobile - iPad is great but can't really do Adobe Acrobat things, etc. I chose this MacBook Pro as it's specs are pretty close to the iMac I use with Adobe Creative Cloud apps. I store almost all of my media/documents on an external drive or cloud, so managing the 512GB storage is not a big concern. I'm very happy with Apple products and ... Show More

Very satisfied
Sure, the machine gets warm. Sure, the battery does not last a full day of use. But does it matter? Well for me, not necessarily. I purchased the machine because I expected to give it tasks that are practical in environmental conditions that are normal. At times, I will execute scripts and tasks that take days to complete. Since I still live on Earth, my machine enjoys AC as much as I do. The machine will still get warm, and the machine will need... Show More

Great laptop!
I still have my Windows laptop, but made up my mind to only use it for editing my photos with PhotoSuite. I bought this because I wanted to be safe online as much as possible. I have an iPhone and am happy with it, another laptop that I installed Ubuntu on years ago, but am only so proficient at. This has a great processor, and is kind of like both OSs of the others, but with its own twist. Is easy to learn, and because it has Thunderbolt ports o... Show More

Battery life is never as advertised
I enjoy the computer. The keyboard has a new feel that I was a bit caught off guard with, but I have gotten used to it pretty quickly. On the inside it's a creative workhorse. The display is nice, but looks the same as the 2013 model I replaced it with. I had to spend another couple hundred dollars on a thunderbolt hub which was annoying. The Touch Bar is surprisingly more useful than I thought it would be. The battery life is TERRIBLE to say the... Show More

Great computer if 2017
Overall, this is an excellent computer and I am happy with my purchase, that said, it is 2019, and Apple, it is time for MacBook Pro redesign. Others, such as Huawei, (which I did not buy for ethical reasons), give you more bang for your buck, and when it comes to weight, they give you less. Here is the good: fast processin, great screen, superb track pad (the best) , excellent sound, solid (built like a brick), reliable. Areas for improvement: t... Show More

Huge Upgrade (in performance)
Coming from a mid 2012 13 MBP... This computer obviously was a huge upgrade in performance. It's an absolute workhorse when it comes to editing videos and designing graphics. The bad... dongles, and more dongles, and adapters for your dongles, and dongles for your hubs. USB-C is great, especially for charging, but be prepared to carry around a backpack full of dongles to get all the ports that a normal person uses throughout their day. Luckily, ... Show More

Overall love - but the track pad is a little wonky
The display is great - pictures look vastly better than they did on my '08 iMac! Keyboard is a little noisy - but seems to work great. Startup is fast, launching apps is fast, rebooting is speedy, etc.... The only thing that's a little weird is the track pad. Usually it's fine - but maybe 15% of the time when I click on something it doesn't activate it, and when I click & drag it doesn't highlight everything or move all the selections. I've only ... Didn't meet expectations
For most tasks, an epic machine. Very nice, superb screen, easy work flow, nice to use. Advertising was misleading, said for high resolution cameras and 10 hour battery life. In this regard, a fail. Not a lot of performance processing large image files and battery life barely 2 hours. For my primary purpose, mobile work with H6D, this model is very mediocre. Type C connection very slow (abour 5 seconds per image, to transfer via Apple type C ... Show More

New isn't always better
I bought this MBP to replace my old mid-2015 MBP. This new machine has four USB-C ports; I needed to buy an adapter to be able to attach my legacy USB and Thunderbolt 2 hard drives, and my HDMI monitor. The new MBP has the dreaded butterfly keyboard, instead of the old and trusty scissor-mechanism keyboard. The new MBP has the touchbar, which, while looking very cool, is so far of questionable use. The new MBP is not noticeably faster than my 5 y... Show More

Very good Machine Overall
The 2019 Macbook Pro is the same 2016-2018 love it or hate it design with a better CPU, new materials on the keyboard and better speakers. It have very good performances overall at the cost of heating issues and some thermal throttling if you choose the i9 version. Other than that, and the famous keyboard issues ( which I havent had in the past 2 years with previous similar models) It is a pretty good, elegant and reliable machine in my experience. I mainly use it for graphic design and photography edition and for those tasks it work like a charm! If you want it, just buy it!

So far so good!
I bought this laptop last month to replace my old 2013 macbook pro, and boy was it an upgrade. I was a little annoyed at first about the idea of having a touch bar in place of a row of buttons but for some reason I have been loving it. Not sure why. Its just neato. I do a lot of video editing on the road so I did go with a fairly well loaded machine, and editing from a ssd via usb-c has been a fantastic experience. So heres to hoping nothing changes and I continue loving it for years and years and maybe actualy 4 whole years really before I have to upgrade again.

B&H's Customer Service is amazing!
Bought this MacBook Pro from B&H for my daughter for Christmas and the computer would not charge (not a simple charger issue). Spent three hours at an Apple store in VA trying to get it fixed - was told it would take nine days and could only be shipped back to the Apple store it was shipped from for repair... Called B&H and they said bring it in and we will give you a new one. What a pleasant call that was! Upon returning to NY, my daughter was in and out of B&H in less than 45 minutes with a new laptop. Thank you B&H, very pleased with how you do business.

A lot of power
This is such a great laptop. The only thing I fear is the keyboard failing. I've pushed it to the limits with 4k video and it performs great. The screen is absolutely beautiful. The touchpad is huge, with is something you have to get used to while you're typing, and having almost no key travel is interesting - but depending on your keyboard preferences, it's fine. Nothing will never replace the iconic Chiclet keyboard. The touchbar is more useful than I thought it'd be, especially during typing in web browsers (auto complete!). The speakers are amazing.

Responsive Delivery
2012 MacBook Pro with all my business on it crashed with no solution in sight. Needed this in a hurry, and B&H delivered it on a Saturday, the day after I ordered. It took me most of the weekend to get all my data migrated, but I was up and running on Monday. Lifesaver. The machine of course, is as advertised. Expensive, but it works. 2012 machine was laboring with Adobe applications that I have since removed and now looks like a good backup. It was time for a transition and this was about as painless as it could be.

First time Mac user
I've used a windows based PC for 20+ years and this is my first MacBook. Although I am familiar with an iPhone it is taking some time to figure out the file format and layout on this Mac. It is very quick and responsive, I love the clarity and definition of the screen. My primary reason for purchasing a Mac was for photo editing, slide shows etc. I think, in time, I will be able to figure out the Touch Bar options, keystroke shortcuts etc. I'll try to write a better review once I have a couple of months under my belt.

Wonderful machine.
Writing now from the MBP 15, pretty stellar machine. I run a nonprofit media company so I edit video and photographs frequently, and the machine has no problem with Davinci Resolve or Lightroom. I'm an Apple fan (iPhone Xs, 27 iMac) and this product keeps my brand loyalty alive and well. Expensive? Sure, but when the vast majority of what I produce and generate revenue from depends on my laptop or desktop, I'm more than happy to ensure I get the best product I can. Enjoy yours!

Amazing laptop. My last macbook pro was a 13 inch late 2009 and still runs great. But processor could not handle the demands I need it for as a video DJ. This laptop can handle my demands and much more, I can browse the internet while playing music videos and the software's I have running. I got a great deal and free next day shipping. B&H even priced matched the competitor, I chose B&H over competitor because of the quality of service and reputation. Thank you!!!

Beautifully made and works well.
Have been using Macs since 2008 and preferred the ease of use compared to Windows. No slow downs after years of usage. Didn't have to defrag HD and all kinds of other procedures to prevent PCs from being sluggish. Easy to backup and restore OS system if something goes wrong which rarely happened. Probably only did once in 8 years of using my 2008 MBP 17 inch. Won't be going back to using a PC anytime soon, even if it's cheaper.

Esc key on Touch Bar stinks
Much faster computer than my older 2012 laptop but if you use any type of program where the ESC key is part of the workflow like Photo Mechanic or Photoshop/ Camera Raw you will be constantly brushing up against the touch bar ESC key and it will close your window and possibly lots of work. Its a pointless touch bar it wastes time for people already familiar with function keys. Apple could have put the thumb id elsewhere.
