Sony Alpha a77 II DSLR Camera with 16-50mm f/2.8 Lens
UPC's:
WOW !!! Really, wow.
I bought the A700 soon after it came out. I filled out my lens kit and have loved shooting with it. I've always loved the results, even with the occasional back-focus problems. I looked at the A77 when it first came out but descided to wait until they released a firmware upgrade to allow for a clean HDMI output. I bought a VG-10 with an Alpha Lens adapter for the interm. But now. Everything is new again. The EVF is excellent and the focus peaking is almost reason to upgrade by itself.

Ore than I could have expected.
I had a Sony A55v and loved it. Sony is head and shoulders more advanced than the competition. Since purchasing the new A77 MKII, I am even more impressed. To begin with, the basics of the camera are very similar to the A55 so the learning curve was much shorter than I had expected. From there, it just gets better. The focusing choices and the new sensor are second to none, and my images are even sharper than the excellent ones I was able to capture with the A55. I am absolutely ecstatic with the A 77 MKII and am looking forward to learning even more.

Great upgrade from Alpha 580
I'm loving it! I've had this camera now only 3 weeks and noticeable difference from the A580. The 580 is a keeper for low light; but I was looking to upgrade, I'm happy I made the move. The colors are vibrant, ISO is great at 6400, lots of features, and overall a great experience and worthwhile upgrade, go for it!

New to DSLR
I'm an amateur photog and previous experience was with a Minolta 800si or a point and shoot digital. This camera allows me to use all of my Minolta lenses which is a huge plus. The pictures look great as I'm experimenting with all of the functions and I just quickly delete any evidence when I choose the wrong function. It's a great way to learn.

AMAZING
I use the camera as our primary shooter for our corporate marketing department. It's extremely fast when focusing, delivers great quality images, and is a ton of fun to use.

A few problems - but overall very good
Very happy with our first outing with this camera. Shot about 1000 frames on a trip to Alaska. Also shot a few minutes of video just to make sure it worked, but not enough to comment on. This body replaces a Sony alpha 700. Most things work as advertised, and I am not going to list everything that was good. Except for the things that I listed below, the camera lived up to Sony's claims. I do want to mention two items that were good. The autofocus... Show More

It became status symbol for me
I am using it during my visit as tourist here in New York. I used it at market places, beach, site seeings, parks and will use until my last moment here and Africa and my home country.

Excellent AF and Resolution
I purchased the a77ii to get a new set of focal lengths out of my existing set of full frame lenses. I have been extremely impressed by the superior auto focus and image clarity of the new a77ii relative to my a99. Especially with the SAL50F14Z lens - with the a99, that lens consistently front focused to such a degree that even with +20 micro adjust, it was still front focused. The degree of front focus increased the closer the subject became. I ... Show More

Awesome AF
Finally went out to shoot my A77II yesterday at a outdoor Jazz Concert. For the money the A77II is amazing when considering the next jump up is either a D4s or 1Dx, my only complaint which is to be expected is high ISO I was shooting at ISO 1600 RAW and processed in LR5.5 with NR turned on about 40% images are good to very good yet not great. Oh well there is something to be said, you get what you pay for

The EVF has arrived with the A77 II
I have been using an A65 for the past two years and have been very happy with it. I was never highly motivated to upgrade to an A77 Mk1 as they both shared the same sensor and EVF. But the A77 Mk2 has been a significant upgrade for me. The EVF is truly marvelous. As good as the EVF was on the A65/A77 this one is better. Getting much closer to OVF clarity with all the benefits of Live View. The EVF has IS stabilization on the half press now. Since... Show More

Very nice upgrade to the A77
I find the A77 MKII a very nice improvement over the original A77. Better focusing, customization of buttons, FN layout, and other changes, but keeps the same feel as the original.

Enough To Bring Me Back To Sony
After selling off a complete Fuji X-T1 system I looked long and hard to see what system would deliver the goods. For my paid jobs as well as personal. After trying several offerings from all the major manufacturers this A77MkII hit the mark. Not only is it a pleasure to use regarding it's setup and operational ease, but it is built like a tank without weighing like one. Everything just works. The focus system on this camera may well be the fastes... Show More

Excellent
I've been using this camera while I've traveled over the past 3 weeks, and here are my general impressions. First, the camera is super easy to use. Very intuitive, easy to find menu, submenu, and sub sub menus. Getting into the bones of it, and figuring out how to accomplish what you're looking for (setting focus parameters, capture type, etc.) is very easy. That said, there are so many levels and customizations and optimizations available that i... Show More

Best Sony Camera out there
This camera has amazing new features like focus range and lock-on auto focus flexible spot (Translation, the focus point you pick can get attached to the subject and the focus can follow it around the screen). One more, the camera can recognize a face and eyes and focus automatically on the eyes.

great improvement
As an owner of A77 earlier, I am fascinated by new A77II's built-in Wi-Fi/NFC it is an amazing feature, no need to have an external monitor for video shots I will sell mine. Plus they smoothed the curves of body, you can feel the quality now, added 79 point AF module with 15 cross-type, improved the LCD screen, joystick is more sensitive now, thanks weird AF assist-lamp has disappeared. I am so happy with my new A77II

Slightly improved.
I have tested this camera against my older a77. There seems to be a very slight improvement in the high ISO performance of this camera. In fact I'm not sure if it is an improvement or just a slight bit of Blurring added to the image to make the images look smoother. Also I have not noticed any considerable difference affecting the focusing in spite of the 79 focus points, compared to the 19 on the a77. The a77 is definitely the best APS-C Sensor ... Show More
